- After a 2 month break Halo 3: Combat Evolved is finally back! With the recent discussion about bringing Halo mods to Xbox I decided to start working on making the mod compatible with split screen just in-case this would become a reality and because the mod tools have split screen functionality on PC I quickly wanted to show off how the mod would play with split screen and to my surprise, it plays really well!
The last segment of the video is something I've been wanting to show off for quite some time but plans have changed and I'm remaking the hub world "Alpha Base" to be more open and free, I started working on the hub world around April this year but never got around to finishing it so what you're seeing now is outdated but I still wanted to show it off a little. Perhaps I'll fully tour this version of the hub world in a different video before I start on remaking it to be better. And just an fyi, this Alpha Base will be my own interpretation of it and will not look similar to the "cannon" version but it's for the better.
If you want Halo mods to come to Xbox, make sure to let your voice be heard wherever you can with the BringHaloModsToXbox hashtag! While the chances might seem pretty slim, there were people who thought MCC would NEVER get a PC port let alone have any official mod tools yet here we are.

In all honesty it is sad that Halo MCC on PC doesn't have Split Screen on its own. It is weird how Xbox Live in its 20+ Year Development hasn't gotten support for Multiple Profiles on PC.
It's weird how split screen is forced to work with multiple profiles in first place. I don't need separate progression system for random player two aka little brother, friend, girlfriend.
Even then. They at least could have offered Local Only Splitscreen like Gears 4 and 5 do.

The fact you made a perfectly functioning Split-screen mode, or the fact that you created Alpha Base from the book as an in-game hub world.

To everyone who wants to play split screen on PC: Nucleus Co-op can allow you to achieve this. Make sure you have it all set up right with your controllers and all, disable online mode and turn off armor unlocks in the settings before you launch, and it should work fine. Me and a friend played some Cursed Halo Again with dual monitors, both of us had a monitor to ourselves and played with Xbox controllers. Can be buggy and awkward to sort out though
Now this is what I'm talking about. Brings me RIGHT back to that 2002 era co-op game feel, thank you.
This is fantastic. You are doing amazing work! Thank you for the efforts you have put into this project. It's what the fans have deserved for years. And of course it takes a fan to make it happen.
When a modder makes a more proper Halo game than the people who own the Halo IP

Thanks to LordGaben that on PC we have programs like nucleus coop to play in split screen and without those horrible black bars on the sides like on Xbox
Maybe while we're at it we can reverse-advocate for official split-screen support on PC seeing as it's quite literally a staple of the Halo franchise and community and as such should be functionally available on PC in parity with it's console counterparts. PC is the single most assured way to future-proof video games for generations to come, and without official split-screen support we do not have a true and complete version of the Halo series on the only platform that guarantees it's future.
Janky unofficially supported versions simply should not cut it. We know it's possible, so lets make it happen! While we're at it how about offline bots just for the heck of it? Make sure such an important part of the game is available, even in such a limited capacity, while offline. If only for the sake of concern that anything ever were to happen to the official servers without fully fleshed out community dedicated server support, or furthermore just for the simple fact that it would be a comfort for people without a connection in any particular instance or for whatever reason.
Just food for thought. Good to see people out here championing split-screen as a feature that should still exist in modern gaming, especially now more than ever even with these massive screens and lobby capacities we've been gifted by the uber-nerd powers-that-be.

Might be to much but if you kill enough Marines it would be cool if it turned on skulls and or pelicans dropped more off to start a fire fight mode or something.
Halo 1 gameplay, Halo 1 Physics, but with Halo 3 level of visual grafix, right?
If so, then that is cool.
Tho i will always prefer the way you remastered Halo 1 by keeping it as close to the original models as possible but also upscaling everything to HD. That is a true remaster.
Not like the way 343 or Gearbox or whoever did the "official" remaster for Halo 1.
Do you have to us MCC on steam for mods or can you play mods on the windows version?
For now you have to use Steam but I'm going to be making NexusMods and ModDB downloads soon once the next major update is finished

In my opinion, she is taking way too long to get onto more missions, she has only officially released two missions so far. Hopefully she can start picking up the pace a bit more soon.
I think it's cool that a mod like this even exists. It's absurd to think that you could play Halo CE in Halo 3, but here it is! It could be one mission, it could be multiplayer maps (which there also are), I'd appreciate what she's made and still is making :)
@@Finger112 Thing is it just feels like a beta, I was hoping we would just get one educated group of modders to remake the whole game. But maybe the buzz died in the mod community. I mean if we had Skyrim mod enthusiasts we’d have like 6 full remakes to choose from by now
@@Finger112Yeah, at this rate. We might not even have another level for 2 - 3 years, and the full mod release for a good 10 years.
