Gentlemen, I am a 60 year old rocker. I grew up with the great 70's and 80's rock. These girls and The Warning have become my 2 favorite bands. Just Fn talent.
Boys, don't forget about Akane back there on the drums. She is as good as it gets. All 5 of these girls are absolutely amazing. MISA, the barefoot assassin on bass.
Thanks gents. There is so much talent in this band that you need a dozen or more songs to really understand it. Band Maid is great on tone, composition, musicianship, and mixing. I hope your cat is feeling better soon. Cheers.
10th anniversary concert last year. 3 1/2 hour 33 song show, this was song #27. The collab with The Warning is out. At least the music video for it. Song is called "Show Them", listed as Band Maid with The Warning.
What always gets me is, at the very last drumbeat from Akane, Misa (The Barefoot Assassin) leans back laughing, as she looks over to Kanami. She knows they did something great out there.
By the way guys, there is another bass/guitar "conversation/duel" from this same concert. One of their songs "Don't You Tell ME" had that duel during the song. It was just as excellent. They did a collaboration with The Warning titled "Show Them" that they recently released an official music video of the song.
57 year old blues rocker here and I will testify that MISA’s bass tone during this concert was stupefyingly magnificent. (That’s the technical term 😏) This is one of MISA’s best solos, especially the second round of eights. I agree that’s why Kanami’s work is overshadowed here. But again, she’s put together some indisputably insurmountable solos of her own (again, the insider’s technical term 😂) “Puzzle,” “FATE,” “Moratorium,” “DICE,” “the non-fiction days,” and “Daydreaming” would be her finest work so far. Arguably, of course ❤
I've seen Misa lose the rear strap on her bass while playing Hate?, forcing her to drop down to one knee on the stage. She never missed a note even though she was in the middle of playing a complicated section with slides during the first verse. The other maids never looked her way. They were unaware anything had happened. I've also seen MISA play bass while lying flat on her back.🙂
The problem with getting older is acknowledging getting run over by a freight train of raw talent. And that, my friends, is what just happened to you. I'm 70, by the way. Loved it anyway.
This band is great. Loved them for a long time. One on my list: Band Maid, One Ok Rock, Wagakki, Doll$boxx and Hanabie. They are always best live. ALWAYS. Their best work is Domination, Daydreaming, Freedom, Manners with Black Hole, and of course all live.
They have another song "I Still Seek Revenge" Seems like the person they are singing about has nowhere to hide. A Protection From Abuse Order may be the way to go.
You don't see many bass/lead guitar "conversation/duel" by a rock band. First, it displays the amazing talent of both the "lead" bassist and the lead guitarist. Ask yourself what you would think if you saw this at a live rock concert. Band-Maid may be the best (I think they are) pure rock band in the world today!
Best wishes for your cat's health. It should be noted that MISA's bass was given a relic treatment by the builders before she got it. Which doesn't at all diminish the paces she puts it through, but clarification stuff, etc.
My favorite Band Maid song Manners and my favorite Kanami solo is in Puzzle You should react to Manners black hole live (although I prefer the official music video) and Puzzle live as well as the acoustic version Amazing
I hate to break it to you , but that bass is brand new. Black Cloud custom makes MISA's basses. And they come moderately relic'd. Her old 4 String Fender Jazz bass has long since been retired and she did have a G & L for a while. But since she got a Black Cloud Black Smoker she had them make her this replacement for her Jazz Bass as well as a Precision SG and her Signature Beta JB 5 MISA Bass. You can buy one.
Back in 2019, I scored VIP tickets to their first concert in New York which included a meet-and-greet, so I got to see them close-up, literally feet in front of me. The shocking thing to me at the time was how tiny they all are. You can't really tell by their videos, but they're all around 5 feet tall, like five little Japanese dolls you want to put in your pocket and take home. I don't think Kanami (the lead guitarist) even reaches 5 feet tall and MISA (the bassist), who likes to play barefoot, is not much taller than that. So having these tiny women on stage absolutely killing it makes it even more impressive. One concern I had was that when they would eventually become more popular and would play larger venues, they would get lost on a bigger stage. Seems I had nothing to be concerned about. For the longest time, BAND-MAID was actually more popular outside of Japan than inside. That popularity saved them from being broken up back in 2014 when the video of "Thrill" went viral. Their management knows how popular they are overseas, so a few years back they went and added subtitles to their earlier videos. I didn't need subtitles back then and I don't need them now to appreciate how good their music is. I think that trying to read subtitles distracts from hearing all that is going on in their music, which is quite a lot. Go back and listen to any of their songs and you'll hear things you never noticed before.
@@shytweedabone2663 Thank you. That year, I came down with arthritis in my hip, but that wasn't going to stop me seeing their show. I was on my feet for about four hours that night and was hurting for days after, but it was so worth it.
MISA's bass guitar is distressed deliberately, It's actually fairly new. It was built for her. Not bad for 4 very talent ladies and 1 very very smart 800yo Pigeon, Huh!!
I get the appeal for reliced or distressed guitars. I just assumed with her talent and ability that she wore it out. Rich Robinson from The Black Crowes loves them also because they feel lived in from jump street. I have a few hand painted guitars that I did for a similar reason. Bone.
The bass player MISA aka the "Barefoot Assassin" because she plays barefoot is the tallest member at almost 5'8" so she really is not small. Her bass has a custom distressed look.
I saw them in person close-up and I can tell you that's absolutely horse crap. There's some clown who's been spreading this around in the comments of videos for years. In fact, she keeps getting taller the more he comments. At most, she's about 5' 2" which is about average for Japanese women. Don't believe me? Go look at any of the photos of them taken together. If she was that tall, she would tower over the others, but she doesn't.
I would agree with Drake, the first time you hear a Band-Maid song, leave the CC off. Unless it's highly suggest you leave it on. "Endless Story" is a good example of leaving it on as there is dialogue by Saiki, the lead singer, which will add to the impact of the song. Most would suggest you leave it on for this one, as the lyrics are pretty brutal and quiet entertaining. But even so, as you mentioned, you can always go back to watch with the lyrics. Band-Maid's compositions are often quite complex and concentrating on the lyrics will too often distract many listeners from so many little gems in the song. Keep on rocking with the Maids, you have only scratched the surface of their portfolio, much more great songs to check out. PO!🕊 🤘😆🤘

MISA - Mincho battles are always epic. They are the best live rock band on the planet, maybe ever.
THE best Hard Rock band on Earth. Think that covers everything.
Looks Like the ladies play of Love❤❤❤
ONE OF THE BEST BANDS EVER❤❤❤❤❤

Love Band-Maid, this is a great song, but there is SO MUCH MORE. Please check out more Band-Maid and thanks for the reaction.

Misa makes people pick the bass back up or to give up. 😂
They have another song "I Still Seek Revenge" Seems like the person they are singing about has nowhere to hide. A Protection From Abuse Order may be the way to go.

MISA MISA MISA is not known as the Barefoot Bass Assassin for nothing , MISA handles that bass like a Samurai handles his Sword .

For a sample of their range try the 2 songs in 1 video of Manners/Black Hole. Bluesy rock to controlled chaos.

I recommend Gacharic Spin, Nemophila, Rolling Quartz, NEK!, Koiai, and for American band Plush, Canadian band Freeze the Fall, to start.
TL;DR: This song is about a despicable man.
Nice, but why are you telling your buddy what happens in the song before?
Drake loves to share the fun!!
