You have a wonderful review style Sam. Informative without a lot of irrelevant and boring details, interesting history and background, and then a good fun running session to finish off with, which is beautifully filmed. Keep doing what you're doing!
Hi Sam. The Kitnaster 61xx was a very basic plastic construction kit, Airfix took over the tooling in the early 70's and then when airfix unloaded their model railway stuff Dapol brought the molds and they still produce it. Airfix, when they introduced heir own 00 r-t-r range in 1978 designed the r-t-r 61xx from scratch and it has no relation to the kit. The 61xx was the first steamer to be introduced into their range and was a ground breaking model for its times in terms of detail and scale diamentions. I have one of the old Airfix branded ones, and although being a bit noisy its a powerful and smooth runner. Anyway great and fair review Jon PS - in real life they were very powerful locos. They could tackle 9-10 coach heavy suburban trains in and out of Paddington and Brimingham Snow Hill with ease. PPs - The small prarrie is a 4575, one of the Collet batch, they have the sloped front to the tanks. The first batch, the Churchward 45xx series had square ended tanks
Hey Jon, thanks a lot for the info on this - I'm wiser now about the history! Great to hear this has a prototypical pulling ability then! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I have a strong love for prairies for some reason. They just look, big, strong and cute sometimes teehee.. Also, It's great to see your face a lot more than usual! by the way, the P2 Project is coming along swiftly so we will see the most powerful british steam engine again! Cheers, your 3 year fan, Masire. MATE. hehhe
17:43, Bullman weighs 20 tons? The heaviest species of Cow (Chianina) max for the bulls at least is 1.57 tons, plus Bullman is just as heavy as Paralititan, a Saurapod (20 - 59 tons).
I rode one of these in Llangollen. It has the exact Same livery as yours and it carried the number 5199. I wonder if they will do one with the number 5199 🤔
Hi Sam - lovely model - any plans to review the new model, whatever it is? I see Rails of Sheffield have a DCC fitted Class 5101, and a DCC fitted Class 61XX - if either of those are it? No TTS sound though...thanks!
For the first two minutes mukka you had the box upside down then... 'presto' the box was the right way up! Magic of motion pictures! I won't tell anyone. Cheers from Oz. Gaz
Hi Sam i loved prarie tanks when they used to be the stock in trade loco at my local station at Cookham Berks in the 50s,so i jumped in and ordered one straight away from Hattons which i received the next day and I quickly unwrapped it and was impressed by the detail of the model but immediately the rear coupling fell off. not deterred by this i used a small piece of blue tack in the aperture to solve the problem, and put it on my rolling road to programme it and it ran very slowly and speed increase was up to spec. I then put it on my track with no running in and the pulling power was only two coaches at first but after running in for 30 mins it improved to 5 coaches 4 with lighting. i must add here my layout is a garden layout with some spots of undulating track which other stock copes with fine, but i was disappointed with the front bogie wheels which decided to derail the whole loco on almost every point and dip and then as a crowning glory it lost the centre wheel crank pin bolt never to been found again! I rang Hattons the next day told them about the crank pin and they did say if they could not get one they would change the loco over. which i agreed with at first but declined and agreed to have a different model instead. I am very disappointed at this outcome because i still like Hornby and hope its a one off glitch and Hattons attiude to this was exemplary
Hi Dave, so sorry to learn that you had all of those problems too - you're certainly not alone - I've had tonnes of messages about the problems with these - hope your new one is much better!! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Ha ha love the way you turned it up the right way up in the box for the close up shots. I have an unlined BR black version and was a little surprised it pulled as much as I don't think mine would after wheel slipping on the spot when hitting a kink in the rails with no load to pull. I'll have to give it a go at some point. The kink has since been removed.
haha yeah - I noticed just a little too late! Ahh very interesting - yeah give it a go - if it's as heavy as mine, you should be impressed! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam'sTrains Well I gave it a go and to my surprise it pulled 10 coaches with just a little trouble on one part of my layout, even managed 7 on a 2% incline.
