The guidelines are what should have been. Those lists commonly did add generally well written villains to the lists for how evil they were. Best example is Dr.Weil (Mega Man Zero series). Yeah. The guy is completely wretched and cruel. Everyone hates him. But through that, he is doing his job. I mean, yeah, it took 2 full games for him to get what he deserved and it did take a hefty price but he was still perfect the way he was written. Couldn't have asked for someone more despicable. Everyone may hate him, but he was only doing his job and doing it perfectly and ended up being a perfect example of a flaw with old hated character lists.
@@neond6740 Indeed. He is kinds the same for me. But just not what I would put on a list filled with hated characters. I know there is an objective and subjective ground to it and Weil certainly got me to hate him (he isn't really a love to hate). I can already think of a character who was hateable but also poorly written who came from the same franchise. And for that reason, the character in question (Colonel Redips) is actually my personal most hated video game character.
Imma say something about the meat circus: when I first played Psychonauts, I had heard so many people say how bad of a level the meat circus was, so I was prepared for the worst. Then I played it and while I wouldnt say its the best level in the game by a long shot, I definitely didnt think it was as bad as people were saying it was.
The best part in YIIK is that nobody gives Alex crap for the awful things he does. He is treated like Mary sue where nothing is his fault (Even if it literally is) and everyone immediately forgives him even though he never apologises. Top 10 awful Alex moments & facts 1. Him lusting after a comatose robot girl 2. Him obsessing over a girl he doesn't know 3. Him potentially hooking up with the girl he doesn't know 4. You can cause one of the characters to commit suicide and it still somehow isn't your fault 5. Him telling a guy "No one cares that your sister killed herself " 6. Feeling no remorse for what he does and is just pissy about the practically nonexistent flack he gets for being a dick 7. Apparently creating the universe or something and none of it was real 8. He actually became a better person.....In an ending that was scrapped in favor of an make fun of people who didn't like his previous games 9. Him being an obvious self-insert 10. The author not knowing how to write jerk characters ( I know he's supposed to be a dick but there is a difference between a well written asshole and a plain asshole. There needs to be consequences, or at least an awareness that this isn't how someone should act. Trevor Phillips and Brad (from lisa) are not good people but they are good chracters)
I think another key to writing a jerk character is that there has to be something we like about them. In Brad's case, his motivation is sympathetic even of his methods for obtaining it are. As for Trevor, he's hilarious and feels like an embodiment of the playful chaos everyone likes to engage in with Grand Theft Auto.
11: The game flat-out rips off other pieces of literature. Some parts copy entire passages of things like After Dark. The problem I have with it is that it takes itself too seriously to really justify the plagiarism. I mean, when people in other movies say something like "Yippi-kai-ay, motherfucker!" or "Say hello to my little friend!" It's clear that those are references made to have a bit of fun. That too can go wrong if it gets too repetitive, but it's less scummy. I would forgive them using using Haruki Murakami's literature if another character called it out. For example, after one of those long-winded copied monologues, one way to make it clear it's a joke is if one of the characters said. "Wait... I think I heard that before..." or "So you're a fan of After Dark too, huh? Impressive." And I really like how The Quarter Guy points out other antiheroes who are more likable than Alex. People like Luke of Tales of the Abyss. I even contributed to that tweet by pointing out Brick from Borderlands.
@@Dafawfulizer I think the best part of the game is this trippy section involving a dimension hopping robot or something like that but it’s just not worth it. And what exactly was the plot? All I know is it involves Alex dealing with alternate universes crashing into each other and an evil parallel Alex wants to destroy the earth or something like that.
I'm going to say the best part were the voice actors. Not the lines but their performance. When they were supposed to be mad they sounded mad, when it was an urgent situation it you didn't get a simple 'run.' you got a 'RUN!'. They brought their A game to a script that was pretentious yet silly that took itself too seriously all at the same time. Better than some AAA games.
Imma be honest, I love ALEX YIIK ironically, he’s an asshole, doesn’t get punished, he shits his pants and whine. Oh and you can force him to be a lil gay if you want to which makes NO GODDAMN SENSE as Alex YIIK doesn’t even have a crumb of attraction to men
I actually have the PERFECT way to make Bruno a great villain. -Have him show up at the start of the game -He gets drafted into the war and presumed dead -Fidel becomes a corrupt bastard -Sentences a kid to death to aid him politically -Bruno returns and helps you go further up in the political world -He becomes increasingly disturbed by Fidel -Instead of the dice game, it's a board game where the winner gets money and the loser loses his fingers -Fidel easily wins, signifying to Bruno that you're a monster -He disowns Fidel -Fidel hires an assassin to kill Bruno -Business as usual for a while -Fidel's wife tries to kill him -A sudden wave of crime -Bruno's alive and unleashed criminals all over Paris -Bruno kills hundreds of innocents to get revenge on Fidel -Fidel kills Bruno -Napoleon conquers Paris -The game's ending shows Fidel, alone in a throne surrounded by money and the decapitated heads of his enemies, he did all that himself and has no regrets.
lmao kiibo was one of my top favorites, and himiko, despite being annoying in the start, after the 3rd trail she really opened up and i thought she was an overall great character and had great character development.
For me it’s either the mastermind from V3 or Hiyoko from Danganronpa 2. They both piss me off so much for all the wrong reasons. On one hand, Hiyoko’s annoying as hell and a complete bitch with poor “development” but the game still tries to make you feel bad for. On the other hand, the mastermind managed to ruin the finale and story of what could’ve been my favorite Danganronpa game so hard that they dragged the entire game down with it and gave it the heavy-handed beating over the head of a Purge movie with an ending so bad that it gave me a headache.
Here’s a list of all the TYPES of characters who we hate in our video games! The bland protagonist The Omachou The useless partner The mandatory -deadweight- party member The 1 dimensional villain If there’s any other types of characters you hate, leave a reply!
How about villains who fail as villains? Looking at you, Cackletta (Mario and Luigi: Superstar Saga), Faba (Pokemon: Sun and Moon), and Dalton (Chrono Trigger).
The irritating character who never shuts the hell up, especially the ones that talk about the same thing over and over again(looking at you, Nagito Komaeda)
I like Himiko personally, her voice acting made me laugh and I found her arc interesting. I used to dislike Byakuya, but he got better after DR1, he's just alright to me now.
The Virgin Shinobu *Kills innocent people. *Spared just because Travis is an incel (kinda) *Inconsistent character. She ends mad at Travis in NMH2 just to be totally fine with him in Travis Strikes Back *"Ow ThE EdGe" *Carbon copy of Travis in gameplay The Chad Alice *Interesting backstory implied through subtle details *Cool tentacle laser arms *Died with honor and affected Travis emotionally *Badass soundtrack *A better final boss than the actual final boss

