Jose Bermudez haha thank you for that. The tip doesn’t light up. But it didn’t light up before either, with the beam of light instead of LEDs. I think there’s a reflective thing under the tip that is supposed to reflect light back downwards instead of letting it leak through the top.

Very cool. Something I think would be cool to see is modding the blade holder to have an led in it and so the saber can be activated without the full blade in it. I don’t always have my blade in the hilt to just enjoy the sound of igniting and the hum of the saber.
You are my new favourite TH-camr hands down because you do the one movie franchise I love and people might say what about star war theory but you bring Star Wars to life
I've been thinking about getting an ultrasabers empty hilt so I can customize it to be my own. New soundboard with smooth swing, the best LEDs with flash on clash, and a great speaker.
let me know if that works at all.. ive heard the neo pixels may require a different battery, or the soundboard may not even deliver enough for the neo..
@@Jok3rsFaVor Power is my main concern as well. Worst case I have to switch out the battery pack or board entirely for a crystal focus X. Still much cheaper than buying a custom saber, it would still have the blade quick connect.
@@Knilaros The Luke legacy saber has 2 emitters. One for display and one for a blade. When you unscrew the hilt to change the emitters it has a Neopixel kind of ring adapter inside where the blade emitter will connect. When I saw that I got curious to know what happen if I put my Neopixel blade on it. It's not the pin connectors but the 3 ring connector like on blades so it was not easy to connect them together. I used little cables to connect the rings. The hilt did the sound it does when you connect a blade but all I could get was 1 pixel lighting up very dimly and it was white. My Neopixel blade has a resistor at the base so maybe that blocks power and doesn't allow it to light up all the way but most likely it has to do with the blade not receiving data for all the pixels so only the first one light up. I really think you would need to do a whole swap of the board and battery in order to have proper Neopixel work but I think it would be a cool concept.
I've seen other videos where the reviewer has mentioned that Savi's Workshop blades aren't as bright as those of third-party Lightsaber manufacturers. So I'm wondering do better batteries make a difference to how bright the Savi's blades are? Or is it a case of considering switching out the LEDs? It would help if we knew exactly what these LEDs are.
Batteries shouldn’t make a difference in the brightness because LEDs require so little power. But I’m not sure what makes some LEDs brighter than others
@@StarWarsIRL It depends on the quality of LED, what they're made from, how well they're made, how efficient they are, the voltage and ampage they're rated for. More expensive ones could be more efficient, producing more light at the same power level as cheaper ones. Plus if they're well made they're usually more durable and able to take more power. Another thing is what power, voltage & ampage they're rated for, which you'll probably have to look up if you can find their product number. It is possible that for safety the Savi Lightsaber reduces the power so as not to burn out the LEDs, so changing them and any resistors connected to them could give you brighter blade. Though this is speculation on my part.
Parker Pattillo it’s really tricky to do that in a video because cameras are so sensitive to that kind of light, but I can tell you right now that I don’t think it’s as bright as it was in the Disney blade. That’s because The Disney blade is perfectly clear, while the saber forge blade is a “cloudy“ plastic. It’s not completely transparent. So some of the brightness might’ve been lost there. It could also mean that the batteries are running low on my Disney hilt. I haven’t charged that thing once since I’ve gotten it, so who knows! But others have suggested looking into a neo pixel blade which are supposed to be much brighter! So I might give that a shot!
The Custom Saber Shop has clear blade components if you want to try that too. I think changing out the led might make things difficult with voltages and such. You got my sub. Thank you for doing these videos.
Great video quality, you’re killing it man. I don’t own any saberforge blades but I want to make sure I’m understanding this mid correctly, are you swapping the Disney plastic for thicker plastic/polycarbonate blade? Are there other differences I missed? I understand that for combat a thicker grade/gauge(?) of material is going to be better but are there any other benefits or even cons to doing this mod?
The Dan-O Channel I think you’ve nailed it! The Saberforge is a stronger polycarbonate blade. The downside is that because this new blade is thicker, and light has to pass through more material, it doesn’t appear as bright as it did with its original Disney blade!
