What is the maximum recording time in 4K? Does it limit you to 30 minutes per video like the X3 or will it let you record for 90 minutes or 120 minutes at a time?
I think this time I will replace my Minicord Helgor for the Insta360X4^^ Even in our wildest dreams, we wouldn't have thought this possible. The easy and fun aspect of assembly is essential because the first 360s involved a lot of work. As for HDR, it’s a revolution that we discovered on the iPhone12. For low light performance, it is obvious that there is no miracle but it is already sufficient. One thing that amazes me is the size of the battery (the eternal yet capital aspect which is systematically neglected in photography in all high-quality compacts). Trick question: can I use two X4 to edit photos into slides intended for my View-Master reels (3D vision)?
I think for adventures and activities where the creator is doing a bike ride or another activity then 360 just helps so much to just shoot and frame later.
There shouldn't be problems if you move with the camera - so if there is airflow - if you just mount it in a fixed place there might be problems for longer shots (but just a guess)
Really? I think that should be an important information - especially the colors in HDR have gotten better compared to the X3 but most of the times you still get the better results in standard video mode.

Hello brother, how are you doing today? I hope you're doing well. I just wanted to say that I'm a big fan of your content all the way from Tanzania. By the way, if you ever consider giving away the Insta360 camera, I would be extremely grateful to have the chance to use it. I am an adventurous motorbike rider and it is my dream to capture my outdoor experiences with an Insta360 camera. With its 8K resolution, I would be able to capture more details in my shots and have more flexibility to crop the images to create more dynamic memories. I would truly appreciate having such an amazing piece of equipment. Thank you!
I don't quite believe in editing on a cell phone. I had the Go3 and every slightly longer video should be transferred to the cell phone, according to the app. Transferring 2,3,4,5...GB of data to the cell phone sometimes takes hours at an average transfer rate of 5-10mb/s. This was particularly annoying with timeshift/laps videos and the Insta app for Windows didn't offer nearly as many options as the one on the cell phone. I then returned the whole thing because the workflow was simply lousy.
My life is so extreme I consider buying a 360 camera. I go from bed to office to groceries shop. I thought I could zoom on the moment I catch the discounted bio broccoli for clients who own the shop fidelity card (which I have).
The lens guards should have been included from their first 360 iteration, or a design change should have been done so that the glass dome around the lens can be easily and affordably replaced... While it is now included it is the plastic one, not the glass one. Also the way the lens guard is attached is not the best solution either. Fingerprint magnet.
Yes - that's true. I usually do not use lens guards but protect the lenses using the rubber lens cap - but of course that does't help during recording. By the way, the Premium Lens Guards are made of plastic as well.
@@MountMediaChannel maybe I am wrong but their website does say the following "Rugged, easy-to-apply *tempered glass* lens guards for complete protection against bumps and scratches. Improved optical performance for clearer, brighter image capture. Removable for quick and easy installation and removal." so it should be glass...
@@BorisZX6R Yes, you are certainly right. Just by looking at them, I would have said it was plastic. They are definitely a bit bigger than the lensguards in the standard packaging.
1. Color science is still bad look at color shifts between skin tones on most of the videos. 2. The artifacts are awful - look at the blocking on images even in broad daylight. 3. Why is no one that is bought and paid for with a camera explaining how bad the highlights are yet claim this is so much better than the X3? It's not, it literally is an X3 with some more AI stuff for algorithms. 4. Reframed video 2.7k isn't impressive. Especially when all the 8k is doing is amplifying how bad the artifacts etc are before reframe. 5. The 1RS is bad in and of it self. BIG sensor, poor low light performance. The x4 1/2 sensor still bad. 6. TH-camrs should be honest, they are losing credibility. Getting resell links to push a camera that isn't much different then the X3. The Qoo cam had 8k prior to this, it was bad as well. They never made any real changes, they just pushed it out. Sadly that is all that Insta360 has been doing year after year. It's not a good look. And it takes those whom bu it with their hard earned money to get a real review. Ps. Owner of a pocket 1/2/3, Canon 1D Mark 1/2/3, 7D, 7D mark II, Sony A9, Gopro 3-11. All of these dont need a million people to push their products on youtube. Take a wild guess why that is... The quality speaks for it self. The things on the Insta are all novelty. They don't listen to their customers at all.
The fucking limitation is bitrate and 8bit video. Usually there are a log mode video, create posterisation but reduce artifact and color filter. The main problem is not sensor size, it's soc recording/filtering/encoding. If we can burst 8k dng video quality will be amazing. There is the exact same problem on android smartphone. If you use motioncam app to record with smartphone, quality become epic.

