Have owned both the 2023 W206 C300 and now the 2023 W206 C43 AMG. They are like totally different cars. The AMG is much rougher ride and louder tire noise (on 20 inch wheels vs 19s on the C300). Also the multi-plate wet clutch is unpredictable and clunky at low speeds. However, the power, handling, steering and sound are at another level above the C300. With its one-man, one-engine and rear-wheel steering, it has transitioned well into the true AMG experience. Tradeoffs to be sure.
Nick, you will not regret owning an AMG. I have had mine for the last 5 years and I still love it the same as I did when I first drove it.
I’ve had my a35 for two months and never knew about emotion start! Ran outside straight away to give it a try! Very cool

A35 is not a true AMG but an AMG enhanced car. What’s bro talking about.
The fundamental of Mercedes and what makes it an AMG is engine. The engine must have a square plate/badge which says “one man one engine and a signature of the builder”. If your car doesn’t have that when you open the bonnet then you aren’t driving a true AMG. Also, AMG cars are enhanced with advanced parts and forged internals and build from ground up including the suspension by AMG. C43 used to be AMG enhanced until the new face lift.
45, 63, SL, GT, and the slk 55 are the true amg. Bottom line, if you wanna know, open the hood/bonnet.

Driving an AMG is as sensible as using a stick of dynamite to open a can of peas. People actually spend money on these. I am astounded and filled with wonder!
Those were wonderful moments when you shared your personal wishes and aspirations to own certain models. When I was about your age I had almost zero net worth, drove a 20 year-old, constantly overheating Honda, and so on. Now I drive an AMG S63 and it comprises a tiny fraction of my net worth. Hard work, charisma, sincerity, and a bit of guile at times... it got me there and I would say it could easily get you there. You have what it takes. Just keep going forward. You won't know where it is taking you, but doors will open along the way and they will welcome you because of who you are as a person. All the best!

I ordered a amg gt53 delivered in june 2024. can't wait . im so glad to be an owner off such cars. Finally can replace our french car ...
Ow 1 fun fact the gls amg line is a diesel with also 365 HP . witch is like beginning amg's ... But the gls is actually no amg ....
It's commonly said of AMG-branded engines that they are hand-built, but of course they are made by machines. Some parts are assembled by hand, but that's true of all car engines. Some assembly of AMG-labelled engines is performed more slowly, by a single worker, but that "hand-built" description is basically only marketing-speak.

Well I may do a video about that sort of topic in the future, WLTP (in the UK) is a standardised test done on all cars sold which will give you the real mpg of a car. This is of course if you drove in an economical manner and in some cases you can beat it.
It all depends how but most importantly where you drive (built up area where you stop and start / the open road)

No A180 here in North America. Currently have an A250 hatch, very fun to drive in sport mode. Sadly used cars here cost more than the new cars due to inflated market and price cap on new cars.
A35 is very fun to rip around in compared to the A250, more emotion in the car with all that power (especially in the 45). No A45 here so just CLA45.

4 months on after purchasing my c300e (amg line) estate; stunning car so lovely to drive as long as you have a light foot it can be very economical . i feel a bit cheated with the scrimping on things like wireless charging , a bog standard hyundai even come with wireless charging!.. anyway i digress. Nick your videos are a joy to watch :-)

I have the the BMW M package on a non M car and I think it’s still adds sportiness and simply looks better. That include brembo calipers and two piece rotors, barkes air intake ducts, aero (just looks), very goof lateral support seats, M suspension stiffness/ geometry , sport wheel (just looks and maybe lighter),much lighter car compared to the M model. engine power is a lot of fun but it’s not necessarily required to make the car capable or fun. however many of the listed features were not standard but available after selecting M trim package. a read lsd would be nice but there are plenty of aftermarket options from torsen to clutch plates type.

Interesting comparison. I had a BMW M4 last year, so I know what a quick car feels like. I now have a late Mercedes C350e sport plus premium. I have to say on just 17" rims its a great drive and quick in sport plus. Yes not 3.9 to 62 quick but quick enough. The ride between then is incomparable. The M4 is a rickety go cart of the car slipping out at the back in a really punishing way if you press the quick pedal even slightly. The 350e gives you a jag like ride but with a really nice interior.
Anyway, I am still on for a c43 AMG V6 at some point, maybe next year before going fully electric.

