Can't tell you how happy I am to see this. 54 yrs old, this was a favourite made my maiden great aunt born in 1908. Taught to my long gone mum, and a family favourite. Not made it /had it in years, but I can taste it! Thanks Peter from another Peter.
Mmmmm, looks good, never heard of it but gonna try this one, love me cheese and cheap, you did Peters gran proud, thanks Adam, by the way i made your beef stew with porter, sooo good.x
Welcome back Adam you're moving? No more noisy neighbours I hope!!! Peter's Grannie's Cheese Pudding yes please it looks delicious and it's a recipe that I'm very certain Satan would absolutely love!!!!
I used to make mine like bread and butter pudding by making cheese and mustard sandwiches buttered on the outside then pour the egg custard over the top. Let it stand for 15 minutes then bake. It goes very crispy on top and soft in the centre. It’s delicious made with stale crusty French bread. Hope you’re well and good luck with your move Adam. Take care xx
ADAM!!! I've missed you so much! I'm glad to see that you're well and finally making the move, hopefully to a better home!I can't wait for the new home tour. Stay well and thanks for the vlogs!
Thank goodness that you are back. I had given up on cooking and was back to shoving ready meals into the oven. So looking forward to some great videos, inspo (and humour) from you. Good luck with your house move. x
Hi Simon, glad you are back after your new year rest…..I made your tuna pasta bake yesterday and will certainly make Peter’s recipe just to see what it’s like….👍😀
In the States its called "Bread Pudding" usually chunked up or cubed cut stale bread pieces, doused in an egg custard mix soaked a couple or more hours and either steamed or baked. And yes, usually sweet. Fruit can be added or topped. But there are savory mixes. A good way to use up old, stale bread. The cheese type is also awesome with chopped green onion, spinach and mushrooms baked in. 😋❤😋
Hey Adam, welcome back. My that sure looks good mate. I am definitely going to give that a go. Well done and thanks to Peter. Good luck with the move and happy 2022 🥰👍🏻💯
Glad to see you back. Been wondering what happened to you. Hope all works out for you in the next couple of months. Very nice recipe just might have to make it.
Nice to see you and Mogs! 🎉 That looks delicious, thanks to Peters Gran!!! However, it definitely needs some jalapenos!!!! 🤣 Hope all is going well, mate! ❤️❤️
Welcome back fella, that is so easy and looks so tasty, keep these up mate we need cheap and cheerful recipes in this climate at the moment this is one I'm definitely gonna make. Cheers
Interesting the comparison between an omelette & that pudding. Dry January LOL Good to see you are back - Now don't forget my porcupine balls!!! I loved them as a kid but have failed duplicating them. From memory my grandmother did them in the pressure cooker - she loved, adored that pressure cooker
Good to see you again, Adam! How much does Maldon Sea Salt cost there? What weight is the box? I love it for a finishing salt but you seem to use it quite liberally, so it must be economical for you. Love the pud recipe.
Welcome back buddy, hope you had a great Christmas and New Year! Another great video mate, always look forward to your videos, keep living the dream brother 👍
Well Adam welcome back I missed you kind of wondered what happened to you. We do have savory puddings here in the states my mum makes corn pudding, when of the few things my mum makes I don’t really like.
How much flour should I substitute for the bread. My son had a class in which they made grilled cheese casserole.i can’t for the life of me find the recipe made with flour eggs cheese and milk. Can you tell me how much flour I should use rather than using sliced bread
Welcome back. I have to admit that when I saw you adding the salt, I did wonder - and then when you were so generous with the Worcestershire sauce (nothing wrong with that!) whoops came to mind. As for the caramelised bits, I would probably describe them as a ten minute burn 😂 I quite fancy trying that one, whether as the recipe, or with a bit of ham in it with slices of tomato on top I have yet to decide. Although whether the tomatoes would survive the full hour or need adding part way through - not sure!
Maybe a bit of onion? Or spring onion? Can't understand adding salt at the start to something with a load of cheddar, and doubly so it you add ham (surely - crispy bacon?). Nice and simple though, it seems easier than a frittata. I was saddened that it did not stay puffed up.
@@jamesmansion2572 Yes, I thought bacon at first, but the ham I get is not as salty, and after Adams comment (and all the cheese and Worcestershire sauce! ) I thought it might add too much saltiness.
Please will you cover making breacrumbs in more detail. I note you used the cheap sliced in a bag bread; is that better? Every year I make breadcrumbs to go in the chestnut stuffing, have tried white from baker, sourdough, usually cut to small chunks then whizz in food processor. I used to take off crusts, now leave them on but still I get huge lumps not fine breadcrumbs. I have also tried putting the big crumbs on baking tray in oven. That helps but still not quite right. I remember my grandmother using a grater & grating bread by hand. Any tips?
What you can do is wait until the bread is slightly stale. This aids in getting a finer crumb. Ultimately though it comes down to how good your blender is and time. Just keep pulsing and it should be fine
Fabulous! - I tend to go easy on additional salt with any cooking involving cheese as that's already got quite a goodly quantity in it. Will be trying this recipe but shall attempt to do it as a meal for one in a small dish! Sad git, me.
Nice one Adam good to see you back !! Looked tasty ....perhaps bit too much salt ....... Can mix it up and use brown or wholemeal bread ..... Works well with last few slices left bread that just getting dry ..... Scrunch few crisps on top 10 mins before end for bit of texture and crunch .... Looking forward to more content soon . Good luck in move 🏚
