I spend two to three weeks each time I go (it's 750 miles each way) and I spend the time alone most of the time (with my trusty dog Shasta) I try to go every four months. Time spent alone is special. I don't like being lonely but I cherish solitude. Time spent alone gives you perspective on life. To think about the things that are important to us, to make decisions that require some thought before commiting to them, and to just appreciate the rapture of being alive. Yes, it whittles down life into the most basic and simple. .....
