  • (If there are too many corpses at the entrance, the AI will start to bug out and not pursue you into the trap base, you have to remove the corpses eventually from that spot to get it working again.)
(MULTIPLAYER: you must break line of sight in order to get the zeds to pursue you up the stairs, if they see you they will stand still and do nothing)
I realized from watching my last video I didn't need the checkered floors, just gotta get them to jump off the stairs. So I went ahead and made the most simple and cheapest trap I could. I had to make the trap areas 2x2 rather than 1x1 (although a 2x1 would probably work, running right beside the length of the last two top tiles of the stairs) simply because zombies kept destroying the 1x1. Just as many if not more will drop on their own if you force them to jump the fence vs using a checkered floor, they push each other aside like a divider on a conveyor belt.
UPDATE: cut out the corners of the containment area so that you can reach the zombies, and farm them for xp/loot. Also if you add a wooden fence, or something that is coded to jump over on your side of the trap in the safe zone upstairs, you can run-jump back over the boxes from whence you came without having to fall out drop out of the back of it. This same mechanic will allow you to jump in and out of the containment area below once you've cleared it and are ready to loot. Also, try to replicate how the corner cut outs work down below into the waiting room above, and you will have a much easier time reaching the zombies and cleaning up the remainder. Jumping out the back leaves you vulnerable as shown in this video... some zombies will decide to meander around for some reason and chill out in the back of the trap on the outside.