I quite like the new look you have on your video here. Not a bad looking model for the age, but your right on those pegs sticking out the back. Also, the model railroad club I belong to gets asked that same question all the time, "how fast can it go?". We're always reluctance to speed up because it just doesn't look good at the high speeds. Great job again Sam! -Adam
Thanks a lot for that - glad you like the changes! I agree - I hate running them so fast, but I know it's entertaining for younger folk, so I give in once in a while ;D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Do you recommend getting the new hornby one or dapol one? I love large prairies the train sim one from victory works is so so lush the colours sounds and everything are great! You should get it(if your interested)
OK, the train sim one is 11.99 I think, on steam, but if you get it in a sale you could get a bargain. I got mine for 4.99! Also I got for only 79p on steam a maroon Western diesel which came with 5 free mk1 choc creams!
Hi there Sam, I love these locos, big or small. The reason they were nicknamed "tanner oners" is the size of the old sixpence and penny represents the size of the small and big wheels. Have a Google of the coins and you'll see! Great work as ever, Terry.
£140 pounds?! Gordon Bennett! That's a lot! Especially as I've got a few other things on my list. My large prairie is older than yours, mine is 46 years old! Its BR early creast lined black which is incredibly nice! It's one of the Airfix editions, got it brand new, never been used for 45 years! Bought it for.... £30!!!!! Literally best price ever! Haha :D however Yours being a later version has a little bit more detail but not much. 6106 is at Didcot yes. When I last went I stood in the cab of it. Comparison between this one, New hornby one, and Dapol one would really be interesting
I know - it really is! I'm hoping there's something outstanding about that one!! ooh crikey - I wonder if that'd work after 45 years of no running?? Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hi Sam. The reference to the "Tanner" for the 61xx class of prairie goes back to "Old Money" where a "Tanner" was slang for a "6 penny piece". They were silver in colour (originally made of silver) a two "tanners" equalled one "Shilling". An old shilling is today's five penny piece, making a tanner worth today's two and a half pence. I hoe you can understand my latest piece of trivia. Regards, Alan. PS. I love your videos including the more "off the beaten track" ones. It all adds fun to the day.
Hi Alan, thanks for the info on this - I think I found some info on that, but I didn't understand much I'm sorry to say - thanks for this though! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)

1:53 that's the problem with storing your trains on shelves, and not in their original boxes! Thaty's quite an express engine! Very powerful and very fast!
haha true - but my life would be an absolute and utter nightmare if I stored them in boxes - I'd still struggle to locate the boxes, but plus I'd be missing the locos too ;) Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Ive been wanting one of these. One thing I've noticed about the new model is the lack of metal whistles, something i would figure they would include. I think ill just go for the older model and paint her cab and do it up a bit --- all the best mate
Thanks mate, I wonder if the final release will have metal ones?? You would need to add a cab first though - it doesn't have one at all, lol! ;D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Cool Prairie! Shame only one is preserved but as long as one is preserved, everyone should be happy! There’s also a Thomas fan Trainz character named William who is based on this tank engine!
Good Evening Sam, Your review of the Hornby GWR 6110 Large Prairie Tank is smashing. The Hornby Product Code of this model is R2098A, these were produced in 2000 to 2001, making this model 18 or 19 years old. I too have been searching up on the brand new Hornby GWR Large Prairie Tanks, they look awesome, but the prices are quite ridiculous, until we find them at retailers selling them at a much better price, so I would suggest you find any of these new Hornby Large Prairies selling at the cheapest price you can find. Now back to your classic Hornby GWR Large Prairie Tank, 10 coaches, WOW! For an old model, she's powerful and still got alot of strength in herself. 16:08, It is the 4575 Class, you remembered it right the first time. I can see 5 GWR Tank Engines and the odd one out is the GWR Dukedog Class 4-4-0 Tender Locomotive. I both like the Small & Large Prairie Tank Engines. Onces again a smashing review on the Hornby GWR Large Prairie Tank. 5 Stars 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 10/10 Kind regards Jordan Shingler 😉
Evening Jordan, thanks very much for looking into that for me! I agree - definitely not sure about spending that much! But yes - amazed with the power of this one!! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I have a model exactly like this from mainline. Its loud but so powerful and I bought it for like £15. Great bargain. Love the vintage rankings , have you got vintage rankings for 2020?
