- All you gotta do is jump that gap... Well, it's a little more involved then that. In this video I go over all the standard ways of doing the mushroom gorge gap jump shortcut.

Great job arc. Nailed it on this one. Just one little thing: on hopless, shroom a little earlier than you'd expect. That way when you're inputting TF physics you're already at top speed

Its unfortunate that its not allowed in TTs because its similar to the nonbanned DDR wall glitch and it looks really cool when pulled off well.
Thanks for these shortcut videos and track based videos in general fam. I am close to being a "expert" at the basic tricks and such themselves. Now I just need to learn the tracks themselves (despite having been playing this game for about a decade now)! Kudos!
This tutorial is amazing. I got CTGP a little while ago and thought I should finally learn how to do the gap jump. After nearly an hour I got two TTs with the gap jump every lap using hopless. The ghosts wouldn’t save tho
This is a fantastic tutorial! It's explains the different methods so clearly, so that I know exactly what to do now. Only took me a half hour to learn the hopless method! :)

I just got back to mk wii and got ctgp and I was practicing this for an hour on my wii wheel until I decided to watch this and learn it. Within 10 minutes I got hopeless and now I’m trying to get normal. Thank you for the vid
just got back into Mario kart wii and thanks to this I was able to quickly get the gap jump back, thanks! ❤
this short cut does actually work on outside drifting karts!

I actually learned the normal method first, now I get it almost every time.

The hopless gap is even easier when you go off the spot you signed as „spin drift zone“, since you are at a higher position when you leave the ground there compared to the part where you land after the gap.
But otherwise, great video
That's actually not true surprisingly, despite being higher, the angle you go off is pointed lower. Plus the fact you need to cover more distance.
It's possible to do it higher, but according to me labbing and tasing it's harder/more inconsistent higher up.
I've never done the gap jump and I watched the hop less part and immediately got it hop less

I always do spindrift out of habit and I also always drift into it
I learned it and I think this is the easiest shortcut in the game
My favourite method is the Spindrift. It's easy, fun, reliable and rapid!

I accidentally did hopless once when I forgot to hop trying to learn the hop jump lol.

I dont know I tried hopless for 2 hours straight and got it sometimes but most of the time I failed it's just feeling really inconsistent. Like Sometimes I am doing the trick and then next try I do the exact same and fail. Got more tips?

When you trick you get extra air which is slower, but you don't get a boost bc when you land you have to trick again. That's why you only trick the ones where you can get a boost from

How do you hop while boosting? Everytime i try this my character doesnt hop and just stays on the ground
Gotta be on Manual mode, press the same button you use to drift
@@quickpik4121 I am on manual mode. The problem is that while im driving at high speed my character doesn't jump 80% of the time when i press B and i don't know why.

Maybe you are holding left while drifting? For hopless, holding the other way had always been easier for me

Uh, practice. For the hopless, it's a little bit harder so I recommend learn the timing of the hop method.
I just use the glider ;)

The spindrift can be done on 100cc, but it's really precise. Normally on 100cc you don't do gap jump.

Not necessarily, I just think it's the first one that should be learned. Personally I think the spindrift is the easiest.

@TotallyAnonymous Hopless rarely worked for me, hop was more consistent. So for me it was a bit weird to hear that hopless should be the first one I should learn, it really demotivated and annoyed me
