For those asking about the kata, they are, in order:
Chinto, Gojushiho, Seisan (Shorinji-ryu), Wansu, Seisan (Uechi-ryu), lastly, this is Nakamoto Masashiro's double nunchaku, his own kata.

I enjoyed and greatly appreciate these martial artists for sharing their skill, dedication, and passion for their discipline. You don't reach 9th dan,10th Dan, and Grand Master without years of training, instructing, and teaching, with that being said, unless you began your martial arts at a very young age you won't reach 9th,10th,or Grand Master until you reach "old guy" status. Much respect for "old guy" martial artists. I'm 57 and a year ago I started taking martial arts. My instructor is an "old guy" with several degrees of black belt in 5 different disciplines and he is a 9th Dan in one discipline. Much respect!

all the negative comments must be coming from MMA fanboys. That's the kind of attitude that will make them old fart when they're old. That's the difference with traditional martial artists, no matter how slower they get when they are old, people respect them even more

    • @tyronekim3506

@@kbanghart You are completely missing the point. When a person reaches a 9th or 10th dan level, the form and execution of movements should be perfect, irrespective of age, and no exceptions. If you allow for exceptions, you cheapen the rank by allowing high ranks can be bought with age without the necessary increase in skill level.

@@Rizaldjohan if you allow people to be promoted to high rank, 9th or 10th dan, without an increase in their skill level, you basically are buying the rank (9th or 10th dan) by getting older and no increase in the skill level is required.

The problem with our society and respect is that we give unfounded respect to people who play high school games/sports for millions of dollars or bash each other in a cage, but we give don't give enough to men like these who dedicate their lives to the mastery of an art or craft.

@@kbanghart You still don't get. I'll try to explain one more time. In martial arts, higher the rank means higher the skill level, regardless of person's age. But in this case the old masters have been promoted to high rank based on age and the length of time doing Karate while their skill levels have been on the decline. You have seen the young masters of lower rank performing better than the older masters of higher rank. Do you get it now? The old masters didn't earn their high rankings from achieving higher skill level. The old masters were promoted to higher rank for their many years doing martial art regardless of their skill level even though their skill level were on the decline.
The point that I'm trying to make is that earning a high rank in marital arts should be based on skill level, not based on age. A new student in martial arts starts at a white belt level, and as skill level increases the student is promoted accordingly, and the promotion continues as skill level increases. Promotion should never be based on the age alone or the length of time in martial arts alone.