When the model is in the box, do you film the close up shots in the box separate to the wide shot? I can't help but notice the box is upside down in the wide shot but in the close up, the box is the right way up! Also how did you not notice the box was upside down before starting recording.... Just a bit of fun mate, great review as always!
Yes potentially you could, but it'd be more trouble than it's worth - you'd have to find a suitable gear set first, then rip the thing to pieces to get them in! Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great video! Do you think you could do one of LMS 6201? I found out that the Princess Royal Class is being redone along with releasing a TTS decoder, and I have since decided to get 6201, since it is my favourite engine. I've had bad experiences with eBay, so I'd like to know to pros and cons of the older version, to see if I REALLY should just go with the old one. Thanks again for the video! You've helped me a lot with determining purchases of mine!
my father has one of the original airfix models and it still stacks up pretty well against the modern railroad type models and runs incredibly well if quite noisy.
Considering the age of this model, it's still a great looking model. In my opinion it's a suitable option for thoes that don't want to pay for the newer model once released due to price. Great review Sam. Clint
The 45xx tend to have flat top tanks, where as the 4575 have sloping tanks. hope that helps you to remember what small prairy you were running. As for the large Prairy, it'll be interesting to see how well she'll perform if you do buy the loco.weather dapple or hornby. i my self, i have a large prairy of my own, but the most i ever let her haul is 6 Collet suburban coaches, because that's what i figured they probably would've pulled in them days.
Hi Sam. great video as always. I had this in the BR green brand new in 2005.This was the worst loco I have ever had, the wheels started getting pitted within the first hour and i needed to clean the wheels after each half hour of use. The second worst loco was the Hornby 14xx which was too unpredictable. My third worst loco I had was the Hornby Dean goods. All soon ended up in the bin. All my stock now are all bachmann and so far I've had no issues (3 of these are 15 years old now). Hope you had a good xmas and happy new year to you. CHRIS.
Thanks a lot Chris - yes not brilliant are they, I'm forever cleaning the wheels on mine too! You're right about the 14xx too - a very nasty design on that too, particularly the latest release! Happy New Year, Sam :)
Ooooo what a lovely locomotive :D. Surely I think I saw this locomotive in person at the east Lancashire railway. No 4270 or is it a different locomotive?
Yours is in slightly better condition than mine as I still required a front pony truck as I borrowed one off a Bachmann model, but it doesn't look correct. I am going to to have to go parts hunting at the first local show as they are rare to find.
I believe that airfixs the paraire and kit paraire were different toolings entirely but it would be interesting and probably cheaper if hornby offered there models in kit from as well body like an airfixs kit and chassis just needing assembly I be up for it. also if you want pulling power the lime small paraire although a little un realistic is my most powerful loco I'm currently servicing it and trying to bring it up to spec
Another great video! But it’s an end of a era, Gadwells gone! I think she needs to be included in a video as a official way of signing off from the icon 😉. I might buy the Large Pararie but I’ve got my eye on the Terriers and 0 - 4 - 0 Diesel Engines.
Sam I have some Hornby but I am considering getting Lego trains instead as they can be rebuilt to serve more than one purpose and I could set up Lego more frequently. Do you have any thoughts on what I should do ?
Hi Sam sorry to bother you with these but I’ve just inherited an affix large parie NO 6110 And it’s front wheels keep jumping the rails as it goes over points and turns round corners can you help Cheers Alfie
Nice review Sam, its quite nice for an older model. Saw Hornby are doing 4160 for one of the variants as preserved on the West Somerset Railway, was a regular runner until it went for Overhaul a few years ago. Think id get that if any. Looking forward to the new release, lets hope they dont do a 14xx on it, that and the Quality Control issues have shaken my confidence in Hornby!
Ooh very difficult to say - there are so many! How about the new Oxford N7 or the upcoming Hornby Terrier? The Hatton's barclay and P class are worth looking at too? :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
A nice collectible, good looking, and you can find it at a decent price. Not too far behind modern models. This one in the Railroad range for GBP 50-60 would be a good idea. Anyway, I'm in for the 5101, more usable on the secondary line I want to model.
I've been watching your review again Sam. Love this model and have it on my wish list. Just wondering if you have the new version programmed to test compare? Thanks & greetings
Thank you for another wonderful video. I do love the old one, but I think the new one would be a great addition. You can use it for a great comparison.