It's quite severe in some samples, quite beyond reason. They've made it stretch to avoid seams while totally disregarding geometric accuracy. And yet it sometimes makes cuts for seemingly no reason, like 3:30 in KX7-vIi8RvU where a quarter of the operator's face is gone, despite easily being in the image overlap.

@@MountMediaChannel wait what premium lens guard plastic ?! - what is then premium about them ?! optically correct ?
@@MountMediaChannel maybe I am wrong but their website does say the following
"Rugged, easy-to-apply *tempered glass* lens guards for complete protection against bumps and scratches.
Improved optical performance for clearer, brighter image capture.
Removable for quick and easy installation and removal."
so it should be glass...
Know what's worse? Missing the shot which is why you use a 360 camera. Doesn't matter what camera you use if you completely miss the shot.
@@elibrooks8824 If it's not clear and or useable who gives a #@$% if you get the shot?
The fucking limitation is bitrate and 8bit video. Usually there are a log mode video, create posterisation but reduce artifact and color filter.
The main problem is not sensor size, it's soc recording/filtering/encoding.
If we can burst 8k dng video quality will be amazing.
There is the exact same problem on android smartphone.
If you use motioncam app to record with smartphone, quality become epic.
Subsrcibed because you do a proper reviews,
Please Insta360 you guys have to create a vlogging camera like DJI Osmo Pocket 3. Im sure you can make yours better! 🎉
you could still vlog with this one as well as have the benefits of the 360 option, isnt the dji action 4 better than the pocket 3 anyways?
Thank you for so quickly and immediately answering my number one question concerning low light. I have the ONE RS 1 Inch and shall not be selling it.😊
26 - The cost of a repair lens is $99 since it WILL SCRATCH if you touch it on ANYTHING 27 - $99 was the cost of the repair for the X2 - so its probably much more expensive now! 28 - The turnaround time to get the lens repair is over 8+ weeks if they get back to you in a timely fashion (which they won't) 29 - The lens guards severely degrade the footage and effect the stitch - hence why no finluencer actually shows using them - so again back to no 26 - you will SCRATCH THE LENSES! I can keep going if you like - I have spent over $700 on ONE of these cameras and had to go through the repair process 3 TIMES - I finally GAVE UP ON USING THEM! Stop LYING to people and calling these things action cameras - they are just as fragile and there fore - not as versatile as they claim - as any other camera - even more so with these lenses!
You’re first 😅
The Title isn‘t Clickbait.
Thank you for an honest review.
Really enjoyed it👍🏻
low-light is not even as close as good as the osmo pocket 3.
30sec about photo, is sade
I would have bought it if it came with a 1 inch Sensor and Pure Shot Video Mode for low light😂
So 2x 4K? Nice math they have 4K + 4K = 8K, hmmmm
👍👍
Still unsure whether to go with the ace pro or x4 😩
Depends if you want a single lens ace pro or x4 360 camera
so far all the footages ihave seen i think there is a lot of jello/wavy effect happening which can be seen from 1:35 to 1:38,ihope this can fixed easily via firmware update
that effect is caused by the lens stitching - it probably cannot be easily fixed - but it won't happen if you hold the camera differently
Could you please upload a sample photo for download? I'd like to see a raw 360 picture before I consider purchasing one of these.
Thank you