At the start of DGV3 I absolutely hated Himiko and her voice, which was a shame because I really like her voice actress. However after a certain chapter she started to grow on me, especially as she started to make an effort to open up to others and let go of her emotions
It seems that Himiko is either character you’ll either love or cannot stand by the grand scheme of things. As for me, my least favorite characters from Danganronpa include Hifumi, Teruteru, Hiyoko, and maybe Tenko. SPOILERS BELOW Incidentally, all of these characters get killed off.
why don't you like tenko? i think tenko is awesome. she treats shuichi nicely, she's inspiring to himiko (and almost everyone else) and i think she was a good person. not trying to prove you wrong, im just curious :)
UndertoneSone True but people also see the same problem with Koizumi. Which makes me sad because she is a good character, and would be even better if she lived longer.

William Harmon true true, I personally just call it a her because she’s based off the programer, who’s name I’m pretty sure is Chihiro, please don’t murder me if I got that wrong, and they are called a she through, like, 97% of her appearances up till the trial, and sense Alter Ego is based on her, I personally call it a her. But you guys can call her a he, a she, an it, a they, or an attack helicopter for all I care, it doesn’t really matter to me, you do you
@@Br4x Okay, but Chihiro is actually a guy in a dress who does that because he used to be bullied for his frail and unmanly physique. So Alter Ego is based on a guy. But it doesn't really matter since it's an AI and you can call it whatever feels right to you.
Says he "Treats the words of Alex Rochon as unquestionable gospel," sounds almost exactly like Josh Scorcher (almost, because his voice isn't gravelly. Josh doesn't have, like, a BATMAN gravelly voice, but there is a bit of gravel in his voice)
V3's kind of the game that split the fandom into either liking it, or hating it. Personally for me, my least favorite game was DR1, as I thought it was the weakest cast, and I honestly can't decide if I like 2 or V3 better. 2 has a more reasonable cast that play well off eachother and is more immediately likable, while V3 has a much more dysfunctional cast that slowly grows on you. V3's cast is definitely the most flawed, but flaws are important for characters, either wise you end up with a cast of boring mary sues. As for Himiko herself, she's another character that the fandom seems to split on, and i'll admit, she's probably my favorite character in V3. The reason she was picked to survive isn't too endearing or anything. (A big part of V3 is going against the previous games tropes, one of the tropes they went out of their way to go against is the physically weakest characters, IE Chihiro and Hiyoko, and the strongest characters, IE Sakura and Nekomaru, both become victims in the game, so Gonta was made into the blackened, and Himiko a survivor. And hey! The guy that walks and talks like a serial killer, is actually a serial killer, and he actually did it!) Of the characters, Himiko is definately the most flawed (Excluding the crazy cult leader, and the serial killer) character of the group, though rather then view her as a childish character that's should be bursting energy, I see her as a character who is genuinely depressed, and uses escapism to the point where she is borderline delusional. It's... honestly not a bad portrayal of depression (cases of depression aren't gonna be the same, but I honestly related somewhat to her...) You get the impression that she doesn't care too much of what other people think of her, doesn't care too strongly about living or dying, and that she is looking for an easy way out, especially with joining angie and her cult. Though, pre-arc she genuinely does seem to care about people, and states that the reason she likes performing magic is because she likes being able to make people happy with her performances, even getting excited for her magic show in chapter 2, stating the entry fee to be 'Just your smiles'. (Before it going horribly, horribly wrong) And while she doesn't show it much pre arc, (Which she gets called out on by Kokichi) She does care about the others to some extent. When you have depression, alot of times it's honestly easier to live for the sake of others, rather then the sake of oneself. After Arc, with the death of the person who did care about her the most, she wants to be able to change herself for that persons sake, and is forcing herself to be more outgoing, emotional, and caring about her situation. By the end, she is still heavily flawed, but she's made major improvements as a person. One other thing that I like in V3 is that for some of the characters, theres no over dramatic reason for being why they are how they are. Tenko doesn't have some horrifying trauma for her character flaws, she's just way to emotional and quick to judge because that's how she is, Himiko doesn't have some great failure that lead to this depression, she's just depressed. Though, some of the characters backstories are very over the top as well, which could also be seen as on purpose, since the premise is that these backstories we're made up for these people. (I'm gonna stop here, because this was just supposed to be a comment on why I like Himiko, but I let it get away from me...)
I also want to point out how much depth trial 3 had on himiko as a character. She succumbed to angie's brainwashing a chapter before everyone else, as you said , because it was the easy option. Meanwhile, she didn't pay enough attention to tenko even though she did care about her because it required a lot of work to be with someone with the personality of tenko. But when both die, she realised she didn't care about angie much while tenko's death hit pretty hard. I also love the triple symbolism, since angie was cold and indifferent towards death, yet tenko was very sensitive, so when Angie died himiko was indifferent but with tenko she did truly care. Himiko's feelings are also supposed to mimic our feelings, since at the beginning angie seemed like a likeable character and tenko as an annoying one, but when angie died most people didn't care, while tenko's death hit like a truck even if you didn't particularly like her (coming from personal experience) I also love himiko as a character too, I don't even know how people can hate her (she's funny and cute at the same time, how come you not like that?)
V3 and UDG are my favorite games, mainly because of the cast. The cast is what really makes it for me, and each character makes me feel different, but all in a good way. Their flaws is what makes me adore the cast. Except for Haiji. Haiji's "flaw" is just wrong. But Himiko, goodness me, she's such a comfort to me. Her whole situation during chapter 3 hit me hard. Losing the two and only close people to her, it gives me feels. That's why I'm glad she survived, along with (survivor spoilers) Maki and Shuichi. Each survivor had lost an important person from their time at the academy, Kaede, Kaito, Tenko (and Angie). This is also something in common with (more survivor spoilers) Hina, (maybe Naegi?), Hajime, Sonia, Akane and Fuyuhiko (not counting the program thing). Anyways, I love how the Danganronpa characters are written, despite all their flaws.
Interesting, those reasons for number one are kind of why I hate Junko Enoshima above anyone else. Mind you this is also taking in the sequels, spin-offs, and especially the anime into consideration.
I too find Himiko annoying. Not the worst character ever, but definitely the weakest in V3. For someone who got an actual arc, she did a surprising amount of not growing. You see her trying, but she doesn’t really change, and she’s not that funny because her jokes are so repetitive. I get why other people find her cute, but I feel like literally anyone else who have been more interesting as a survivor.
My opinion, exactly It doesn't matter that the character has a good arc if there's no actual development other then stop saying "it's magic" and "I'm tired" every 5 seconds
Yeah, especially in Chapter 2 like SOMEONE DIED AND SHE LITERALLY TALKED ABOUT HER MAGIC SHIT I am so sorry for Tenko that she wasted her time on Himiko
Doesn't the fact she doesn't change immensely in a short amount of time make her more realistic, though? She is still trying her best all the time after trial 3 for Tenko and Angie. She may not be the smartest, but she is trying and shows she cares for everyone. She Does change quite a bit, you notice her trying to be more friendly and showing her emotions much more, which is what Tenko would have wanted. I'm pretty sure she was already depressed before trial 3 even happened, due to her never wanting to try and giving into Angie's religion so easily, so she had something to cling on to. She deserved to live as she continued to want to live and try every day for those she lost. Her development may not be as dramatic as Fuyuhiko's, but I find her so endearing, she's my favorite in the series :]
This was a pretty great list man, had some solid jokes and I only disagree with 1 character but you have fair reasoning. I'll be honest, I was gonna like the video from the start, but the second slot really secured my like for it. Bless you.
I agree with what you said about Far Cry 3. Have Hoyt be the starting antagonist only to have Vaas half way through kill Hoyt symbolizing giving in to the madness and the warrior within.
TBH from now on if the Koopalings are going to be in a main series Mario game as bossed, then they should just be combined into a single boss just before the final Bowser battle. I like them, but I can see how you dislike them and strongly agree with you.
Despite the fact that Kirumi is my profile picture, Himiko is the waifu for me. I was a little bit agitated that she made the list, but I’m willing to forgive this for two reasons. One, the reasons why you dislike this character are perfectly plausible and understandable. And two, whenever you make a video on a negative topic, I tend to like those more than other lists. I dunno why, it’s just I really like hearing your opinions on why you dislike certain things in video games (I also strongly agree with what you said about Kirumi and Angie)
Uhhh, when you have something that also messes around with actual history, that's never a good thing. I am just glad my French ancestors got out of France before the French revolution, although their circumstances for leaving France was still under grave conditions. They were Huguenots, French Protestants, that were force to flee their home after King Louis made laws that basically banned the religion. I am still still amazed my dad was able to trace that family line all the way back to the 17th century. They left Normandy and settled in North Carolina and spread all throughout the south over the centuries. Anyway, cool list. Let's see, if there's a char I found to be incredibly annoying it be Larry from the Phoenix Wright franchise. Granted I've only seen him in the Spirit of Justice DLC, but watching that DLC case, I can see why he's so hated by fans, including my fav let's player NicoB who literally raged when he saw Larry there. Another char I can't stand though especially is Selene from Grandia II. The main char, Ryodo, called her an (and I am paraphrasing this) "overcrazed zealot" and that's exactly what she is. Her boss fight too was pretty damn easy for being so late in the game. I was glad to be rid of her too.

