My Christmas and New Year were great. I celebrated 2 years of being a kidney transplant patient on New Years Day. So, my holidays make me thankful for this blessing.
Glad you had a nice Christmas- I spent a nice week in Wisconsin with family. We got lots of snow and cold for a few days. Played with the animals and ate too Much with several big family meals. We also went to the UW Geology museum to see the big meteorite my sister donated. Very cool. Good time.
I was diagnosed with acute kidney failure in Sept. My creatinine was 4.09 this past week. Little higher than 2 months ago but down from the 9 in Sept. Stupid hiking trip. I pushed myself too hard. Wishing you well post-kideny transplant. Changing my eating habits is really hard. Looking for a renal dietian.
My sister lost a kidney to Cancer in March 2020. She had no symptoms until finding blood in her urine one day.(We all gave thanks to the Lord, the cancer hadn't spread outside the kidney.) It's been 5 yrs & no cancer has shown up, plus she is doing fine.( She just has to be careful what she eats.)
As a kid, my dad and older brother would arrange camping trips in the California forests. Fishing, campfires, cabins, nature. It was great times! As they got older, unfortunately, the camping tapered off little by little until it stopped. I joined the military, and left home. Dad had to work more hours, and things changed. I did go camping with some buddies in the military a couple times, which was fun. My life took many turns, some bad decisions were made and led me away from being in nature. I'm glad I experienced the camping trips and I'll always remember them. Now, thanks to you and these awesome videos, I actually feel that bond with nature vicariously through your adventures captured on camera! It feels like I'm right there in the adventure with all the sounds of rain, snow, crackling branches, sparking up the gas stove, making your meals, the stories you tell, zipping the tent and the sleeping bag, etc. It's virtual camping, really😅 Anyway, I subscribed and I'm in camping heaven once again! I thank you immensely for creating this awesome channel. Strength and Honor!
Luke is just the perfect example of a genuine good man: disciplined, collected, honest, smart, and strong. Social media needs more figures like him instead of drama and other BS. Virtual handshake, Sir.
Hello, Luke. I don't usually comment on any web-site, but I thought that I should say one thing. Yes, most people might consider slurping your noodles when you eat as rude behavior. However, according to most Japanese, slurping is regarded as perfectly suitable behavior. It is interpreted as a compliment to the chef, like eating your food with gusto. And, there have been studies on slurping - doing so allows you to better enjoy the taste of the noodles as it lets the flavor components of the meal to activate the senses in your nose. As having a nose cold deadens the taste of eating foods, slurping stimulates the sensors in your nose to enhance flavors. Yeah, maybe this comment is a little weird. But I agree with the studies. After all, I am Japanese. Be well, sir
I grew up in remote Alaskan village with precious parents and 7 brothers, 3 sisters. I loved to slurp my soups!! Half my siblings didn’t but I did! Mmm makes good taste 100 x better!!
@@twoobwoo I will not visit Japan because slurping drives me crazy. Also eating with mouth open is just as annoying. How we eat is mostly cultural. I love the Japanese culture otherwise.
Wow! Sounds like you had a whopper of fun bringing in the new year bonding with your son ,Luke!! That’s soo beautiful !! I love playing games with my grandchildren! Excellent video ,as always!
I live in a nursing home and i camp vicariously thru luke i so enjoy the hiking and over night camping he is the bravest man i know 😊Thank you Luke for the vidoes and allowing all of us to go on your adventures please stay safe .what are your thoughts on inflatable tents?do you have to keep the air going like the bouncy castles?
I always enjoy your reviews and camping adventures. There's something special when you camp in your "cabin". Seems like a fortress in the woods that provides calm and serenity. Thanks for the content and the hard work that goes into providing it!
After what happened I have to give you all credit. Y’all are some strong people. So many people are displaced and that affects me because I am very empathetic when it comes to what happens to other beautiful people. I still pray every night hoping things ease up a bit. I know what you did for all your neighbors ~ Luke that was so kind and generous. We need millions more like you. You are loved and so is Susie. Much respect
Great idea about donating the property, Luke. I respect that so much. And, your dog will always rest in peace. Thanks for the videos, you have a great day.
Long time quiet observer here, but, just had to say you’re doing a fabulous job with your music selection and matching it all up to the appropriate scenes. Your video work has always been good, but, I think you’ve improved over time. Love your vids and keep up the good work! I would really miss it if you stopped making them.
With the help of your videos, I simply went out for my first solo winter camping trip. We also had massive rainfall (Netherlands & Belgium), with flooded mud roads and all, but I loved it. I met more first time winter campers during the trip and we all concluded: time moves fast when you're out there in nowhere. Let's go out more often.
Luke your camper tires will last longer if you cover them. This will protect them from UV light emitted by the sun which wrecks the rubber compound in the tires.. also known as dry rot! Stay safe and happy camping!

