  • Every car I get for myself is always from Copart. I got no problem with them. However, this time I was careless a bit and ended up overpaying. This Panamera from Copart got repaired back to spec and became my worst financial mistake of my life. When you are looking for a car on Copart be careful not to make the same mistake I made! Thanks for watching and stay tuned for my 240sx build!

    Sorry to hear this but you do have a cool ride. I've bought two from Copart here in SA and i totally get the frenzy purchase. I made a rule of having an excel spreedsheet and I have 4 to 5 vehicles on the sheet with my max bid in one column and next to it the total fees and next to that the total cost. My final column is what percentage of the total costs are fees. Not uncommon to get out bid on all of them but I then shut down the app after that to avoid the frenzy bidding/buying. Other thing i have is the time to bid on the cars. I'm finding the quicker the car comes up the better shot I have. Also thanks for your honesty.

      @@golfandcats I do like the look of the new shape but it’s not a “true” Porsche in my view. Just like all these models like the Macan, cayenne, 718 cayman and boxster.
      Porsche made these other models to gain some market shares in those markets I guess, but for me, although I have to say are for the large part amazing vehicles. I just could not own one. 911 whether it’s a 911, 911s, any of the GTS, GTRs and turbos are really true Porsches in my view. It just so happens that all the 911s hold their value extremely well, relatively speaking anyway. Aston Martin comes to mind. Dam, those things look massive but when you sit in the thing and drive it I have to,say it’s disappointing for me at Least. I sit in the 911 and although the car is quite compact it felt quite comfortable and extremely exhilarating to drive. I will be turning 50 in November. I am going down to Porsche on Thursday to put my order in. Apparently it takes 18 months to 2 years for a 911. I was told 6 months for a 718 cayman which could possibly interest me. The same for the 718 boxster too. There is no way I would drive a boxster though. That’s just me. Everyone is different!
      I mean, who in their right minds buys a cayenne turbo. It’s laughable.😄

    buying a car on a copart is too risky. For a $20k car after you add up ~$1500 copart/broker fees + ~$2000 dmv fees, + $ fixing it, it's not that much of a sweet deal anymore. I bought one myself and after all the expenses it was about $3000 less than the salvage market value. Great car but considering the time spent and risk i don't think i'll do it ever again.

    I enjoyed your video and I appreciate your honesty. It takes a lot of guts to admit your mistakes. Lots of guys doing the Copart thing and they all try to make it look easy. Everyone wants to make videos of how much profit they make and how smart they are, but you rarely see videos of people being honest about the real costs of repairing a vehicle. On the bright side, you have a really nice car that's been fixed right and should last a long time. There's no shame in that. Good luck !

      Im glad you enjoyed the video! At first I didnt want to make this video, but thought why not? Its a big thing that happened in my life so why not tell others and maybe help someone make the correct decision. It definitely is not easy and you have to be detail oriented to get that right car for a good price. Take care!

      Salvage Title vehicles don't hold value with insurance companies you need every receipt for a salvage vehicle. He been better off buying the clear title at least he could take it to a dealership for a trade in.

      G NEWS I agree with your sayings, but the stralership will rape him harder than co part did, he should just keep it, and drive out his money’s worth, any other options than that, he will end taking more loses, at least he’s the owner of a nice model porch without a monthly car payment, nowadays the stealership organization are a mafia waiting to butcher any customer on sight, anyone buying 2018 models good luck after warranty run out, if you’re not a millionaire, you’re wallet is up for assassination.

    The book might say salvage, but the car looks nothing like that. In actuality, that car looks brand new. I made same type of mistake. However, unlike you, the fixing was crappy and it still hurts till this day. I have an advice for you: enjoy your car until the tires literally fall off. Don't sell it; I believe you'd regret it in the end if you did away with it. Don't let a buyer enjoy the fruits of your labor. Beautiful, beautiful car you've got there bro!

      Sounds like you are pretty damn sure that panamera will drive like toyota camry till 200k with some maintenance items. I bet people are only getting rid of used porsches because they have money and just want newer one???? Guys, used porsches out of warranties are a great deal!! SMH

    • @delbisluciano893
      @delbisluciano893 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Awyatt Mann not in all cases! I know some that are able to sell the cars overseas and even locally for more than what they paid because of how great the outcome of fixing the vehicle was. For the most part I’ll say it’s better to just buy it to keep it not try to sell it. You will enjoy the beauty of some cars for a much lower cost 🍉

    This illustrates why high end , complicated cars of today will never be worth fixing. That is also why their values fall rapidly after 3-4 years-buyers know that a single problem can wind up costing thousand$$ to fix. Add to that the difficulty of working on them 9engine compartment packed to the max); i can see why no one wants them.

    • @golfandcats
      @golfandcats  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      At the same time, imagine a salvaged high end older car. Now compare that to the same car with a clean title. Most likely all the warranties are out for that clean title car, so when you go out to buy it, why not go get that same car from an auction? You will save some cash say for those future repairs. I understand this is not for everybody though and also this project of mine was how not to do it lol All in all, I agree with you that these high end cars loose value and the only ones that hold or gain value are those rare older sport coupes.