honestly, i’m so proud of you man, i’ve been watching your stuff since like, 2014, and your content has grown so much over the years, i’ve truly never seen such a huge amount of growth in quality in any other channel. keep it up man, love your vids
I think it would be better if the games tried to develop them in any interesting way, but they don’t. They’re the same collection of quirky traits and design ever since Super Mario Bros 3. If they can flesh out Bowser, they can flesh out the Koopalings
Another good reason that Dark Bowser didn’t make the list apart from not being that much of a problem when he came in IS that he has probably the most favored boss battle music.
To be fair I don't think the Koopalings were in New Super Mario Bros Wonder. I remember adding Derek Clifford Simmons to the Scrappy Wiki though for the sake of fairness I thought his death scene was done well.
For me, my most hated video game character would be the Ghasts from Minecraft. The amount of times they've knocked me into Nether lava and made me lose everything still infuriates me to this day.
Funnily enough, when I stumbled upon the Loathsome Characters Wiki today, one of the many articles I found was on Alex. What's funny about this is, when it comes to the point about his inner monologues, they list out every single problem you listed, the last one quoting you verbatim, " *Alex never shuts up.* "
Maybe the best way to say, “don’t put a character that is hated for being a villain on the list” is to say that if you’re supposed to hate them, they won’t be on theblist

