I tried the Cloudmonster on yesterday! I didn't run in it but walking around, it has a very aggressive rocker. Cushioning felt nice, still not super soft though
I would say that (as a running shoe salesperson) I get feedback twice a month from runners that have problems with stones getting stuck in ON shoes, both 'road' and trail versions. I agree with you re the laces, and when they break it's a pain to get replacements. For me the heel lockdown is poor in ON shoes generally, although the Cloudvista is miles better than other models, I also find it has heaps of volume in the forefoot...? For anyone that runs on anything other than asphalt I find I can't recommend ON, however there are of course people that are totally happy with their shoes. We sell LOTS of ON shoes and we also get lots of warranty claims, particularly for the cloud models.
We sell lots of ON in our store too (Hoka outsells them by a bit though). ON does have a great warranty program! Has your store brought in the Cloudmonster? I think that shoe is going to be a hit for ON.

Yup, the Cloudvista could be a good alternative. You could also look at the Cloudgo or even the Cloudstratus. Honestly, most the other options from On should be more supportive. I wear the Cloudrunner model as a casual/walking shoe and I love them for that.

Bit late but probably not, less cushion the better IMO. Flat footed shoes are better for weight training if that’s what you meant by gym/training if it’s cardio sure why not
Great review! Grabbed a pair of these fir a trip out west w hiking and jogging. And out fir dinner. They look good but do feel flat to me.

Yes, normally I wear a 46 EU size but for this specific model, I had to buy a 47

This looks great for hiking. I’m not much of trail runner, but I’m willing to invest. What do you recommend for sizing? TTS or Size up?

Depends on the brand. I have lifestyle shoes that are size US 8 and others that are 9.5.
For the most part, if it's a casual shoe, I'm usually a 9

Yup, even though it's a trail shoe, I think it feels nice enough that it could double as a road shoe
