Why on earth would you disassemble the shoes that far just to replace a cylinder?
You can just take out the retaining clips & pins & then pull the shoes slightly forward for access.
Of course if you’re replacing the shoes or cleaning/replacing the spring assembly but it is not required to strip if not.