I love the koopalings they are very important characters in the franchise having special roles of there own being bowser kids helping causing trouble and I'm glad there in the games showing us there abilities and personalities just like everyone else in the gamesI don't hate you to each there own
I actually liked Kirumi, even if she was pretty understated, and Angie for how cheerfully morbid she could be and how fun I thought that was, but I’ve got to admit, you’re the first person I’ve seen who I share a least-favorite Dangan character with, and I think you hit the nail on the head in describing what was bugging me about Himiko, too - I used to just chalk it up to “well, she is kind of the opposite of the character type I usually like, like Ibuki, Gundham, or Miu, so I guess she’s just not my thing”, but I guess it... is how far she goes in that context. You do have an odd disconnect between her cute and fun and interesting aesthetic and design and backstory and just how... bored and like she doesn’t want to be there she seems for the whole game, which just makes the latter thing stand out even more to the point where it feels like you’re watching a movie where one actor clearly hates the character their playing. While he is endearing enough, meanwhile, I’ve got to admit that I do... sort of forget about Keebo half the time, too, and he and Himiko are the only DR characters I can really say that about.
@@emskippy Yeah, you're right, that wording didn't really... convey what I actually meant - I suppose what I meant by saying that and then making a comparison to an actor being checked-out during their performance is that the way she does come off as so... uninvested/just briefly or superficially invested in any part of her own situation makes it hard for me likewise to get invested in her.
I am the exact opposite, I like Shinobu and think that laser tesco boss is awful. Destroyman 2 is really awful as well but I don't think that means Shinobu is a bad character, that's a bad boss. Top 10 Least Favourite Thumbnails with that text imo
I mean the problem with lack of creativity in Mario games isn't just because there are Koopalings. In the tower levels they could put some original boss and have koopalings in the castles or exactly opposite - they would battle you in the towers and in the castle they would use other creatures to fight you. But what did we get in towers? Bowser Jr., Koopalings again, Reznor, Boom Boom, Kamek and a bigger version of a Sumo Bro.
Bowser Jr. might be a spoiled brat, but at least he has an interesting background as Bowser’s successor, and actually goes through a bit of character growth in games like Mario Sunshine and Mario + Rabbids.
@@Cure_Hana I know right. The koopalings have only one personality trait each like Ludwig is cocky, Roy is a jock, Wendy is from Detroit, Iggy is mental, Lemmy is Retarded, Morton is also Retarded, and Larry is also cocky. That's it, I know they're Mario characters but come on. And what's worse is that they contribute Nothing to the series after mario world. They were just thrown in to the new games beacuse Nintendo were to lazy to come up with any Original Ideas for Mario. That and Rehashing the same old boring lazy unoriginal PEACH GETS KIDNAPPED BY BOWSER FOR THE 900,000,000, TIME THIS WEAK plot and always making you go through the same uninteresting GRASS, DESERT, BEACH, SNOW, JUNGLE, MOUNTAIN, CLOUD AND LAVA again. Which thinking about it is why I hate New super Mario bros Games. Say what you want about the Modern Kirby's games but atleast they're not just rehashes of echother.
Honestly they're pretty similar; depressed, lost the will to live or try anymore, and didn't open up too often. Ryoma, however, sadly never found his motivation and gave up, while Himiko found motivation through Angie and Tenko and began to show her emotions and try to get closer to everyone Too sides of a sad coin that are pretty real. I don't get how anyone can dislike Himiko. She's a great character, my favorite in the series
I think Himiko is good and pretty far from being the worst or one of the worst DR characters. Akane absolutely takes the cake for worst DR character for me personally, she's fucking godawful
@@johnheneghan5743 lol I could go in for ages but I'll try and keep it brief Firstly, she's a exaggerated, shitty version of an actual good character, Hina. Big chest, tan, sporty, energetic, likes food, has a relationship with the big character (Sakura, Nekomaru), and survives (unfortunately, in Akane's case). She has so many chances to develop like both times Nekomaru dies and never takes them. Her very existence is insulting and the fact that she survived drags down the overall quality of the game. Her main character trait is eating food which makes her incredibly boring as a result
yoshikage kira I was thinking of if she was the culprit of case 3 but I realized how bland she was because the was no way someone even the developers can make her an interesting culprit in any way and this is including Korekiyo
Thank you for putting the Koopalings on this list! I am so sick of people hating on Bowser Jr. because "he's a shitty replacement (seriously, do those people even know the difference between replacement and addition?) for the Koopalings! Come on, those guys were awesome! Why do you give the spotlight to this little twit?!" Every person who has Bowser Jr. in their hated characters list says the exact same thing over and over! I mean I can definitely understand people for hating Bowser Jr. for his bratty personality, but it's about time someone finally puts the Koopalings on the chopping block. News flash: The Koopalings aren't special, Bowser Jr.'s *NOT* their replacement, they're the kind of villains who overstayed their welcome, and everyone needs to know that.
I think a perfect counter to this list would be "Top 10 Successfully Hateable Video Game Characters", where you rank intentionally hateable characters by how much you love to hate them.
I played the entirety of YIIK and also watched other people play it as well after hyperfixating on the game, and trust me, he still sucks. Even if you wanna argue its due to things out of his control, he is still awful and especially towards characters such as Rory which can lead to a very, very bad thing happening because of how much of a prick he is.
Just about half of the characters from V3 could have made this list. Himiko- Just a red-haired "meh" Emoji from the Emoji Movie K1-B0- Is nothing but a running joke of "that's robophobic!" Except it was never funny to begin with. Kokichi- For the people who hate the fun and interesting characters. (Kokichi is what made Chapters 4 and 5 good.) Angie- Airheadded Cultist who is just flat-out annoying Maki- Edgelord who never grew up. Seriously? How is this one of the characters who lives until the end when up until the end of Chapter 4- we had never seen ANY reason to feel anything remotely sympathetic towards her?! In Chapter 2, Kaito tells that he wants to just have blind faith in this edgy bitch just... BECAUSE!!! The game treats her that just because she is mean makes her automatically a "sympathetic" character. Tenko- I'll keep this one simple: *How* did Ms. Andry over here not make the list?! Tsumugi- Take a shot for every time she says the word "plain"
I do have to defend Shinobu. Think what you will and I respect your opinion. But No More Heroes 1, each boss was symbolism of Travis' psychotic journey. That being an anime hero who wants to be number one. But he is killing people in order to become number one, and wanting to fuck Silvia. Shinobu showing how naive Travis' motivation is. Willing to kill because you think you know best, but not knowing or caring for the full picture. Can't defend No More Heroes 2 Shinobu's gameplay. I didn't mind it, but I definitly see how people might be frustrasted with her
I know it's been like, two years, but the Realistic Fish Head was one of my favorite gags in Spongebob - I wanted to hear his voice again so I looked voice clips of him up from the game and... *fifteen minutes in* I started getting why his gimmick was an occasional thing in the show and they eventually retired him. Problem is, the show eventually dragged in Perch Perkins, who is objectively as irritating.
This is an excellent list, I am SO glad you went with a better criteria instead of putting characters who are meant to be hated here. That has always kind of bothered me. Here are my thoughts on your picks: Spoilers for those who didn’t watch the full video: 10 - I’ve never played this game, but it does sounds like a shame they didn’t use this character as well as they could’ve. 9 - That honestly sounds frustrating, like the guy really teamed up with the person that actually killed his sister being his motive being revenge smh 8 - Yeah I get your point, they REALLY shafted the Mario Kart 8 roster, at least the original version of the game. 7 - They seriously didn’t bother giving this guy more unique lines? I mean this is a SpongeBob game, I imagine the dialogue to be entertaining. 6 - Very underwhelming villain, he’s not even that bad but why did they think introducing him after frickin’ Vaas was a good idea? 5 - She’s not that bad, definitely one of the weaker characters but I dunno I found her kinda charming. I would easily put the game’s mastermind here instead, they were such a waste of time and a lazily written character. 4 - I’m glad I’m not the only person who found him annoying, at least he gets better. 3 - I mean she gets way better in the future games at least. 2 - I have a feeling you’re supposed to like this character despite him sucking so much. And from what I heard apparently he faces NO consequences for being such an asswipe, so that definitely proves my point. 1 - Even if he was an anime villain I’d still find him incredibly stupid.
