I’m a mobile locksmith and just purchased a used connect and have been fishing around other tradesman’s vans to pick and pull ideas and for sure I will be using the drawer track (I believe it was) to slide in and out the vertical shelving. Love that idea for sure!!
I have watched a ton of videos on Setups....... that is a really simple great idea to connect everything to the one frame ( slide in i ) and then fix reels etc to it ....... I have just subscribed ..
Love the setup the rails that holds the chemicals is it drawer rails? How big is the compreasor too? Love the setup and how you can work out of a small van. I actually have a huge 3 bllwer system with 100 psi and a 1000psi pump. Trying to customize my setup atm so this gave me alot of great ideas
Tranist Connect or Chevy Express is like the perfect size imo or a midsize/fullsize truck with solid canopy.. but have to get clever with the storage. Save on gas mileage and easier to park and maneuver than a full size work van. For detailing, it can honestly be done out of a car trunk, the van is only needed if you need a generator and water tank, so a small van is totally fine if you make an effort to lay it out well and don't take a ton of unnecessary stuff.
Man this thing is sweeeeeeeet..... just make a slide out for the chiefsteamer right where it is brother it fit really cool under where is at but man the setup awesome
We are based out of Tampa FL, currently running the truck and trailer setup. I love having all of the space in my trailer, but it's really not neccessary and tbh sometimes is a pain in the butt trying to maneuver and setup in certain situations. Although I'm 6'3, this is a very attractive model. And also, the price leap from one of these to say a Ford transit medium roof is like 15-20k difference so I totally see why people are converting these Connects into Detail vans. Because people don't want to buy some POS ford cargo van for 5k 200k miles on market place. It's just not justifiable. I have seen that metal mounting frame in other connect vans before so I'm wondering if there's a blue print for it? Definitely utilizes that space optimally. In my trailer, everything is currently mounted with Unistrut but I am a big fan of this welded framework.
Nope, i am not a fan of extractors due to how much they saturate the vehicle. We do use a extracor attatchment for the steamer when the upholstrey is super bad.

For sure, and those vans get like 14mpg whereas this thing is much better.

The flooring is pressure treated plywood with a rubber flooring like what you would see in a gym.
