The rhythm and bass here and squire’s licks really are exceptional. Absolute top class musical craftsmanship and musical ability being displayed here, so fluid and complex and full of life.
remi’s drumming is so perfect… beginner female drummer here, this song was one of the reasons i signed up for drumming classes, i hope to one day be able to play this one :) x
This really shows how fantastic Reni is. Drumming so well and energetically and not even sounding out of breath whilst singing his harmonies in tune! He makes it look all so easy, but Ian knows that to just do one of those things well is an effort! No offence to Ian, but I sometimes think he didn't cherish Reni's talent enough. Didn't treat him right in my opinion.
What a brilliant performance. To be fair I like Ian but he's lucky he had a band with such musical talent as they did. I mean all the best of their generation basically
Not reading through old posts but they supported Pete Townsend in the 80’s, and Pete asked if Reni would play a few tracks as he felt like Reni was like Moon
@@1888gp you never hear anyone talk about his talents. As far as drummers go all you ever hear about are John Bonham, Neil Peart, Alex Van Halen, ect. Yes those guys are amazing drummers but give others credit where credit is due.
Brilliant! No Stone Roses no Oasis. Reminds me of late nights with the top down and a pretty girl beside me (you know who you are 😉) listening to this song on repeat. #TheStoneRoses #SheBangstheDrums #Britpop
I guess that's the charm of it. Like how The Replacements were extremely unpredictable. Ian sounds like an absolute drunk live and it's kinda fun to listen to I guess. Hard to describe really. But also this band has like 3 really really REALLY FUCKING GOOD musicians so that balances out things for some people I guess.
Yes, so to keep it simple, he's not good live, he knows it and has admitted it. That's also a part of why he's good. This is a lovely song, very well written and composed.
The fact that Ian has always sounded so shit live does not help make them great, it’s a fckin shame cus the records sound so amazing. It’s not the X factor it’s just Liam and Damon etc aren’t perfect but don’t sound shit live or appalling at least on every occasion. Think people who say that are lying to themselves. Just sayin.
Reni... Reni... Reni... what an absolute gift to the music world you are
the heart of the band
L7D squire kind of rocked it too
Mani too
The beat master 😍
The drumming is perfect.Brings me to tears

I agree. Their combined talent creates an incredible synchronicity. Pure joy.
Enough licks for three songs!
Love this bass line
Man, I keep replaying from 1:58 onwards, that solo, those drums!

Only start listening to them in last year . This is clearly the most played song of all time in my Spotify.
Past was yours but the futures mine what a line

I'm a drummer and I find it so hard to be able to sing and play on beat
@@Dtown96 sooooo true
what happened? Did they have some sort of falling out?
Another great example of such a musician was father john misty when he was in fleet foxes
Where do you find any evidence of Ian not appreciating him???
When I listen to this song, it will always remind me of my 20's
0:22 you can see their setlist for that night!
Ian is iconic, writes interesting lyrics and has an edgy attitude. That is what keeps him in the band.
I love the fact that the best singer in the band is the drummer.
Liam Murphy Music me too
Why does he always wear fishing hat? Amazing drummer
Giuseppe Catha cos it makes him look cool
@@giuseppecatha He's from Manchester
@@thelsmadman3185 Haha. Jimmy Page 1970
Thank You! Too bad Verve 1992 in Grand Rapids, Michigan full recording was lost years ago.
John Squire honestly looks like he couldn't give less of a fuck. Love how casual he looks🍋🍋
cannot wait to see this in Manchester in june!!!
Play this at my funeral sham.Hello from Dublin Ireland 🇮🇪
Hello from Leeds England
Amazing...
for me, the drums in this performance were better than the original record.
This video deserves way more likes than it presently has. What a great live concert performance by the band!

Best band in the world
1000000% fact!
Reni is fkng drum genius. Sadly his vocals are turned silent.
The Stone Roses - She Bangs the Drums @ Empress Ballroom, Blackpool, UK, August 12, 1989

Reni is so underrated as a drummer

Good point.
Their best tune by a country mile.
Passion fruit and holy bread, love it.
Apparently John Squire was playing guitar that night...not that you'd know, watching this.
And mani was on bass too
Saw Ian Brown in the chippy bottled it so no story
Have you seen her?
Must have been filmed by a BBC camera man - Manages to miss the entire, iconic, guitar solo. Epic version though.
Boom best song off album
What happened to Ian's voice ??
Always celtic

Reni is in my top 3 drummers of all time, but je aint my favourite 'Rose.
That would be Ian.
Legend.
Love the stone roses. But sounds like someone's drunk uncle on a karaoke night
ScottishPizza you're absolutely correct. And that's exactly why they were so great. They were just ordinary blokes. And they were geniuses as well.

Some of the best bands going have had a lead singer who sounds flat but for some unique reason it works.
..... and this is one of his better performances too!

La mejor canción de la historia de la humanidad
this is a mix of Weezer, beach boys and kiss put together.
Ian is fucking lucky that band could play so well
We are lucky we have Ian brown. Some people are so ungrateful. What a frontman
no ian brown no roses
The only weakness in the band was the vocals get him out of the studio and he didn't have the chops everyone else was great
Allen Saunders His visual image was legendary tho.
Allen Saunders his song writing was also great
Forza anyone

I had never found any relation between this song and driving fast till i heard it in forza horizon, awesome soundtrack