26:12 - 26:23 After watching oversimplified French Revolution, hearing this sentence doesn’t make sense. How did Marat publish alexi’s crimes to the public when he was killed by charlotte Corday? (He died before robesphiere for clarification)
I actually like Bertrand lol... I have this thing where I like the most unlikeable characters... examples: •Total drama’s Heather •Danganronpa’s Byakuya Togami and Hiyoko Saionji •Pokemon Sw/Sh’s Bede
@@Dafawfulizer. Don't know. Look up a channel called dt gaming. It has info on a whole lot of games coming out a few months ago I got s notification for the upcoming this is the police 3 tralier.
The voice actor who did Alex from YIIK is Chris Niosi the guy who created TOME: Terrain of Magical Expertise, Brawl Taunts, and Super Mario RPG Waltz Of The Forest I'm not joking it's real and that's a pretty big yikes from me which is sad really.
Completely agree on Himiko. I found her tolerable at first, but as the game went on and characters started dying (Including my favorite girl Miu) I kept wondering why Himiko hasn’t died yet given that she got more and more annoying and unlikable to me, especially given that she hardly does ANYTHING aside from her “contribution” in the trial involving her magic act. When I finally reached the end all I could think was: Why is it that you get to survive versus any of the other girls (not including the insufferable Angie).
I think either the last entry we have to talk about how “just because you can have a plot twist, doesn’t mean you should have one” if it will ruin the gameplay/story and how you feel, a plot twist is shocking but the twist part is right, it will twist how the stories seen and that should always be seen as a good thing
My Opinion 10: Mephiles ( Sonic 2006 ) 9: Francis ( Super Paper Mario ) 8: Gordon Freeman ( Half Life Series ) 7: Mr Oshiro ( Celeste ) 6: Louie ( Pikimin Series ) 5: Sigma ( Mega Man X Series ) 4: Luca ( The Wonderful 101 ) 3: Pigma ( Star Fox Series ) 2: Alex ( Yiik: A Post-Modern RPG ) 1: Bruno Fidele ( We The Revolution )
I can see all the others (Though Francis didn't bother me that much since he was only there for a bit and some post-game content) but why Mr. Oshiro? Sure, he tried to kill Celeste and I think he needed more character development, but from how I see it, he never meant wrong, and wished the best for his hotel, hence why he wanted people to stay. I never found him overly annoying for his insistence on that. I find him as a misunderstood spirit.
Shinobu has a cool design, especially in NMH2, but she’s written super weirdly, especially in the second game. Haven’t played Travis Strikes Again, where I think she’s playable, so maybe they wrote her well there.
Agreed Harukawa was my least favorite from the V3 cast too. Like she had likable moments but her hate boner for Oma(especially during the Chapter 5 Trial) really gotta onto my nerves.
@@hayamihinata4135 yeah the whole "is that was a detective does" monologue was so cringey like yes Maki that is exactly what a detective does lol. It is a shame cause she had one of my favourite designs when the v3 cast was first leaked so i went into V3 wanting to like her.
So why exactly did Luka decide to work with the Geathjerk? They failed to protect Professor Margherita and that drives him to just hand over the keys to destroying Mother Platinum? It’s so weird because Wonder Blue has a similar motivation for joining the Wonderful 100 so he could hunt down the spy who got his brother killed.
If Hifumi's not on this list I will flip some tables. He's my least favorite character by far in the ENTIRE Danganronpa series. Okay, so you picked Himiko. It makes sense...sort of. I guess you only have to put up with Hifumi for three chapters. Himiko's not annoying enough to make my list, though.
@ALEXANDER SULLIVAN Yeah, Mikan's up there. But she was useful and fine for the first two cases. You can't say the same for Hifumi. Plus, Hifumi killed Taka, who seemed like he was going through an arc that got cut short. Not as short as Hiyoko's arc got cut, but still cut short.
I can see why these characters made the list except for himiko Her whole characteristic is being depressed so of course her voice isn’t going to have much emotion that’s how depressed work most of the time If you wanted a character that lasted the whole game and dose Frick all hero exists (or himufi but he didn’t last the whole game)
In defence of himiko the theme of danganronpa V3 are lies and truths and what does himiko do? Lie to herself that she is a real mage and realised the truth on how much tenko cared for her and how she saved her life from korekiyo so she is better as a symbol from realizing truths and lying to yourself then a character
8) Koopalings.... I want to say something that could change your mind a bit. Excluding the New Soups and the 2D mario games, what makes Paper Jam, Color Splash, and the Mario and Luigi Remake games different for the koopalings is how they are given more personality. Nintendo may be adding them in the games more and more, but what they are doing is giving them more of a personality. For those who hate the koopalings, they rather have the bland versions of the koopalings who just acted as bosses and not as actual characters. Heck, I find Bowser Junior's Journey Story far superior to the main Bowser's Inside Story game just because the character development of Bowser Junior and the Koopalings is so much higher. If the koopalings got into a 3d Mario game, as long as Nintendo gave them a personality to stand out as bosses, it would not be a problem.
Hell, as much as I harp on Otto Apocalypse for the exact same problem as Bruno, at least he fits more into Honkai Impact 3rd's tone and has been a presence in the story since at least Chapter 5 if not earlier.
Strangely enough, if you throw off the Koopalings and put the remaining characters in a dangerous situation, you'll get 9 Hours, 9 Persons, 9 Doors. In fact, every character from this list can be compared to a 999 character: Hoyt Volka is Ace Ozzy is Snake Bruno is Santa Himiko is Clover Alex is Junpei Newscaster is June/Akane Mamoru is Seven Shinobu is Lotus Luke is The 9th Man Go play 999, by the way; it's a fun game; The afromentioned characters are mostly enjoyable in terms of writing (except Santa, fuck this guy). Besides, it's YET ANOTHER game released by Spike Chunsoft(the Danganronpa creators). I also recommend checking out playing the game's sequel: Virtue's Last Reward, with almost a whole new cast (Clover makes a reappearance). But a quick warning: These games have a combined total of TWENTY-FOUR different endings (18 of which are in Virtue's Last Reward). Have fun.
I also don’t like himiko. I feel like Ryoma could’ve done hiniko’s role better like he would’ve been one dude who seems depressed most of the time but still could deliver some funny stuff and good advice. It wouldn’t feel as jarring as himiko’s writing and voice
I honestly didn’t care for Himiko at first, but now i love her after chapter 3 in Danganronpa V3. But i respect your opinion. My least favorite DR characters are prolly Mahiru and Hiyoko
One of the reasons you hate Luka is the same problem I have with the GUN commander from Shadow the Hedgehog. I originally thought that Abraham Tower, as the comics call him, held a grudge against Shadow for trying to bomb the planet with a space station in Adventure 2, but his problems go deeper than that; Shadow's creation led to the death of Maria Robotnik in his mind, and he loved Maria, considering her the only family he knew. But it was GUN who caught her in the crossfire. And with that in mind, why did he join GUN, to the point of rising in the ranks to become their commander? I guess so that he could boss them around in revenge? But then why try to kill Shadow who was completely innocent in that scenario? You can blame Gerald who created Shadow in the first place while you're at it... Or, I guess pay homage to him at the end after he nearly bombed the planet. Then again, it was your organization who ruined his life causing him to hate the whole world for some reason. Man, I kinda like Shadow, but his story doesn't make sense. It's possible that this is a mistranslation and it made more sense in the Japanese version. Seemed to be the case for Metroid Other M.
OH COME ON!! Himiko's my favourite character in all of Danganronpa (Sometimes sharing the spot with Fuyuhiko bc his arc is also pretty cool) due to her character arc! Like yeah she was pretty annoying before Tenko dies, but after that I find the way she tries so hard to change the way she acts that her energy-deproved body can barely handle it to be kinda sweet
Ghetsis is probably an even more egregious example considering how common he was on those lists, while I only remember Weil being on Quarter Guy's.
@@Dafawfulizer I remember about 3 others with Dr.Weil.
And whenever he appeared on any lists, he was always top 3.
@@jazzfan033 Dr. Weil is one of my most hated video game characters, meaning that at least for me, Dr. Weil did what the writers intended him to do.
@@Dafawfulizer I disagree with the himiko opinion
#1. Whoever designed the Meat Circus
@@christiantodor9128 Same reason I don't mind Mega Man X6 that much. Sure it's badly designed, but it's managable once you know the workarounds.
@@christiantodor9128 I agree.

