As a rather ardent Ford fan, I do particularly like this one. Nothing really distinctive from the outside, to make it look like a camper van. Clean and functional interior, and I’d be willing to bet, that with that track system, that seat’d come out easily for when you need to use it like a transit/cargo van Thanks Nick
I think this is a little beauty, everything you need for a trip on the road but can also be used as an every day family vehicle. It is a very versatile unit with a great sleek look to it. Great tour Nick thank you.
What a cool little camper! Love that thing. It is an eye-catching design. That would be a fun weekend camper at the beach or in the mountains hiking! Brilliant!
Great camper with some nice features - but (as is my perennial moan) no bog! I've seen a great T5 conversion that has a small compartment w/ cassette toilet, so I know it can be done.
The Wildax website shows a Thetford porta-potti in an optional rear storage locker behind the bench seat. But I think that makes it only accessible with the tailgate open, so, a bit of a strange choice...
So basically a reasonably good and reasonably priced implementation of a totally standard Cali-esque side-kitchen layout, but in a Ford van (and that's not a bad thing). The point about being a multipurpose family vehicle is spot-on and absolutely crucial for people who can't justify a full-on motor home. The rib-style bed but with flatter bench-style seating looks just about perfect! The pop-top canvas maybe not so much. Unfortunately the layout almost completely wastes the offside sliding door, but to be fair that's a difficult problem to solve -- Westfalia's rear-kitchen layouts for the Ford Nugget do better but they lose all the flexible load space; I think maybe Burstner might have cracked it but I bet you can't get them in RHD.
Pretty cool. My favorite to date. Would have been perfect for my daughter’s traveling soccer (football) days across Montana. 480 miles round trip in Montana to play sports. Get up early to drive 240 miles for an early match and come home 240 miles after the afternoon match. Perfect for traveling and waiting between matches. The weather is unpredictable in the spring and fall. Relax with a good snack between matches with friend, and even napping up top. Just perfect for parents in the last best place that are mobile with children, or just going from the south center to western part of state to watch a Saturday football game at the university of Montana and back, 680 miles. Skiing the Big Sky/Bridger Bowl/Red Lodge during the winter where everything is at least 100 miles. Perfect for a place consisting of 147,000 square miles and approximately 1 million people. A lot of space to cover, and no problem finding a mechanic that can fix a Ford. Fiat might be a problem. No Fiat dealers in 147,000 square miles. Approximately 600 miles across (east to west) borders British Columbia, Alberta, Saskatchewan, North and South Dakota, Wyoming and Idaho, with Glacier and Yellowstone national parks. Perfect van. I regularly watch your videos at the gym. Thank you for the distraction.
With the top hinged boot door it lends itself to a rear tent giving more usable space. Plenty room in the boot for a porta loo and nothing to stop you having a toilet tent.
This is a lovely little weekender. Some people say these things are overpriced but there is more to making these than meets the eye. It's not just the interior, it's the energy at the factory, the council tax, business rates, the wages and pensions if the team that builds them and the company itself has to make a profit. If they were too expensive nobody would buy them and the company would go out of business.
Indeed. It's very telling that of the many people who think these should be half the price, not one has set up a business building and selling them at half the price despite the fortunes to be made if such a thing were actually possible. 🙂
Brilliant compact vehicle. I'd be hesitant though, the mattress looks so thin. I'd be tempted to spend a few bob more and buy a machine with a shower and loo. But I get the attractiveness of it and being able to use it as a daily driver with flexible boot space
Apparently the square plastic spring things on the bed base in the pop-top make a big difference. And I think the downstairs bed is supposed to be ok because the sleeping side isn't the same as the sitting side of the folding bench seat, so they can make the sleep side reasonably soft. A lot of people get an extra layer of memory foam cut to size for the downstairs bed and keep it rolled up on the back parcel shelf type thing - it's not bad.
The new VW Multivan (not really "T7") California has the rear seats split (so it's only 2 seats not 2-3) and the results are actually not good. They seem to be more than twice the hassle to fold in and out of 'bed mode', and the extra supporting struts ruin the extremely useful under-seat storage locker that the bench-style seats have. Just one of the many ways that VW have messed up the new California.
As on overnight vehicle it would be ok, just out of curiosity is there a longer wheelbase version with a bathroom/ toilet option? I think for some no bathroom might mean no sale.
Apparently not from this particular converter, but many others do LWB layouts like that with a sort-of bathroom area. Ford themselves sell one as the Nugget (actually a Westfalia conversion -- excellent quality).
Gotta ask while the video is still fresh...do you have a camper van of your own as well, Nick? If so, are there any videos of it. Have a great day man!
With no bathroom at all, not even an outdoor shower, it would be far more cost effective to just buy a really great tent and a camping barbecue to cook on and you would have a much larger camping/sleeping area that would be far more sociable. Sorry, but it doesn't do anything for me........ well.... you did ask what we thought of it!!

