They join, they know they gonna get the blunt of the blame if things go south. Aging roster, young coach, superstar with son on the team, unrealistic expectations, that’s a hard pass by most.

California taxes made the Dallas deal better financially. Klay doesn't like LeBron and that's the most likely reason he chose Dallas, a team that was just in the Finals as well.

He was president of basketball operations for 2 years and stepped down, he is still around. They already traded alot of assets, and resigned bad players to contracts that are overpaid. Unless they are trying to kill the future of their franchise they can’t make any moves because the only thing they can trade away is future picks, which doesn’t make sense because AD can’t carry a team and Lebron maybe has a year or two left, and his impact on the game isn’t the same.

Seems like he was injured all the time because he wasn't putting in the work. Magically, when he committed, he was able to stay on the court.
They need to develop the AD-Rui connection and convince DLo to focus on running the offense, not shooting himself into a rhythm. They have most of the pieces they need, but can they use them properly?

He also elevated his outside shooting for 41% last season. If they can get consistent play from AD and Rui, consistent shooting from AR, and smarter play from DLo, then LeBron can play a Kyle Korver role for 20mins/gm and in important or close games he can turn into his old downhill self.

@@cmn225 if the lakers get back to focusing on size and length like when they had ad+dwight+javele together on the floor or even keeping the pressure on coming off the bench with 3 athletic bigs they'll be fine. that was and still is the recipe for success in this league that shoots the 3 at a high volume but for some reason they decided to change the ingredients.

Wow Lebron is saying he will take a paycut to get somebody decent and the GM doesn't do anything about it. The Lakers need a big and could have easily aquire Jonas Valanciunas who signed for only 30 million 3 years to the Wizards. He went to sign for a horrible team. This could have helped their bench by moving Rui Hachmura to the bench to be Lebron's backup and if they get Derozan, this could send Austin Reaves to the bench as well so they do have a decent depth had they done this.
Nobody wants to play with this LeBron because he's a stat maker at the stage of his career! He could care less about winning a championship because the West is too strong for him to ever beat any team that's young! If he had since, he should've taken his silly behind BACK to Cleveland where the East is very weak and dominate an easier way back to the Finals. His ego wouldn't let him go back!
The Lakers tax is real, teams ask more in trades compared to other teams. There is a Pelinka tax as well. A lot of front offices didn't like him when he was an agent and they still hold it against him. Lastly, Pelinka just hasn't been a good executive and GM with his management of the team. I like the move LeBron made with taking a pay cut if Pelinka gets a player that can contribute in the postseason. It holds Pelinka accountable which frankly Rob ducks it all the time.
And that is the whole problem with the lakers is this title.. this simple Klay Thompson did not want to come to the lakers period.. he got money, and a chance to win another championship!!!