Love the channel. I want to know the difference in suspension. My AMG-line GLB has active dampers. Some others have air shocks. What does all that mean? What's the difference?
Think it just depends on the model
Mercedes offer a variety of Premium models and then ultra luxury models. You’ll usually find on the higher end there might be air suspension etc but then that’s more for “floating” across the road.
The fact that it’s adjustable is pretty cool! Not many cars have that! 🤓
Airmatic is only available in larger Mercedes, usually the E Class and above.GLB is A class based with transverse engine, these were never offered with airmatic. The higher S class have ABC, which is electro hydraulic suspension, more advanced/ complicated than airmatic, used to help prevent body roll and not just be active but pre - emotive, using cameras to read up coming bumps and adjust the dampers accordingly.
I looked at both a 2024 SLE350 W4 AMG Mercedes-Benz and an AMG. The AMG was more expensive and I decided to purchase The Mercedes AMG, and save the money to repave my drivway!!!

I am wondering if 2023 GLC AMG line has same suspension as base trim, or is stiffer.
If there is a difference it’s barely noticeable, all non Mercedes AMG cars (so other trims are alway set up to be as comfortable as possible)
In the UK you can only order AMG Line I believe unless it’s changed

Really sorry I wouldn’t know about individual specs, I know that on some models it’s available and some standard equipment, some you have to spec it. You’ll have to chat to your local Mercedes, they could check it out for you!

I've owned both cars you mentioned new in Thailand and not found that was the case. Mine was a AMG and the BMW was a real M sport, both convertibles. Waiting for the new CLE AMG to arrive in Thailand and will order one.😊
Beautiful series of AMG's. Looked liked fun. I love my AMG but know some will call it an AMG light since it is not the hand built version being a GLA35. I am glad Mercedes has announced they are bringing back the V8 in the AMG C-class and E-class models again. Not sure I could ever move to a full hybrid.

Well Mercedes haven’t confirmed that, I’ve been researching this over the past few days and apparently someone internally commented that it would “need only minor bodywork changes to accommodate the twin-turbo powerplant”.
Mercedes haven’t officially stated that it’s happening to my knowledge, but it would be cool if a V8 is introduced so we’ll have to see!
I also have GLA 35 AMG and I love to ride it.
Only people with inferiority complexes need to point out AMG lite vs the hand built. But every car I’ve ever wanted to own to this point didn’t have a hand built engine…only Mercedes fanboys feel the need to point this out like it’s the most important thing in the world. I love my GLC 43, hand built be damned.
You can buy older AMG’s for cheap money. I have owned the SL 55 and the CLS 55 both with the supercharged 5.5 litre giving 500 bhp. All of these cars were purchased for less than 20k and were immaculate and importantly had fsh. Very impressive cars and I don’t impress easily having owned Ferraris, Astons, Lamborghinis and De Tomaso’s. Value for money it’s the AMG every time!
That settles it... if I win the lotto Nick is going shopping for me! Until then, I may feel like a pauper!

I wish Mercedes would drop the AMG Line moniker and just call the version of the car "Sports" or "Avantgarde". Naming the variation "AMG Line" belittles the AMG ethos and it makes me (as an AMG Line owner) feel very awkward/wankerish. I hate having AMG badges on my carpets because I know my car I don't own an AMG. I feel it makes me look like a tosser when all I wanted was the sportier look without the AMG price tag. BTW real AMG owners are not tossers - they're fortunate to own amazing cars. The people who modify their standard cars with AMG grilles etc are the tossers.

It’s no different to trims in other brands:
BMW - M Sport
Audi - RS / S Line
VW - R Line
Some people will always aspire to having high end performance cars and manufacturers make models that have some selected styling parts of those performance models.

I have an AMG C63 Cabriolet with a hand built engine and great sound.That means nothing when you find the roof cables are shredding after 21,000 and the soft top won’t work through bad design.Let’s see if the dealer will sort it .