You're very welcome! 🙂

I like it a lot!! Looks very cool
Nice to see a camper that can travel with five
Surprisingly hard to find when you have three children.
And you could sleep 5 if needs be with 3 on the lower bed if children a bit of a problem though if they are not the same chender
That is so cool! I love the seats especially. I'd genuinely love travelling in one of these!
Fancy bit of kit for the cost. Thank you! 🍷

Nice camper and excellent video nick 👏👏👏👏👍👍👍👍
Thanks 👍
Nice looking camper, but how long before you have a problem with the wet belt

Really like 👍🏻. On par with VW this one. Ta Nick. Much appreciated
My pleasure!

Nice, but couldn't be done with having to keep moving the rear seats to get to all of the storage. And where does the table mount?
Very nice. Would be tempted to pitch a tent for sleeping, especially when the weather is OK.
Very nice looks good nick

Perfect for solo photography trips. Where’s that lottery ticket.
Very neat. Thanks Nick!
No problem!
slick camper and great price
can we position/install another whole seat in those tracks and the two face each other?
Great looking camper. I wish they would split the back seat to give it greater versatility. 👍

Not a fan of the smaller van conversions, some neat touches in such a small space , but for me prefer a coachbuilt
Sorry Nick, I can’t help thinking they should lose the third seat next to the kitchen.
Nice van . . .
Would make a great mobile office too . . . Adjustable seating is a great idea . .
👍👋NZ🇳🇿🍻twa
I’ve always thought, how hard is it to get up to the top bed space, must be a nightmare.
Gotta ask while the video is still fresh...do you have a camper van of your own as well, Nick? If so, are there any videos of it. Have a great day man!
No, I spend enough (time and money!) on boating! 😄
very nice.
For a couple of grand more I'd prefer the swift trekker tbh 😊
Swift Trekker looks really nice but the curved ends of the kitchen worktop are a bit daft, reducing usable surface space for no real reason.
Can you get it with an auto gearbox
Double bed??
Very nice and compact every thing you need but not very good for wild camping no toilet
If you wild camp with a tent (as many do), what do you do?
@@MOTAHOLIC s*#%t in the woods lol
Very nice albeit no shower/loo 🤔
2:35 Did anyone hear my mother in law?😉
£68,000 with no toilet / shower - how many of these will sell in a year? I’m guessing 5.
I'd buy a boat for 68k and get off this island !! Lovely wagon though...
It is a Ford, yet, we don't get stuff like this in the US???!!
Does what it aims to do very well, pity they couldn’t squeeze in a shower & loo
Get a JDM vehicle conversion from say someone like Wellhouse with an all new interior and spend the £30,000 saving elsewhere.
Looks like great value.
It’s a camper not a motor home hence no bathroom they have their place just not for me but a cool vehicle non the less.
With no bathroom at all, not even an outdoor shower, it would be far more cost effective to just buy a really great tent and a camping barbecue to cook on and you would have a much larger camping/sleeping area that would be far more sociable. If you want a really big tent you should but a really big tent instead. Definitely. 🙂
Don’t see that money in that!
Very expensive, no toilet, shower etc.
And there is room for one
I could find a better van for 68:000,at least one with a bathroom, nice, but not for me,
That's good for you.
That second sliding door is a complete waste..a decent sized window would have been much better.
Has no toilet?
Transit 🤮
Love it! Adventures await i would image. Its a purchase by the heart (the head buys a caravan🥱)
