I ditched my GoPro for an Insta360 X camera and haven’t looked back. Yeah, one can argue that the GoPro has better video quality, and that’s true. BUT, the Insta360 X camera is good enough with other benefits that make it a superior action cam in my opinion. I make action videos & vlogs on my bike, and what I love about the Insta360 X, is that I don’t have to think about it. Unlike the GoPro, I don’t have to worry about framing at all. I just place the camera, and concentrate on my ride. Then later in editing, I have INFINITE editing options. This ability is a total game changer.
@@octny if you render in h.264 or h.265 they're not too big, but if you plan on exporting from the 360 studio app into premiere or vegas without rendering artifacts and quality loss, the pro res file is very big. if you have any questions feel free to ask!
Before even watching this video I’m putting it out there. You cannot compare an action camera with a 360 degrees camera and vice verse. That being said I absolutely love running my GoPro Hero 12 and my Insta360 OneX2 simultaneously. As a duo, it’s an unstoppable action solution entirely.
I had a Gopro 9, then i bought the X3, after that i never used my Gopro again. I just sold the Gopro, also the X3 and bought the X4 ! Those 360 cameras are so versatile !
@@danielvanderklok8138 The video quality difference is very noticeable ! And the X4 processor is definitely faster (faster recording time when pushing the button).
The problem with the 360X3/X4 camera is the distortion and flattening of water fearures say for windsurfing when focusing on rider. I love the framing flexibility but not the distortion. A Gopro has problems of framing but much less distortion.
I have a GP 360 and in addition to be tricky to use, the stitched together film is not great quality (1080p). Is the Insta you reviewed demonstrably better?
although x4 gives bigger image on wide lens, the background has less details and the image doesn't looks as immersive as the hero, in hero even though its more cropped, the background image still gives you better detail of the background and better image quality
I bought Go Pro Hero 12 last February, and sold it a month later. It really feels outdated. From the horrible software, to the horrendous app and stabilization, there isn't a world I would recommend this in. I currently own Insta 360 X4, Go 3S, and Dji Pocket 3. They all achieve what they are set out to do with amazing 1st party accessories that aren't too overpriced like the go pro. The insta360 software especially does everything for you and more.
@@Zhen-Lin-CHN gopro 12 never overheat when i was use him. And i was wear him on my head strap riding bicycle 2 hours on 40 degree on sun these summer with continuoes recording 4k 30 frames. So stop talking about gopro overheating.
How is the X4 in cold weather for skiing? I had the first Insta 360 camera but I returned it because 1) I couldn't see the screen in bright sunlight and 2) the battery died so fast in the cold and it wasn't replaceable. Are the batteries replaceable? Otherwise, I think it wouldn't work well for me for skiing.
In my experience even the x4's auto settings will leave the sky washed out. I've since learned to use the manual settings and the quality is amazing. Perfect clarity on both foreground and background I've never used it in cold conditions (yet) but if youre using 8k it gets pretty toasty, so I don't imagine cold weather being an issue The 35 feet of waterproofing without a housing is good too. Batteries last a good while, plus they're easily interchangeable
I own the « old » 360 GoPro Max (and a Hero 12) , which I love because of the better colors IMO than all I see out of the Insta and DJI.l I hope there will be a Max2. BTW, are the Insta lens covers replaceable, which seems mandatory for an action camera ? Same remark for ND filters I don’t think you can use on the Insta. As you said : the Insta 360 is not really an action camera, but a camera for creative views like “little “planet”, or to film oneself. Like any other 360 camera (Ricoh Theta, GoPro Max…) In contrast, you can bring your GoPro (Hero or Max) everywhere, including water.
The X4 is not the best 360. The One RS One inch edition blows it out of the water. That's why it's $800 vs $500 for the X4. Especially low light the X4 falls behind the one inch sensor
I am beginning to think that the Insta360 cameras are the biggest threat to GoPro`s survival. When Insta360 perfect the Single Lens video capture or make it on par or even superior to the GoPro13, GoPro will be finished.
do you know any action cam that can replicate human eyes: ~180 degrees, with liner view, and the same distance to the objects as the human eye sees? ... or our human race is still too under developed for that kind of technology? thank you.
The X4 has terrible low light capabilities compared to the One RS 1-inch 360. The Gopro 13 is even worse. If Insta360 could embrace 10bit it would beat all of its competitors.
The ace pro is simply better if you look at basically any comparison on TH-cam. The only reason people buy GoPro is because of their marketing and whenever you think of an action camera, you think GoPro because they started it, but their sensor is simply smaller, which also results in worse image quality, and the other ones also have an AI 5 nm chip.
Now for the times for the reason qualities worse is because it’s a 360 can’t you 360 then you get the X4 if you don’t need a 360 camera then you get an action camera and they will have better image quality
HOWEVER - I prefer the X4 😉

Exactly what you said.
Normal cameras - I'll fix it in post
X4 - I'll frame it in post 😂
ok, but shooting in 360 does not generate too big file sizes?

Ace Pro 2? When? Should I return the Ace Pro I just bought?
According to the leaks very soon...

I was the first person to like your video! Never has happened before
Great! Thx Alexander!
X4 deform picture and it is not real action camera because have fragile lense hood. Gopro is way better. Im waiting ice pro 2 to see new things

GoPro is still the beast.
don't think it's meaningful to compare an action camera with a 360 one.