Excellent review of the model of 6100 large Prairie Sam 👍😉 I find it surprising that both Hornby and Dapol are doing the same model of this class and both will have a different price of model. I know there also a brand new GWR Auto tank with brand new tooling that I know has been released, are you thinking of going to buy one of these to see the improvements of the model in the near future? There one model I like to see new from any model railway company's is GWR 0-6-0 saddle tank No.813 to be released in the near future as it one of my personal favourite locomotive to see in model form.
Thanks very much Joe - I agree, very strange for both to do it, but it should help to bring the costs to us down! That does sound fantastic - I'll definitely look into that! :D Thanks for watching - Sam :)
This is an interesting one Sam, and for me highlights the dilemma that many modelers face today. People demand so much attention to detail with these locos, yet most people cannot see that detail when the locos are running on a decent size layout. You just look at the curves on most layouts, far tighter than anything you'd get in real life, so everything must be a compromise, so it it worth £100 more for the new model and meeting the demand for detail...definitely not in my humble opinion.
Thanks a lot Bob, yes that's very true - a very good point that! It'll need to be outstanding if it's going to be worth that price!! :O Thanks for watching - Sam :)
An excellent review, Sam. The 6100 Tank was a very good model, with an incredible pulling power and a good perfomance. The only downside of the loco (apart from its super speed) is the lack of detailing, and because of that it doesn't make it up to modern standards, but its something forgivable since it is an express model, and in those days the hobby was just for fun, and the engine was considered good if it losely represented its real counterpart, not like nowadays. However, despite its issues it is a good loco, with a good perfomance and it has the charm of being simplistic and enjoyable. I would suggest reviewing the new Hornby version, and maybe later trying the Dapol model. Anyways, I hope you're having a nice day and keep up the good work.
Great model Sam. She looks powerful hauling all those ten coaches. Hey, I just now noticed u changed your profile pic. Gadwall’s not happy Sam, and I think Mallard’s gonna get a kick outta you for defending her younger sister. XD Jk, u do what u want. It’s ur channel. Great vid. ;D
Hi Sam, again a really nice review. I like the version you have. Many pre-owned Hornby, Dapol, or Mainline models are available at Hatton's. But the most models are damaged. And the new Hornby loco to pre-order is expensive.
Go for the new model 2-6-2, I say. If you don't, how will you know whether it's as good as the model you've got now or not? As for preference between small and large Prairie Tank Engines, I don't prefer either because I like both types equally. I have a Small Prairie Tank Engine with flat-top side tanks of the 45xx class. She's an excellent runner on my train set track, and I haven't a bad word to say about her or your two models. One engine is as good as another, so the saying goes.
You have a wonderful review style Sam. Informative without a lot of irrelevant and boring details, interesting history and background, and then a good fun running session to finish off with, which is beautifully filmed. Keep doing what you're doing!
That's very very kind of you Andrew, thanks so much for that, I appreciate it! :D

Jordan Shingler 😉
Evening Jordan, thanks very much for looking into that for me! I agree - definitely not sure about spending that much! But yes - amazed with the power of this one!!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains It was my pleasure pal. 😉
I have a model exactly like this from mainline. Its loud but so powerful and I bought it for like £15. Great bargain.
Love the vintage rankings , have you got vintage rankings for 2020?
Ooh fantastic - yes they are super powerful! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I got one identical , but a mainline model for £15. Shes dead now , but I'm not sure why , but she still lasted around 2 years.
Ahh very interesting - sorry to hear it's dead now, at least you got some years out of her!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains thanks for replying and your videos are fab!
Cheers for the vid Sam. It's a lovely stylish looking loco mate!👍🚂🚃🚃🚃🚄🚅🚉😁👍
Thanks very much for that - really glad you liked it! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
i own a 45XX version witch is 1 of 3 dumby converted but still looking GWR like mines a 2-8-2 i think or a 2-6-2
Ahh very cool! I think I've seen those before too! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
When the model is in the box, do you film the close up shots in the box separate to the wide shot? I can't help but notice the box is upside down in the wide shot but in the close up, the box is the right way up!
Also how did you not notice the box was upside down before starting recording....
