I certainly agree with the first point and fourth points. This advice has always served me well. Too often I talk to people who complain about never moving up in their job field. They ask me how I've moved up in almost every job I've ever had. What I tell them is that I always volunteered or put my name in the hat to take on or join some project. I volunteered to take on roles and tasks. That's how I got my first leadership position. I volunteered to help out a department that was overworked. I just help someone else do the same thing. They asked me what It would take to get a leadership position at our job. I told them to just volunteer to help out the manager and take on some of the tasks of the role. I started really revamping my resume after Covid. Every position people reached out to me about applying for pays more than the jobs I had before it, since I did that
Agreed. Apply anyway, it's just a wishlist. Don't give up and continue to apply until someone opens the door for you. If you get zero hits, work on your resume. If you get the interview but not the job than work on your interview skills.
Me going from a PC Tech to now a Network Administrator and working towards becoming an Engineer.I have nothing to add to this video. This video is a golden ticket lol.
Really appreciate this video brother. Tip 9 is me all day. Being new to the field and having those tough interviews kind of had some negative affects on me and my ability to succeed within the tech industry. However, I need to take the negatives and turn them into positives. Thanks again!
Thank you for this video. Usually I read your articles on Twitter. Following your motivation I got an AZ 900 and Juniper Junos and Azure AZ 104 this year. Thanks a lot for all the motivation content and inspiring me in my IT journey Du'An Sir. Also thanks for this video. You are our mentor and guide that I found this year in tough times.
def feel burned out in desktop support. i like what i do and great field but doing this for a few years its starting to feel like its time for a change. appreciate you and your videos. i will be a CCNA!
You hit the nail on the head when you said job descriptions requesting 5+ years experience of a technology that has only existed for a year!! That's so annoying 🙄 lol
You read my mind and been having difficultly with getting into a new role. Would love what certs or what you think is a good transition, ie Cloud or security or network?
Thanks for the info. I am interested in IT, but no knowledge or experience. I just started Google IT Support Program is that a good place to start? I really don't want to spend money going back to college right now. Can you advise me?
