Very interesting, great insights and clear demonstration. I've never practised Karate, but I can appreciate the dedication and hard work these guys put into their art.
Thank you so much. We are glad you like the video. If you have a chance, please check out our Karate training videos and try out the workouts. Thank you once again.
Bravo! I like that he still has so much energy for a later aged gentleman. It is very similar to what Bruce Lee developed with the one inch punch. But the roots must go back even to China, as Okinawa martial art were first called 唐手 (Chinese Hand). But we should not underestimate the way Okinawa-Te evolved on its own. I find that masters of martial arts from all around the world have things to teach us, if they took the time to perfect their art.
That was really good and informative But there is a great distinction between that technique they call one inch punch and the one inch punch made famous by Bruce Lee. Bruce lee's version the power comes from the foot, knee, waist, shoulder, elbow, forearm, first, in a chain link reaction. It's broken down into multiple parts that must come together and it flows like a wave of water from the floor up. I have never heard of a punch from Okinawa Karate referred to as a one inch punch.I have only heard of it from the Chinese martial arts.I just wanted to make note there is big distinction between both versions.

This is all in Sanchin and Tensho, the very fundamentals of Goju.
Excellent!

Thank you so much for your comment.
Don't boxers use their hips in same manner to put power into their punches?
Yes and they call it 'put your body behind your punch' which means basically the same thing.
It's first of all about Defense, then you strike the opponent.
Un vidéo pour un débutant