The best part in YIIK is that nobody gives Alex crap for the awful things he does. He is treated like Mary sue where nothing is his fault (Even if it literally is) and everyone immediately forgives him even though he never apologises.
Top 10 awful Alex moments & facts
1. Him lusting after a comatose robot girl
2. Him obsessing over a girl he doesn't know
3. Him potentially hooking up with the girl he doesn't know
4. You can cause one of the characters to commit suicide and it still somehow isn't your fault
5. Him telling a guy "No one cares that your sister killed herself "
6. Feeling no remorse for what he does and is just pissy about the practically nonexistent flack he gets for being a dick
7. Apparently creating the universe or something and none of it was real
8. He actually became a better person.....In an ending that was scrapped in favor of an make fun of people who didn't like his previous games
9. Him being an obvious self-insert
Impressive."
And I really like how The Quarter Guy points out other antiheroes who are more likable than Alex.
-Have him show up at the start of the game
-He gets drafted into the war and presumed dead
-Fidel becomes a corrupt bastard
-Sentences a kid to death to aid him politically
-Bruno returns and helps you go further up in the political world
-He becomes increasingly disturbed by Fidel
-Instead of the dice game, it's a board game where the winner gets money and the loser loses his fingers
-Fidel easily wins, signifying to Bruno that you're a monster
-He disowns Fidel
-Fidel hires an assassin to kill Bruno
-Business as usual for a while
-Fidel's wife tries to kill him
-A sudden wave of crime
-Bruno's alive and unleashed criminals all over Paris
-Bruno kills hundreds of innocents to get revenge on Fidel
-Fidel kills Bruno
-Napoleon conquers Paris
-The game's ending shows Fidel, alone in a throne surrounded by money and the decapitated heads of his enemies, he did all that himself and has no regrets.

