@@Red.E.Hustle It might be a good idea to get your own tools and supplies. Having your own little chest or container to keep your Embroidery Supplies in.
Great video. Love that Neita is watching you to make sure you don't do anything to her embroidery machine. Like a hawk. Lol Enjoy both of you on videos.
Mr. Fajita, uncoated polyester twill from twill USA. 1.8 oz Cut away stabilizer. I’m pretty bomb at patches. As far as sewing it into a hat. I ain’t got nothing for you. But message me if you need patch help. After you cut out the patch. Lighter to the edges. I think you used duck canvas here. Great video! Keep uploading!
This is an awesome video. I really enjoyed watching the behind the scenes of how the Despised1 patch was made. The both of you are amazing for creating my very first hat. Thank you to you both!!!
For the heat n bond on back of the patches... I cut the heat n bond a little larger than the patch. Also, If I'm going to iron the patch to the cap, double the heat n bond or use heat n bond ultra. The heat n bond will secure the stitches around the edge. This old gramma will probably give hints as she watches your videos...don't yell at me...just suggestions & I love watching you all. I watch so many TH-cams and it has kept me almost sane through this pandemic & hubby's health issues.
Spritz with water and those wrinkles will lift. Same for the puff. Melco will cut time in half or more. You could actually do several patches at same time. On the patch edges run around them with same color of the edge stitching so they don't show. Loved watching this video!
Have you ever tried the hathoop for single needles. Bought mine from Etsy over a year ago. It works for single runs. May be cumbersome for big orders. Yes I would love to see digitizing for puff embroidery.
Erik you know what else is good if you not ready for the Multi needle is the hand sewing machine check this video out, do some a research on amazon as well for the machine I think is great cause you can stitch after you make them all on the PE800. Ask me how I know cause I was working with my PE770 for years making Hat not FUN lol. but I made it happen. I am still going to get one I think because I want to use leather patches.
Thanks for the tip! I really want to get a glow forge and make leather patches for hats. I was thinking about just busting out the needle and tread and sewing it on. I was hoping the press would of been easy and quick, but i think i could hand sew in the same time. Maybe get a dedicated hat press in the future. So maaaannnyyy ideas right now lol
A couple of tips for you. Instead of using white bobbin thread, use black bobbin thread, that way you will not see the white bobbin thread coming through around your black edges of your patch. If you don't have that, use a Black fabric marker, by coloring the edges of the patch so you can't see any white threads or white fuzz coming through.
Great Job Erik! Hands off Neita's scissors though! 😂 I would recommend the hat hoop insert for your machine, it fits in the 5x7 hoop it's less than $30 on amazon. I have one for my Janome flatbed embroidery machine and successfully embroidered structured hats that I sell in my shop. I would totally like to see a video on digitizing puff embroidery!! Thanks for sharing!! 😊
@@Red.E.Hustle No, I used the same 75/11 needle I used for my normal embroidery. At one point my image was too big for the hat it hit the edge of the brim and I had 1 needle break. After I resized the image I was good to go. I posted a pic in the discord
So I used basic craft foam from joanns, but i did hear they have special foam for embroidery, both work. As for digitizing, it does require a few more steps, but not as bad as it sounds.
@@svmsales202 if I had the multi needle I would of attached it with a trace and tack down, but then again, I would of just done it directly to the hat. Lol

Excellent video. Plus learning curves
NOT THE FABRIC SCISSORS! LOL. The hat looks great!

Some people in the patch community use E6000 to adhere patches as well.
Thank you for the tips! I seen a video using that stuff. Im afraid of making a mess. I just need a multi needle lol
Looks good thanks good video

Yes, you have to have the bobbin in

Mr.Fajita stop touching Neita’s Fabric scissors. 😬😳 lol 😂 The hat came out good, trial and error.

Did you use a 3D software for that? Or just normal stitch?

I am really worried about it ruining the structure, but you have no issues?
Nope, no issues they pop back in place.
@@krafteezkreationz i might have to try it then, thats my biggest worry, do you up the needle size?

Do you remember what the hoop was called? Is it universal?
Awesome video! I always wondered how people did this. Do you have to use special foam or digitize it differently for puff embroidery?
So I used basic craft foam from joanns, but i did hear they have special foam for embroidery, both work. As for digitizing, it does require a few more steps, but not as bad as it sounds.
Get a cardboard box to do the spray basting. Keeps the overspray from gunking the table up
I should!! I also paint and finish wood signs on it. Bunch of dried poly on it too. Luckily it scrapes off easy. Im a mess, poor Neita

Why not just sew the patch on?