Sorry to hear about your flooding. The biggest problem is that mold can grow in your basement. I'm praying it doesn't get too bad for you and Susie. And yet another disaster on the other end of the country and so many people displaced and yet again their government abandoned them. I pray for a better year with better people.Wishing you and your family a healthy and blessed year.
New sub here, but long-time watcher. I'm glad you had such a great Christmas. We did too. It wasn't as epic as yours, but we decided to have a Taco Feast instead of a traditional Christmas dinner. It was fantastic! I hope you and Susie have a great New Year!
Major kudos for considering donating the land some day to a conservancy. At the same time, I hope that won't happen anytime soon because your content is just so good.
My daughter came home from Holland for the holidays and between traditional board games (not gaming! ;), movies and watching sports on TV, we had a great time. Some alcohol was in play but not to the extend that my mouthguard ended up in my bed and I fell a sleep in the family room....!🤪 Great to hear you had fun though!
Now that's awesome. Donating Lone Mountain into a fauna and flora sanctuary when you retire. How this tired old world and mankind are of big city lights and drama. It will be a place to unwind and just enjoy all of Mother Natures beauty and peace. My Christmas, like yours, was a wined up occasion. Cheers 🍻 and continue being you.
How many years can they sit there like with the weight of the trailer on them? As they sink into the ground the weight will shift to the stabilizer jacks which aren't made to handle that much weight.
I loved the story about Day-Z with your son and his friend. Also, I liked the music choice at the start... though I guess your music choices are always great.
Luke, I have been in 80 and 90 MPH winds in Gresham during bad winter storms. It is hard to even stand up in those kinds of winds, let alone a tent! Sometimes that is a LOT better than a tent. Hope you had fun! I want to go camping, but in winter, I do NOT have a strong enough tent to weather this snow. It comes down really wet, thick, icey and that combination would rip through my tent in the middle of the night. UGH. So I still wait for conditions to improve so I can do what you are doing right now. The only backup I have is going to a hotel for a week and having some good ole bible study time. That does in fact sound nice right now.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. My husband, granddaughter and I spent Christmas in Georgia visiting my sister and her family and loving every minute. We stayed at the state park campground called Victor Bryant. It is a very nice state park and I plan to return to stay.
Cool video. As a recommendation, you might want to get your music at the same volume as the rest of your videos. That music at the start was three times louder than your narration through the rest. Thanks as always for your honest reviews!

Friend had the same flooding problem like you have. Put a 'structure' in front / across of the back entrance. With a pump setup and steps over it. Think later he made a 'flood gate' he could open and close and sandbag if needed. Just a idea, good luck, you'll get more flooding till they fit the draining pipes etc. Water was so deep - his kids use to canoe down the back yard at times. 🙂
Great video as always Luke. I'd build a Temporary storage area away from your trailer for firewood, that way you'll always have dry wood. I always enjoy watching :)
Had a lonely Christmas again i am disabled as well never even got a phone call for Christmas but then i do not expect any that is my Christmas and New Year sounds like you have a truly wonderful son Luke.
I love you little off grid cabin/trailer, we looked into something like that for out side by side so we would have a place to sleep on trips but still have some amenities.

I lmao......so happy your human......and had a blast with son and family. My Christmas was quiet. Hope your New year, is everything you wish it to be and more.
Great show been watching you for years you have great recommendations on equipment but I’ve been very curious when you’re out cooking it appears that it magically cleans itself your equipment I’m wondering how are you do your cleanup out in the field or do you just take it all home and wash it when you get home in my experience the camping is fun cleanup sucks and takes up most the time you cook meals and then it’s like you’re just kicking back and relaxing but in my cases I’m spending a lot of time washing the pants trying to clean up everything making sure everything is ready for the next month Just was wondering how you perform these tasks thank you
I know how your feeling from personal experience. I live on the plains in Canada and I experienced a storm hat we never get here. I was 8 months pregnant and husband was out of town on business. They said the storm was hurricane force and rain so hard and fast it was coming up threw the basement sewer not just rain but domestic sewer. My father came over and took me to his place. We had to avoid the fountains of water shooting up out of the manhole in the streets as the storms worsened. When we arrived the water was out of control in his basement, the freezer was floating and stuff was floating all around. The water came up to the upstairs floors and was seating through the carpets. There was about 2 inches of water on the floors upstairs. We not only had the muddy water from the outside sewer but sewage all over walls and ceilings. We had to call in professionals to clean and sanitize. Thankfully there was no structural damage and my parents could stay in their home. My home was not damaged at all so lucky very lucky. So good luck with your flooding and I hope there is a fix on the way for you so you don’t have to endure that again. 😢
NICE! Sounds like a great time! As for mine, I had to work BOTH Christmas and New Year Eve and Day. Happy 2025 to all! Hope all goes well at the house.
That video game sounds like fun! I'm going to check it out when I get home. I'm laughing imagining you passed out on the floor. Suzie have any pics???? LOL. Also, the flooding that takes place at your house, can the water across the street be deviated to go off the sides of the road instead of across the street? Maybe with rocks or build up a small mound of dirt?
Hi Luke , I noticed in the 1st couple of minuets that your cabin is still on your tires , have you thought about jacking it up so that the tires dont perish and put it on some solid stands or something
Hey Luke I'am glad you spent Christmas eve with Susie and your kids then you started playing video games with your son and his buddy and I can't believe that you passed out on the floor off your house my christmas was very quiet and I had my family in my house at teatime we sat and talked with the TV going but not very loud it was the best christmas ever and my new year I just watched some tv and some TH-cam on my phone it was quite as well. 😢
Great video. I had a good Christmas and New Year. Take care
Thank heavens! Your place is at home with your wife and family. We can wait. Be safe!
NICE! Sounds like a great time! As for mine, I had to work BOTH Christmas and New Year Eve and Day. Happy 2025 to all! Hope all goes well at the house.
New drinking game every time he says "cabin" shout glorified horse trailer and take a drink 😅
I’d like more info on that cabin. Who makes it? Where did you get it? Looks like something I need.
Cheers my friend cheers!!!