Just a bit of fun mate, great review as always!
haha yeah! I accidentally put it in the box the wrong way, haha!! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
i have been wanting this model so bad along with the Peckett B2 and was wondering one to get
Ooh I don't blame you - always very difficult to decide!! :O
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Is there any way the gearing can be altered? As you are aware this would then improve slow running and torque.
Yes potentially you could, but it'd be more trouble than it's worth - you'd have to find a suitable gear set first, then rip the thing to pieces to get them in!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Really nice model and video, Sam!
Thanks a lot mate! :D
Thank you for the great review for one of my favorite locomotives!
My pleasure mate - glad you enjoyed it! :D
Thanks a lot Caleb, I can definitely look into that, thanks for the idea! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
my father has one of the original airfix models and it still stacks up pretty well against the modern railroad type models and runs incredibly well if quite noisy.
Ahh very nice - yes I agree, it's definitely no worse, and often better than the detail on the Railroad locos!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Interestingly enough 6147 was based in Worcester at Shrubhill back in the day. If I get one of the new ones I'll re-number to that one
Ooh very cool, I didn't know that, thanks for this! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
If you do get the new version of it, do a double-header with them.
I could totally do that - great idea! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
When will you review your mehano Pacific?
I'll start the Mehano stuff soon! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I like these but I couldn't run them with my stock which is sad
Ahh sorry to hear that - that can be a pain!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Considering the age of this model, it's still a great looking model. In my opinion it's a suitable option for thoes that don't want to pay for the newer model once released due to price. Great review Sam. Clint
I agree, it really isn't bad - and certainly a good cheaper option!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Ahh duly noted Nick, that should help, thanks! It certainly will be interesting to see how the new ones turn out!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hi Sam. great video as always.
Happy New Year,
Sam :)
Ooooo what a lovely locomotive :D. Surely I think I saw this locomotive in person at the east Lancashire railway. No 4270 or is it a different locomotive?
Thanks a lot mate! That's very possible - there is one preserved, and also other classes of large prairie existed too! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam'sTrains cool
Yes a new one
Yes!! :D
Yours is in slightly better condition than mine as I still required a front pony truck as I borrowed one off a Bachmann model, but it doesn't look correct. I am going to to have to go parts hunting at the first local show as they are rare to find.
Thanks for the comment Ben - ahh better keep an eye out for some spares for that - good luck! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Love these, have a Airfix one in BR green and got another airfix one coming from e bay for £30 in BR unlined black .
Thanks Ian - sounds great, hope you enjoy them! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
What item have you preordered Sam
Sorry items
Ooh it's a secret! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Very nice video Sam enjoyed it a lot!!
Thank you Arthur, that's lovely to hear! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Ahh you could be right actually - thanks for the info on this!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Can you try and review the new hornby class 153 you can get one from hattons for under £100
Thanks a lot for the suggestion - I'll be sure to look into that! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Another great video! But it’s an end of a era, Gadwells gone! I think she needs to be included in a video as a official way of signing off from the icon 😉. I might buy the Large Pararie but I’ve got my eye on the Terriers and 0 - 4 - 0 Diesel Engines.
Thanks a lot mate - yeah she is - had a good run though, haha! ;D
Ooh yes - me too on the Terriers! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great review as usual! I so look forward to your vids. Thank you.
Thanks very much mate, that's very kind of you! :3
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I love these GWR tank engines. They just have a type of amazing look to them.
I agree - they really do actually! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam I have some Hornby but I am considering getting Lego trains instead as they can be rebuilt to serve more than one purpose and I could set up Lego more frequently. Do you have any thoughts on what I should do ?
That does sound awesome mate - I've never had Lego trains, so I don't have any advice to give, but good luck! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I genuinely love 2-6-2 engines cuz they have a well-rounded wheel configuration.
Me too! They really do look fantastic! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Sam it's quite clear you did two takes considering the box flips between the close up to the full
Yes indeed - I had the box the wrong way! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sensational Engine!!! I hope you do get the new version to compare. Regards, Benjamin
Thanks very much - yeah I'd love that for sure! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Lovely sam, such a capable thing what motor is in it?
I agree!! I was trying to remember - might have to just open it up!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains any excuse 😂
Could you do a locos through the ages running session?
