In today's video, I'm sharing my personal journey to healing Hashimoto's Thyroiditis using the Keto Carnivore Diet as an elimination diet. As a registered nurse and low carb health coach, I know how frustrating it can be to find effective ways to manage autoimmune conditions. I hope this video provides some hope for those of you looking for a better way to heal.

I had Hashimotos. A large goitre from about 19. I'm 61 now. The goitre was very visible. It had pushed my trachea to one side, breathing unaffected. TSH, T3 and T4 in NHS normal range. Biopsy on goitre about 5 years ago - benign. Decided not to have surgery.
Been on keto for over 5 years. No visible goitre anymore. No antibodies attacking my thyroid anymore.

Wow, I have a similar experience except my goiter appeared at 57. Trachea pushed to one side, endocrinologist wanted to remove thyroid and said I had Hashimoto's. I started doing my own research and finally landed on keto/carnivore a few months ago. I'm 64 now. The goiter wasn't getting better until just recently started supplementing with boron. I've been taking boron for about 3 weeks and goiter has shrunk to half size and I'm hoping it keeps shrinking. Boron is something your parathyroid needs and has been stripped from the soil through farming processes.

I am "blessed" with two Autoimmunes - Hashimotos and Fibromyalgia. I tried Keto, HF/LC and finally Carnivore. With Carnivore nearly all my symtoms got a lot better, I felt good and lost about 50 pounds. The only problem with staying on the diet: I simply cannot afford it. Organic meat and vegetables / fruits are far beyond my financial means - even "normal" meat is something I cannot afford on a daily basis. And a lot of healthy alternatives to gluten / grains are quite expensive in Germany.
Knowing I could live almost pain free, without brain fog and bouts of depression but not being able to afford it really sucks.

I thought it would take a few years to heal my hashimotos, but they have had to lower my meds twice, and that wasn't working so I went off my meds and had my labs done today. I'm excited to see where my thyroid is. I'm believing its completely healed I don't think I'm there quite yet but I definitely know I need a way lower dosage. I prayed for so many years to get rid of the inflammation in my body because it was so bad and to lose weight but nothing has worked for 8 years!! The inflammation is not completely gone, but it's down about 75%!! I am beyond grateful to have found out about carnivore it has literally saved my life!! Neisha, You and Ken have helped me so much in my healing journey. I never got a diagnosis. They tested me for everything, but they said, "you obviously have some kind of autoimmune disorder but you're not testing for any of them on the books." So, in 2020 after another $1,000 at the dr trying to figure out what this is, just to be met with the same poking prodding and no answers. I was tired, hurting for no good reason, and I didn't want to even start the pharmaceutical regimen I had seen them put all the other women in my family on. I started dabbling in Keto in Feb. of 2020, the more I cut the more I had to cutout. I loved carbs my whole life, pasta please, rice let's rock it, but now, I can't even stomach it. I dabbled with rice last week and i am thinking it was fried in bad oil. This is why we can't really eat out on this diet; you can request they don't cook in it but that doesn't always mean they will listen. I have been on an animal-based diet on an off now since September of 2023. I sleep better, I have energy, I don't need my afternoon nap. I'm only 38 by the way, not 83. Though I felt as if I was for years.
The best thing I ever did was go on a Danielle Diet. I figured out what was hurting me. I'm still learning too. Thank you for unknowingly walking thru this with me. You and Ken are a blessing. I pray Jesus bless you both always and in ALL ways!!

Thank you so much this was a helpful boost of inspiration for me after watching a previous post about Lipedema sent to me by a friend I went back to a modified keto for myself that has helped so much and not feeling the pressure from those around me telling I shouldn't do keto because it didn't work for them even though I knew it had worked for me. I knew this time I needed to stay the course and change what I was eating I have felt so much better and along with getting the compression socks and leggings for me has also been such a great relief. I had almost lost the ability to walk, and now, after 1.5 months, I have lost 5 inches in my legs of inflammation. I can move my legs better and not like I'm dragging lead weights. My knees are not locking as often, and I am able to do chair yoga and have been working hard on these small victories each day! Had extreme Hashimoto along with near fatal liver and kidneys failure....Plant based whole foods nutrition and lots of juicing saved me completely ! Selenium was very important. Sea algae was my daily snacks....fully support thyroid. Hashimoto is because of TOXICITY most of the time, or because of certain allergens, even pesticides can cause such disorfer, unrecognized molecules/matter in the body that respond in a defensive way, what we call auto-immune reaction. Cancer is also an auto-immune disorder, so is diabetes. By leaving the body time to detox, that helps the most. We are NOT told the truth about health and nutrition.

I am nit sure one formula fits all. I have been plant based for 20 years and eat rather clean. It has not totally eliminated the issue. However I will never touch meat no matter what. I think that what is very important over all is to eliminate sugar. The diet that helped me the most is one where I did not even have natural sugar coming from fruits. I no longer have such will power. But that diet was really life changing.

