nice complete wrap up of techniques- I use the motorcycle mount already, remind me on what you labeled "booster strap" at 7:38 in the video, how/what are you attaching there
Exceptional video and beautiful skiing !! I really enjoyed shooting with the mega pole when carving on the ski slope. Can you give me some more information about how you used it and what was the set up behind the scene? Thanks and congratulations again!
Nice explanation of all the views, how did the carbon fibre rod hold on the backpack mount ? Did you needed to put some loctite on the side that is connected on the mount ? I tried the backpack mount indoor with some jumps, the rod did turned itself a bit lose...i am still looking at it to use some loctite, before going outdoor on the trials :) i also tried mounting an short selfie stick, but is feels quite heavy....just wonder if the 1/4 screw will hold it in certain mountainbiking conditions.
Hello Cookie! What exactly selfie-stick do you use with motorcycle mount? It is the Action Invisible Selfie Stick which Extends to 1m (39in), right? Or something another? 🙂
So what is the actual mount of the backpack? Is it one of those GoPro Amazon backpacks or is it a insta360 mount ? No link in the description? Could you let me know ?
Just got the X3 and going skiing soon. What would you suggest is the best mode to film with? Just let it roll with the 360 5.7K - HDR mode on a sunny day, normal mode in the others and then just do the editing later? Like for example time lapse can be a bit difficult to set in advance so would rather check it in the editing phase to get the perfect speed etc.?
Thank you for this video. For some reason the quality of your footage drops quite drastically for me after 07:25. It honestly looks like it's 480p footage. Is this just my TH-cam being weird? I am thinking about buying an Insta360, but worry a bit about the video quality. If it turns out like in the first minutes of your video, I think I would be happy. However, if the footage turns out like after 07:25 I would be mad with my purchase...
Do I remember song remix labeled as other alternative music sessions music and editing of edits of 360 videos in theory still processing and counting down the timeline of when that will ever upload to TH-cam? 🙄🎿👨🏻🚀🎶🎧🎵
I don’t like the look of when people “hold” the pole. It looks unatural and like a person doesn’t know how to ski correctly like what I see intermediate level skiers often do by not using their poles or dragging one arm back on one side when they get intimidated. I also don’t like the above head “aerial shots”, as you can’t critique your own skiing very well like that. My favorite, but most difficult to do, is where the selfie stick is at about 3 or 4 feet away from our sides, midsection height, preferably at about a 45 degree angle out from our front view. If we can’t get the angle out front at a 45 then I am “ok” with it just at my side, BUT FRONT SIDE would be so much better and definitely one where our hands are free to make our pole plants, and also not coming from our head like the silly looking helmet mounts. There needs to be a WAIST or some kind of belt mount and also one for the backpack as an alternative which should include an optional “counter” weight to balance the side of the pole that bounces around and also just gives an overall “off balance” type feeling. If you know of anything like this please share! Thank you! 💖💙👍🏼
Look into "sail video system". It's exactly what you're describing- harness/shoulder straps for camera mounting. I use it windsurfing a lot (you'll see it elsewhere on this channel). I use it on other ski videos too- but this way of hiking the camera is very quick, simple and cheap!
OMG You are the real Insta360 Guru - Thank You for amazing shots 🤠
🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Finally arriving on Sunday in Alpe d' Huez. Thanks for getting me hyped!
Great! Hope you’ve booked coaching with me! If not my contact il is on the video description! 🤩🤩
Really enjoy watching your videos :D
Thanks! 😎
The song is fire at the end
🤩🤩🤩
What mix is it?
I've been binge watching your vids whilst looking to book a ski hol. Great time for an upload, love your content mate!
Thanks! Hope you’ve booked Alpe d’Huez! 👍👍
@@Cookiesports that's the plan!
WOW thanks for making such cool vids :D
🤩🤩🤩
Superb, got my Insta 360 X3 arriving this week ready for my Morzine / Avoriaz trip in Feb, can't wait, great content btw
Hope you enjoy it! Thanks
Very cool! Perhaps you can add two further places/mounts. I put it on the front and on the back end of my snowboard...
Great shots from there… just need to be sure it’s fixed well!
Yes @@Cookiesports - I lost my cam one time...and got one spectacular shot form it from under my passing board...🙂
Interesting to see how you film your videos 😀
Hope the skiing/snowboarding is going well, thanks for the sessions over new year.
Glad you like them! Seasons going great, non stops snow for 5 days now!

“Booster strap”- like the booster strap on your boot! The selfie stick is just stuffed down inside it!
@@Cookiesports ok, I see it in the shadow at 7:43, thanks
Excellent video, Cookie! You sold me on the X3. What mic set-up are you using? Thanx for a great inspirational video ❤
Thanks!
Be sure to order through the link in the description.
Audio… I use an InstaMic, highly recommend! 👍👍
Thanks for sharing the setup. May I ask what audio recording devices are you using?
InstaMic 🎙️
Highly recommend! I use for everything!

Thank you!
What exactly would you like to know? I think it’s all explained in the video?

Carbon worked great, no need for anything. Highly recommend! 👍👍

When this was filmed there was not “action stick” so it’s just a regular one… now though I’d recommend the action one for sure! 👌
@@Cookiesports 👍
Where is the "mega pole" held/attached in 10:53 and 11:00?
2nd person filming holding the mega pole. 👌
Thank you for the great ideas! How did you the elevation and speed into your video?
Recorded the gpx, then use a telemetry overly in virb. You can also do it directly on the Insta app though, but not as many options on how it looks.
So what is the actual mount of the backpack? Is it one of those GoPro Amazon backpacks or is it a insta360 mount ? No link in the description? Could you let me know ?
It’s the Insta360 3rd person bag mount! Highly recommend, link in description under kit used. 👍👍
Have you ever used (big) nose mode?
No… but follow @cookiesport Instagram and I’ll try it within 48hours!
@@Cookiesports followed now! Nose mode is super useful for skimboarding where you won't have a helmet to mount on and you are using both your hands
bought a x3 and wondering if you use lense covers ? as I have seen mixed comments in forums about fogging
I don’t use lenses covers at all, can affect the image and cause glare. Just be careful with it and it’ll be fine!
Thank you , can’t wait to try it out in a few weeks time

For actually skiing- yes… either 360 and edit later, or single cam for less work editing.
I only use Timelapse if I’m getting “arty”!
Where did you buy the mount that attaches the selfie stick ti the ski pole?
Follow this link through and look at the motorcycle bundle…that’s the mount I use on a pole! 👌

C u at vasiliki this summer?
I’ll be there!

Odd… just checked on my TV and laptop and both seem fine quality. Highly recommend the camera- so simple to use and get great shots!
How do you start and stop all the recordings?
Press the record button to start, then again to stop!
do you use active hdr? what about sharpness settings?
No HDR, sharpness and all other settings all on auto! Simple and quick! ✅

I’m sorry I’m not really understating what you’re asking here!?
Have you ever got on a chairlift & had the camera on your backpack taken out by the bar?
Haha, yes! Only do it once an you remember not to do it again! 🤣🤣

Yea I find it more natural if someone else holds my pole
