Blimey Rob... Looks superb, but there's something seriously amiss there buddy??? Try it again with Shoeburt strapped to the top perhaps?!! 😂 I'm sure your next attempt will be ripping!! 👍 👍 👍
Hi James. It blooming well better be, but may have a little issue with cogging as it's another sensorless motor. Many thanks and Shoebert and the family will be making an appearance soon guys.🐿️🐨
I hear you Craig but I'm trying not to spend any money and the steel was all I had. but if nothing else it should help it not wheelie when I put in my faster motors. Many thanks and all the best my friend.
I'd solder on a new battery connector there, those tamiya plugs aren't great with lipo batteries & brushless power, they tend to melt. XT60 is a decent plug to have on there & then use a deans to xt60, i do that myself on a brushless stampede 2wd with a 3300 kv motor. Also has to be something with the dual rate on the throttle there on the radio worth checking the manual for that as well as gear up a bit, can for speedruns probably run like a 23t pinion just fine on 2s. Could also be a dodgy connection with the Tamiya to deans plug, which is another reason to get away from Tamiya plugs imo. Or maybe the battery was discharged & it was cutting into protection mode ? Full power of a 2s should be 8.4v as well btw in case its something there.
Thanks for all the advice. I had thought of changing the connector but honestly I'm a lazy old fart and new I was only going to run this setup once so couldn't be bothered😁 The transmitter settings checked out fine so I think something must have happened to either the motor or ESC. Many thanks and all the best my friend.
That was unexpected 😢 You sure about your end points on the ESC / radio ? A DT02 with the basic 540 does about 20 mph (LiPo) 😅 At least, it will be easy to improve 😊 Like the long design, well done 👍🤝
You an me both dude. It was a cheap Chinese ESC and couldn't figure out how or if you could change the settings but I was only going to use it for this first run so onwards and upwards with Sky RC and Hobbywing ESC's from now on. Many thanks and all the best my friend👌👍😉
Hi Fil. Now I know why this ESC/motor was in my spares bin🤪😂🤣All my friends will be joining in at some point (Well if I don't destroy it first that is). Many thanks buddy.
Oh, yes, Rob! That's a cool chassis extension, definitely keep the stainless top deck, it looks awesome! Like you said, who cares about the speed, he he... Just stick in a proper brushless system and get back at it with a vengeance, he he! And don't forget Shubert!
Great try Rob, but wth is going on with your set up mate?? Glad to hear your going to try other set ups. Awesome new tablet.. I'm working on my brushless Clod, hope to have a video soon.. ATB my friend!!!
Hi Bob. Well that was just a shake down run to see how the thing goes now it's 4 and half inches longer. But I was expecting it to be faster. So that setup is back where it belongs in a box to be forgotten about😂 Next run will be faster and by the end I'm hoping for 60+ Cheers matey.
Hey Rob what on earth is up with that? Dodgy brushless set presumably? Like Mark says it looks fast but it isn't! Hope you get it sorted and come back with some better speeds. Uncle Bob has done alarmingly well at this already. Best wishes mate 😁👍👍
Hi Pete. Very dodgy cheap Chinese shite and back in the spares bin. Next run got a SkyRC Leopard system. Still sensorless so may have some cogging issues but we have a long way to go yet. I've still got my crazy motor for my last run hopefully. Many thanks and the same to you and yours fella.
Not sure what went on but have checked all that so may be the motor is faulty. So all change for the next run with a SkyRC Leopard system. Many thanks and all the best my friend.
I wonder whether u need to swap a couple of the motor wires over. One of mine was slow like that with the correct colours joined, but I swapped a couple of the wires over ie blue to orange etc and it rocketed! Possibly try that. Could have been Friday arvo in the factory and didn’t put the correct colours on the wires, got em all switched up
Hi Graeme. Thanks for the advice, I had similar a few years ago but honestly this was a shakedown run and it was bloody hot and I just wanted a sit down so we legged it🤪😂🤣 Next time will be faster for sure. Many thanks and all the best my friend.
Huhh ?? did it really do 25 kph only ?? what did u do wrong ? forgot dualrate adjustment or something else ? Maybe some cheap chinese shit motor/esc ??
Great platform for the next motor and esc.... brilliant fun indeed!
Definitely all change for the next run. Many thanks and all the best my friend.
Nice one 🤣🤣
Thanks Mark😅👍