Cancer, like diabetes, are known to be metabolic disorders. Those in the know refer to cancer as Type 4 Diabetes, Altzheimer's as Type 3 Diabetes. Insulin resistance is the root cause of all modern diseases, including auto-immune conditions. Plant based is not nutritionally sound and certainly does not support the knowledge of anthropological study.

Andrea, if you are a vegetarian for ethical reasons you might want to look into it further. I was a vegetarian for many years because I love animals so much. Due to my health I eventually went back to eating meat but I felt guilty about it. The recent thought of going carnivore stirred up these feelings again. My husband and I have been eating some meat but we've used a lot of dairy and eggs for our protein.
A few days ago we were watching a homestead carnivore channel and he has a couple of videos about how bad vegetables are and how so many animals are killed plowing fields and how toxic chemicals are used. Dr Berry is in one of those videos.
The video mentioned how grass fed cows are good and they fertilize the soil.
So now I don't feel guilty about eating meat because so many animals and insects die from fields being plowed.

I have had Hashimoto Disease for 25 years. Unfortunately, I didn’t know it was actually Hashimoto until this year where I finally went to an endocrinologist and sure enough she confirmed my diagnosis.. Up until this year I have been on Synthroid & Levothroxine but still experiencing major symptoms. I have lived with symptoms of this disease for the entire 25 years. I finally started feeling better when I went on a Keto Diet. I couldn’t believe how much better I was feeling. The side benefit was that I lost 25 pounds. My arthritic joint pain went away, my bloating and gas issues diminished, my brain fog subsided. I still feel cold especially in the winter months. My endocrinologist indicated that I should remove gluten as well since it’s highly inflammatory. Now I’m on a quest to find the right nutrients to replenish what my body is lacking. I think in order to do this I have to see a functional medicine doctor. What are your recommendations?

Daily morning sunlight on your retina and skin is critical. Doesn't have to be a lot, even 20 minutes is better than nothing, but it's super important every day. Himan hormones are shot because of our broken connection to nature, in particular circadian rhythms.

We listen to complications or lies our entire life. When we eliminate the complications in the foods we eat that are not healthy i.e., the mixtures of chemicals in all packaged foods, and commercially processed vegetables, we simplify our lives. By removing all of the complications, we are left with a simplistic approach to life and our health. A Proper Human Diet (PHD) of Beef, Butter, Bacon, and Eggs (BBBE) eliminates stuff that clogs up our health. Notice I didn't call it food. Removing a lie reduces inflammation, and stress, which allows our organic bodies to heal.
I am new to a carnivore lifestyle and can already tell a difference in my health. I greatly appreciate your videos and honesty.

I wish doctors would listen to you when you tell them about your body. Several years ago I told my doctor that I know I have a thyroid problem. They always say well you're just getting older that's why you're gaining weight and feeling the way you do. That was so insulting to me. I did have a thyroid problem. Went to a thyroid specialist and I told her I was working on my health with an elimination diet. She told me diet has nothing to do with my thyroid. I give up going to see doctors.
All this time I've been working on my health by eliminating everything in my diet. Eating onIy meat, eggs, butter and bacon.I have been testing things out. I come back to complete carnivore I feel so much better. I'm still working on my gut issues. I get constipated easily. Haven't figured that out yet. But I'm working on it. I'm 62 years old. I'm doing things slowly but surely. Thank you for your sound advice. I love the carnivore community. You and Dr Berry have really helped me out through my challenges.

I also experienced a horrible bout of anxiety, insomnia and digestive issues sudden onset following a surgery. I felt strongly it was somehow related to the surgery but multiple doctors I saw blew the idea off. I tried everything. Ended up going to a naturopathic doctor and tried everything she suggested and nothing really worked. I would get some temporary relief from some of the things I tried but the anxiety was always there. This went on about 1.5 years until I ended up trying a parasite cleanse. I thought to do it on my own thinking it might help my digestive issues. I had a terrible detox reaction on the cleanse the first 4 days, felt like I had the flu, but by day 5 suddenly I could sleep all through the night. I continued on the parasite cleanse the full 20 days, then 10 days off, the another 20 days on. Completed cured my anxiety and even my monthly PMS symptoms which were awful. I still think somehow it was all related to that surgery. I don’t know if putting my body in that vulnerable state allowed some nasty parasite to ramp up or if I was exposed to something in the hospital or what.

Hashi here too! TPO was 381 and is now 17! This is my 2nd year on a keto lifestyle. I follow macros from Maria Emmerich. I’m still on Tirosint (150mcg) and Liothyronine (5mcg). I don’t think, for me, that I’ll be able to get off these two meds. That’s ok.