#1 for me: the Mastermind of Danganronpa V3.
Spoilers
Its Tsumugi
Izuru?
For me it’s either the mastermind from V3 or Hiyoko from Danganronpa 2. They both piss me off so much for all the wrong reasons. On one hand, Hiyoko’s annoying as hell and a complete bitch with poor “development” but the game still tries to make you feel bad for. On the other hand, the mastermind managed to ruin the finale and story of what could’ve been my favorite Danganronpa game so hard that they dragged the entire game down with it and gave it the heavy-handed beating over the head of a Purge movie with an ending so bad that it gave me a headache.

And hey! The guy that walks and talks like a serial killer, is actually a serial killer, and he actually did it!)
Of the characters, Himiko is definately the most flawed (Excluding the crazy cult leader, and the serial killer) character of the group, though rather then view her as a childish character that's should be bursting energy, I see her as a character who is genuinely depressed, and uses escapism to the point where she is borderline delusional. It's... honestly not a bad portrayal of depression (cases of depression aren't gonna be the same, but I honestly related somewhat to her...) You get the impression that she doesn't care too much of what other people think of her, doesn't care too strongly about living or dying, and that she is looking for an easy way out, especially with joining angie and her cult.
Let's be real: The characters with dead important loved ones always get to leave. except Hiyiko. that was a last second change in writing.
Kiyotaka was really confusing after his 'revival'.
Himiko's feelings are also supposed to mimic our feelings, since at the beginning angie seemed like a likeable character and tenko as an annoying one, but when angie died most people didn't care, while tenko's death hit like a truck even if you didn't particularly like her (coming from personal experience)
I also love himiko as a character too, I don't even know how people can hate her (she's funny and cute at the same time, how come you not like that?)
Honestly when people tell me Yumeno didn’t deserve to survive it drives me up the wall.
Interesting, those reasons for number one are kind of why I hate Junko Enoshima above anyone else. Mind you this is also taking in the sequels, spin-offs, and especially the anime into consideration.
Basically, it's not for how evil she is but how she destroyed the world in an unrealistic way... seems pretty anime to me!
@@WillieManga
i mean once she had izuru kamukura on her side is it REALLY that unrealistic?
I too find Himiko annoying. Not the worst character ever, but definitely the weakest in V3. For someone who got an actual arc, she did a surprising amount of not growing. You see her trying, but she doesn’t really change, and she’s not that funny because her jokes are so repetitive. I get why other people find her cute, but I feel like literally anyone else who have been more interesting as a survivor.
My opinion, exactly
It doesn't matter that the character has a good arc if there's no actual development other then stop saying "it's magic" and "I'm tired" every 5 seconds
Yeah, especially in Chapter 2 like SOMEONE DIED AND SHE LITERALLY TALKED ABOUT HER MAGIC SHIT
I am so sorry for Tenko that she wasted her time on Himiko
Idea: what if she was the blackened on chapter 3?
@@uranium404 That. Would.be.COOL
Because I hate her. A lot. And see her as a blackened will be an amazing plot twist!
(And her execution is cool tho)
Bless you.
Thanks
This channel is criminally underrated.
I get that too.
same, it’s always fun to listen to people ranting, at least from my experience