Yes but it’s an option called Augmented Reality so keep any eye out for that when shopping for one 🤓
The interior looks amazing in the EQE with the standard screen … way better to admire that gorgeous piece of wood .. curse that bad trend of tesla screens ⚡️

Well it would depend on what model you have 🤓
There’s loads of models out there, some newer ones have blind spot assist and manoeuvring assistance which can help with lower speeds.

Hi just bought 2014 b180 cdi and want to know whether my parking sensors have sound n if so how to get them to beep? Doesn’t have a reverse camera
Really sorry I wouldn’t know, might be best to ask Mercedes on that one.
I know that if you have factory sensors installed and there’s a black bar at the top of the windscreen, when you get closer to objects, it’ll show orange dots and beep on red which is very close. If it’s factory sensors they’ll be one in the roof for the rear too

I've had my 2021 E63S AMG for 2.5 years and have enjoyed the car very much. I'm currently trying to decide between the S580 and the S63 E Performance AMG for the next go around. It'll likely come down to the first available build slot.
Keep the one you got…there is only sadness at the end of that 4cyl 63 s

normally the higher the number the bigger the engine, for example the 55 was 5.4L V8, then came the 63 a 6.2L V8 with later also the 5.5L V8 and then both got replaced by the 4L V8 and at the top the 65 with the 6L V12
I have A35 2021 model and I see yours is facelift and you have augumented reality. I saw that pre-facelift models also have it. But mine car doesn’t have it or it is because of country restriction i don’t know. How do I find out if I have it?
It’s not really worth it. Have it in my GLC 43. It’s a neat trick, but honestly…you will use it a couple times and then go back to using google maps or something.
It just depends on what was specified at factory / if it was available at the time of order.
They’ll be a camera at the top of the windscreen if you do and the Sat Nav will show a camera feed with arrows as you navigate.
I hate that half the manufacturers now use their spots model naming for their mid range cars that just have some nicer trim on.
It just de-values their special cars.
Im with the stig. This spongey lagy fly by wire stearing and braking. And batteries that loose power as we drive. Meaning the acceleration is never the same twice can go and fish.

Technically, the A35 and C43 are AMG line not full AMG, same as BMW have the M lites like M140i and M240i, or M340i. They have simply bean breathed on by AMG or M division in terms of their styling and a tuned up engine, and are meant to be a fast road car for everyday use.
True M and AMG cars such as the C63 and M3 normally share only 10-20% of their parts with the basic model I.e. M3 shares parts with the 3 series and C63 shares parts with the C class, the rest of the cars parts are homologated specially by AMG or M division, as these cars are designed specifically to tackle the race track and set respectable lap times, as well as being road legal, and hence the greater price tag.

I had an AMG A45, kept smoking from new, mercedes refused to replace the engine, but instead they put a new piston in it, and guess what, it still kept smoking and AMG customer service refused to an anything else. Their response is the engine was too expensive to replace. Always judge a company by it's after service.
AMG prices with Mercedes are ridiculous at the moment. The SL 43 starts at £108,000 and if you want four extra cylinders for the SL55 it will cost you another £40,000 not to mention the SL63 costing another £30,000 on top of that. Sales of the SL in Europe are dismal at the moment simply because of the cost of the engines
Correct me if I’m wrong Nick but the A35 isn’t a “real” AMG. It’s not got the hand built engine as the AMG 45 models have.
For me that’s what defined the AMG, mine has “Peter Schindler’s” name on the build plaque on top of the engine. So lovely though the A35 is, the “AMG” world starts at the “45” engine range and goes through the “63” etc.
Basically Mercedes introduced two levels of AMG a number of years ago. Technically they are AMG’s, the only difference is that they’re not built with the one man, one engine philosophy.
They still get all of the AMG treatment, they still have a running in period, they still put a smile on your face and they do come equipped with everything you’d expect from adding more power from the engine. So, firmer suspension, unique AMG styling, sometimes louder exhaust and much more!

Model 2020 E300 e with self steering and blind spot.
It shouldnt be lowering speed cause its about the car behind me is getting very close to my pumper. Lowering speed will make it crash quicker into the back of my car
I have a older model CL63 right now and wouldn't buy an EQ either.