I have a TPO still over 1300 after 6mos carnivore. I really hope I can get it down.

@alexandramantikas3076 That's interesting too. I am hoping mine gradually goes down, otherwise I feel it'd just a matter of time until I progress into hypothyroidism. So far I still make adequate T3 and T4. I also use Lughols iodine to support.

Your story is so inspiring. I hope this helps a lot of people. I have been carnivore for 7 years and have just moved more into higher fat and less raw milk (my only carb source). It is extra challenging for me since I have a histamine thing and mast cell issues and I am all over the place. The only consistent thing for me that has never bothered me in any way shape or form is raw milk; but I had come to rely on it too much and am trying to cut back and add more meat and fat in. I am 3 solid weeks into more keto/less milk. It is surely taking my body time to adjust to more meat and fat. Even tho I was. high fat carnivore I had a hard time eating the amount of food I needed so the raw milk was my saving grace. So trying to eat as much as I need is def challenging big time. For me to eat what I need literally makes me feel like I wanna puke. I have a long history of severe damage to my esophagus so I am hoping keto takes me all the way into deeper healing. (My health story is actually nuts and hard to believe I made it this far) I felt like I was at a standstill with where I was so trying the keto-carnivore experiment for 3 months (not tracking just keeping my carbs from milk really low and really ramping up my fat & meat). What a journey! Def gonna share your story. I hope this reaches a lot of people.

I’ve went down a rabbit hole trying to figure out what diet to use. What I read was that most people (not all) with hashimotos have gluten intolerance and gluten triggers an inflammation response. Fresh/frozen veggies and fruit are excellent sources of carbs. It is an individual journey to find what is causing inflammation in your body.

Hello and thanks for sharing your important story. I am 63yrs and have had 'symptoms' like yours and many 'diagnosis' along the way for 30 yrs! I have finally found a Dr, who has found the problem. I have CIRS. This is a very hidden disease, 1 in 4 people carry a gene that does not allow the body to process out biotoxins. Those on a healing journey may want to research this out as well. Diet is a huge key to healing. I wish you all success and healing.

Many doctors don't recommend elimination diets but I found for Hashimoto's, chronic urticaria, and gut issues, it worked very well. I figured out what makes me feel good and what doesn't. It was about a two-year journey of overall healing, but I now feel fantastic. If I travel or eat things that don't agree with me, I hop back on my whole foods diet and get back to feeling good. Autoimmune presents differently in different people and you have to figure out what works for you.

Niesha I just love you! Not only for telling your truth but for being so sweet. I have a question for you, i have hasimotos and I have been keto for two month / started as carnivore and added veg back in. Anyways, I am feeling a million times better except for the exhaustion I feel. Is there anything you can think of that could help? I value your opinion because all of your symptoms were exactly the same and I feel like you know your stuff. Thanks a bunch for all you do to help those of us who are struggling! Bunches of love and best wishes to you and your family!❤

Thank you Neisha 😄 I have been diagnosed with Hashimoto in 2012. I felt tremendously tired back then and until the medication was well balance I had instant diarrhea when I was eating. It was hell! I did a month of Carnivore in January 2024 and 5 months without any types of alcohol. A very nice reset. I cut all gluten. Now I am more keto than carnivore but still, some, gut issues. I am aiming to start another carnivore month or more if I can. Still weight to get rid off as well, approx 30 lbs.
thanks for the video. Take care.

13:11 "Now I just call it the Neisha Diet" I love this. It's a great way to prevent food purists from wagging their fingers.
It's been frustrating to see influencers who follow a named diet 99% of the time, say "I know it's not 100% X Diet, but this works for me." You know it's because of "better than thou" commenters.

thanks for sharing your story, I was also diagnosed w Hashimoto, and keto DIDN'T HELP ME at all. I got extremely sick on keto. everybody is different, you gotta try what works for you, i tried keto for 6 months, and I had to give it up bc it made me sicker on many levels. The Mediteranean diet without pasta and bread, and without meat, dairy, and gluten works for me. Luckily for me I love fish and seafood, and eggs, so... One of the reasons why Keto didn't work for me because my body cannot metabolize fats as well as other people, so instead of losing weight, i gained a LOT more after starting keto.

I just discovered your channel and subscribed after searching for Dr Elizabeth Bright and boom. Great information. Thanks for that. I was looking up the BIBBI diet you mentioned. I noticed the Kiltz Keto ice cream has a little sugar. Have you tried substituting that at all? I was thinking something like blueberries?
I've had Hoshimito's diagnosed, undiagnosed and re-diagnosed for 28 years. I'm on a mega dose of NP Thyroid. When my T3 and T4 are barely in range my TSH is low. As a result my PCP prescribed 30 days at a time with no refills. I've had some horrid care by endocrinologists. I really needed a better solution.