Throw in the beaver, and this is a completely different video. ;) Rob is doing the classic sand bagging maneuver.
You caught me out Paul. Def better and faster things to come. Many thanks and all the best fella.
Maybe not the fastes, but a number which can be worked with. I'm pretty sure with these long chassis there'll be more possible.
You bet Dirk. Yeah better electronics coming soon. Many thanks and all the best dude.
You ought to do a DT02 Drag racing championship .bit of carbon fibre instead of the heavy stainless would get it going with a good motor ..
I hear you Craig but I'm trying not to spend any money and the steel was all I had. but if nothing else it should help it not wheelie when I put in my faster motors. Many thanks and all the best my friend.
The bad news Rob is only 16! but the good news Rob is yours is slightly longer then Marks😉👍
🤣🤣🦫🦫👍👍
You got that right James 😂😁🤣🤪 Many thanks buddy.
Love your vids and yalls banter. Just two buds and some sick rcs
It's all scripted and rehearsed honest🤪😂🤣 Many thanks and all the best buddy.
Hi Rob, that was an exciting run you had there. Dont worry about the speed as its the taking part that counts 👍👍👍
Stuff the taking part. I want to win😁😂🤣🤪Many thanks for organising this mate

A mean machine, just needs a big ol' powerplant to get her moving! Toss in an angry Koala and you've got yourself a recipe for speed!
Hi Fil. Now I know why this ESC/motor was in my spares bin🤪😂🤣All my friends will be joining in at some point (Well if I don't destroy it first that is). Many thanks buddy.
Oh now, it certainly looked the part but just didn't have the go. Looking forward to seeing what it does on the run!!
Thanks Addam. Me to dude, hopefully it will be a lot faster.
Oh, yes, Rob! That's a cool chassis extension, definitely keep the stainless top deck, it looks awesome! Like you said, who cares about the speed, he he... Just stick in a proper brushless system and get back at it with a vengeance, he he! And don't forget Shubert!
Hay Mads. Thanks buddy. Yep that setup has gone back in the spares bin. Setup for next run is a SkyRC Leopard.

What happened there Rob!! I was all ready for a 40+ run there and smashing Mark!! You going to go again??
Cheap shite electronics but hay we've a long way to go and far better quality stuff to come. Cheers matey.
That was quite funny, sooooooo slow!! Better luck next time matey😜
Cheers Barry. That setup has gone straight back into the spares bin.
❤🏆🌞😎🔥👏😇♥️🔥👏👍🏆👑😍🤩
Cheers my friend😁👍🐨🐿️👴👌🫡😀😉
YES!!! FASTER THAN BRUSHLESS 😅😅😅😂😂😂
Not for long!!!! That was a cheap and now defunct ESC so far better kit to come. Many thanks Glen👌👍😉🐿️🐨👴
@@robbrennanrc cant wait for your next run. I am changing my esc too.. 👍👍
oh no rob . was it the dual rate or something?
Nah just cheap no name ESC and motor. Cheers dude.
@@robbrennanrc it will be a belter once thats sorted im sure . looks ace 👍
Should go better that that. recalibrate the esc or check your throttle trim. Fun video as always.
Not sure what went on but have checked all that so may be the motor is faulty. So all change for the next run with a SkyRC Leopard system. Many thanks and all the best my friend.
Hey Rob, can you tell us how you made that chassis extention? Looks alot of fun!

Hehe, Yes it did. Think it was the last one cheap Chinese shite motor/ESC. But hay loads of time left for faster runs. Many thanks Are.