I completely agree with the Koopalings, they are completely overused & block creativity for many Mario games including spin-offs
I think it would be better if the games tried to develop them in any interesting way, but they don’t. They’re the same collection of quirky traits and design ever since Super Mario Bros 3.
If they can flesh out Bowser, they can flesh out the Koopalings
Mario & Luigi Paper Jam, Minion Quest, and Bowser's Jr Journey would all love to have a word with you
I used to be one of the biggest koopaling fans out there, but looking back, most of their appearances are awful.

Maybe the best way to say, “don’t put a character that is hated for being a villain on the list” is to say that if you’re supposed to hate them, they won’t be on theblist

"Like she doesn't want to be there at all."
I mean, who wants to be in a killing game? (other than Junko)

Yes! I'm Not the only one who's tired of the Koopalings!
Bowser Jr. might be a spoiled brat, but at least he has an interesting background as Bowser’s successor, and actually goes through a bit of character growth in games like Mario Sunshine and Mario + Rabbids.
Say what you want about the Modern Kirby's games but atleast they're not just rehashes of echother.

yoshikage kira why is akane bad
@@johnheneghan5743 lol I could go in for ages but I'll try and keep it brief
Firstly, she's a exaggerated, shitty version of an actual good character, Hina.

Himiko- Just a red-haired "meh" Emoji from the Emoji Movie
K1-B0- Is nothing but a running joke of "that's robophobic!" Except it was never funny to begin with.
Kokichi- For the people who hate the fun and interesting characters. (Kokichi is what made Chapters 4 and 5 good.)
Angie- Airheadded Cultist who is just flat-out annoying
Maki- Edgelord who never grew up.

Here are my thoughts on your picks:
Spoilers for those who didn’t watch the full video:
10 - I’ve never played this game, but it does sounds like a shame they didn’t use this character as well as they could’ve.
9 - That honestly sounds frustrating, like the guy really teamed up with the person that actually killed his sister being his motive being revenge smh
8 - Yeah I get your point, they REALLY shafted the Mario Kart 8 roster, at least the original version of the game.
26:12 - 26:23

The voice actor who did Alex from YIIK is Chris Niosi the guy who created TOME: Terrain of Magical Expertise, Brawl Taunts, and Super Mario RPG Waltz Of The Forest I'm not joking it's real and that's a pretty big yikes from me which is sad really.

We don’t talk about Bruno
I honestly loved the Broodals in Odyssey, they were a fun boss bunch and I had a lot of fun beating the tar out of them!
My Opinion
10: Mephiles ( Sonic 2006 )
9: Francis ( Super Paper Mario )
8: Gordon Freeman ( Half Life Series )
7: Mr Oshiro ( Celeste )
6: Louie ( Pikimin Series )
5: Sigma ( Mega Man X Series )
4: Luca ( The Wonderful 101 )
3: Pigma ( Star Fox Series )
2: Alex ( Yiik: A Post-Modern RPG )
1: Bruno Fidele ( We The Revolution )
Wasn't fond of Himiko either however Maki was my least favourite from V3. She was just unpleasent from start to finish in my opinion.
Mine Would Be V3’s Mastermind!!!!!!! (I have a political grudge against her!!!!!!!)
You sir, have improved. Well done!
I’m a bit mad by your danganrompa choice.
Himiko is an adorable little mage and kiibo is so wholesome 😭
I respect your choice tho-
I can see why these characters made the list except for himiko
Her whole characteristic is being depressed so of course her voice isn’t going to have much emotion that’s how depressed work most of the time
If you wanted a character that lasted the whole game and dose Frick all hero exists (or himufi but he didn’t last the whole game)
Did you really have to spoil the danganronpa v3 when you mentioned it was all for nothing the whole time?
In defence of himiko the theme of danganronpa V3 are lies and truths and what does himiko do? Lie to herself that she is a real mage and realised the truth on how much tenko cared for her and how she saved her life from korekiyo so she is better as a symbol from realizing truths and lying to yourself then a character
Funny thing is, Napoleon became First Consul for life because of a coup. Bruno was historically not part of that coup
In fact, every character from this list can be compared to a 999 character:
Hoyt Volka is Ace
Ozzy is Snake
Bruno is Santa
Himiko is Clover
Alex is Junpei
Newscaster is June/Akane
Mamoru is Seven
Shinobu is Lotus
Luke is The 9th Man
Go play 999, by the way; it's a fun game; The afromentioned characters are mostly enjoyable in terms of writing (except Santa, fuck this guy).
1:01 *Oh god not Von Karma*
Yep.
Why did himiko hurt my soul-
I honestly didn’t care for Himiko at first, but now i love her after chapter 3 in Danganronpa V3. But i respect your opinion. My least favorite DR characters are prolly Mahiru and Hiyoko
The thing is that Hoyt definitely works as a villain, since Pegan Min in the next game is the perfected version of him imo
To be honest, I don't think Keebo is a bad character.... He just feels so vanilla for a robot.
