I love the sound and view of the rain while you were in the car. I was born in a tropical country, and now live in California where we don't get much rain (until last year) so when I see and hear rain, it warms my heart. I did like that smaller curio for $55. I thought it had some unique qualities and is a good size.
I lived close to a creek as a child, windows open. Later a small town next to the Ohio River with a new tin roof. Totally 💯% Amazing. With the exception of cleaning up a village afterwards. 🤮 Once again I live close to a river ’much’ smaller yet a tributary to the Ohio River. ♥️ it, always able to smell the long awaited rain 🌧 by the odor of yeast. Great question! Sometimes there will be a tag on the back (I have one from goodwill that says “handmade in India” on the back). Other times, I find it helpful to look at the backside and the edges. Machine made rugs will often have edges that appear stitched or wrapped - whereas handmade ones often have a more woven edge with fringes. And the back of a handmade rug seems to show more of where each fiber was attached - as opposed to machine rugs where the backing is often more coated with less visible individual yarns. I’m no expert and I’m still learning… so I’d love for any rug experts to weigh in here!
