This is 100% pure class. A breath of fresh air in an atmosphere of overproduced, sterile wankery. All after a nearly twenty year hiatus, as well. Bravo.
It's a little over-produced but it's fine since there are already three raw Brodequin albums. The percussion sounds especially weak, unfortunately, as that was a defining element of Brodequin's sound.
You will eventually see the light :) Early 2000s brutal death metal was the best, on par with the great OSDM of the early 90s, but most people don't know about the classics of the genre. I'd start with "Festival of Death" which is one of those albums.
@@underground-radio-x as an old school death guy, the only thing i dont like in bdm is the vocals and too much hyperblast. That being said this album handles both with mastery, the vocals sound cool as fuck here, while i cant stand them on their first album.
Give a raise to the person(s) who engineered:mastered this album! Everything is crystal clear but still retains that classic traditional brodequin-style grittiness unique to brodequin and brodequin only! This album is soo sick!! Can’t wait til my black LP arrives. It can go right next to all their other ones \m/
This is the first time I'm listening to Brodequin and I loved it especially cos of production. It's peak brutality. I'd put it in the category of Devourment's Obscene Majesty album which has managed to achieve the same thing.
Its fly me back through 2000 when i heard Instrument Of Torture for first time, a timeless brutality, Thank Jamie and Mike for delivering such a solid brutal death metal !!!
Not what I was expecting in the best kind of way. Brodequin not just rehashing their old stuff, and the amazing production compliments their more mature songwriting and stylistic range very well.
I'd like to say that Brodequin hasn't changed in 20 years, but no... the sound is high-quality and modern, the music seems more technical, the brutality is still the same. Thank you for being there!
Nice to see them come out with a new album! I remember discovering them during my high school years back in 2005, shortly after Methods of Execution came out. They still got it 🤘
The sound of this album after track 1 definitely more resembles their other project, Liturgy. I didn't expect this band to come back and I'm super happy they did. Caveman brutal death metal.
I don't normally listen to this kind of shit, but I'm drawn to this album so much, and I can't explain why. I spin it like 3-4 times a day since it's release. Crazy.
Brilliant release after 20 years of their last full-length. Moreover, one of the few ultra-guttural blasting brutal death metal bands with their own distinctive sound.
Yesss! My shipping is on the way :-) Getting the vinyl, 2 Shirts and the "Instruments" vinyl. I am excited as a little kid at x-mas. I am 47 years old ;-)
The mixing is a master class, snappy snare and distorted guitars in the vein of grind, guttural vocals pure classic brutality, and that bass drum soooooo good
