The main people that I know of who sell firewood are guys who cut trees down for a living. They charge more to haul the wood off, use whatever of it they can to make lumber with a sawmill, and sell the rest as firewood. If you sold firewood bundles for 5 bucks each, for example to a corner store so they could resell them for a few bucks profit, and your goal was to gross 100k, you'd have to sell, like, 230+ cords to reach that goal. That's way too much work for such a small profit margin. On the other hand, as a content creator, you can do exactly what you're doing, and at some point, the stars will line up for you and you'll be right where you want to be.

Yeah it’s definitely not a get rich business. I’m just hoping to make it a small part of a larger company. Thanks for the comment.

Im starting my "hobby on the side" firewood business this month (northern NY) with a simple roadside stand selling loose stacks, kindling, and bundles sourced from wood that I have been accumulating for about a year (10-12 full cord) Seeing how you are fairly new to the same hobby, how long did it take to start selling on a semi regular basis? What months have you found to be better selling than others? How many loose stacks or bundles do you end up selling in a given month? Hope sales r doing well and thanks in advance for the response.

Sounds like you have a pretty good plan to get started. Once I set up the stand I started getting sales right away. Most of those came from my Facebook marketplace ad. I started in November of 2023. I think I sold about 40 bundles the first month and 50 in December. January was my busiest month with about 60 bundles. Feb and March have been pretty slow. We had a warm rainy winter here. I noticed I had a lot of camping customers the first month. Hoping to take advantage of that this summer and fall and get bundle sales over 100 per month. My kindling and firewood bundles have been my best seller. I was surprised the loose stack didn’t do as well since it’s a much better value. We are adding some new products this fall and more advertising. You def learn on the fly with this business.