Yeah! Check out my seven ages of steam series - that's an in-depth locos through the ages! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hi Sam sorry to bother you with these but I’ve just inherited an affix large parie NO 6110
And it’s front wheels keep jumping the rails as it goes over points and turns round corners can you help
Cheers
Alfie
Ahh sorry to hear that Alfie - I'm not familiar with the Airfix mechanism - are the pony trucks properly fitted?
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Thanks a lot mate - I agree, it certainly is! Ahh yes that would be a decent one to get I reckon!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Hey sam, I’m wondering if you could help me. I’m looking for a really characterised, unique little tank engine, but I can’t pick one, any suggestions?
Ooh very difficult to say - there are so many! How about the new Oxford N7 or the upcoming Hornby Terrier? The Hatton's barclay and P class are worth looking at too? :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam'sTrains Thank you :))
A nice collectible, good looking, and you can find it at a decent price. Not too far behind modern models. This one in the Railroad range for GBP 50-60 would be a good idea. Anyway, I'm in for the 5101, more usable on the secondary line I want to model.
Thanks a lot Oliver, yeah I agree - this was much better than expected! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
I've been watching your review again Sam. Love this model and have it on my wish list. Just wondering if you have the new version programmed to test compare? Thanks & greetings
I don't have the new one mate, but it would be cool for sure! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Do you get the Hornby magazines
Sadly I don't get any!
Hey Sam. Looks like you've introduced me to another loco that I need to buy... but I really don't need to buy! :-)
haha glad to hear it Alan - sorry in advance to have cost you even more money! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
@@SamsTrains If you do get Hornby's new version it would be interesting to see a comparison video between the two. Keep up the good work!
The problem is with model railways thier is a lot of locomotives to choose from
Great video! I really like the large Prairies! :)
Thanks a lot mate, glad you like these!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Thank you for another wonderful video. I do love the old one, but I think the new one would be a great addition. You can use it for a great comparison.
My pleasure Nicholas - it certainly will be interesting to see the new one! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
That loco is really strong. I can't wait for the new version from hornby.
Thanks mate - me neither, it should be interesting! :D
Cheers,
Sam :)
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Another great video. Liking the new logo as well. I think I might purchase one.
Thanks Sam
Chris :-)
Thanks very much Chris - really glad you liked that!
Good luck with the purchase mate!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Thanks a lot Valentino - yes indeed, only the detail let this down really - let's hope the new one(s) are even better!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
can this run on DC
There is an American loco thats number was very similar and it was a Reading T1 #2101
Ahh really?! They're like distant relatives! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam'sTrains no the T1s were 4-8-4 called Northerns names by the Northern Pacific for being the first to use them
Great I think if you do get this engine get the dapol one it is less expensive
Thanks George, I might be interested in that, I do like lower price tags! ;D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Where's your roller coaster? And also I love the knew samstrain shirt
It's gone sadly :(
Glad you liked the shirt though!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
As for which prairy i prefer? In short, i prefer both large and small. In my book, any thing great western is the best.
Good choice Nick - I'd be inclined to agree! ;D

Awesome video today Sam I would say yes to getting the new one
Thanks a lot James - uh oh - I better start saving! ;D

¡Oye! Vivo en el Reino Unido de Midlands, y mi favorito es el West Country Class! : D Gracias por mirar - Sam :)
Ooh, I see you changed your profile picture. Nice. Good review. I wonder if Hornby have made the loco Henry was originally based on.
Yes indeed! Going through a rebrand! They have indeed - look up the Black 5! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Sam'sTrains I mean Henry’s old shape.
Hi Sam, again a really nice review. I like the version you have. Many pre-owned Hornby, Dapol, or Mainline models are available at Hatton's. But the most models are damaged. And the new Hornby loco to pre-order is expensive.
Thanks so much Norbert - yes I agree, and pretty expensive - definitely not sure about that one!
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
My only 2 h.o scale steam engines are a broken black engine and a real steam green engine which I can't use because my transformer won't work :(
Ahh sorry to hear that mate - you should be able to get a new controller pretty cheap, if you look online?? :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
Great video Sam looks like a great loco
Cheers David! :D
I am thinking of that - they do look very interesting!! :D
Thanks for watching - Sam :)
