I remember seeing a “Coming Soon” box for this at a GameStop once, then forgetting about for years. Once I finally did buy it and finish it, I was baffled. Why did nobody talk about this game before?! How could something so weird, even for Wario, exist without comment? I sure hope someone tells me Wha Happun.
Wario Land Shake It is actually great. Solid level design, fantastic animation and pretty solid mechanics. It's basically Wario Land 5 and that's not an exaggeration as it basically follows a similar structure to 4 with escaping the levels. Made by Good Feel who made Kirby's Epic Yarn and Yoshi's Woolly World. Top class 2D platformer. Gets overlooked on Wii compared to New Mario Bros and Kirby, but it's great.
I agree, we also need another 3D donkey Kong action platformer. I think Wario would be a good way to explore more crude humor and wacky characters, and even expand on the lore of Mario by exploring other kingdoms.
Oh, yeah, that guy was FUCKED. It's a giant child's head with the texture of a frostbitten corpse and a tiny, atrophied body dangling off of its underside, and if you look at him when his eyes turn red, he turns into a mist and Majin Buu pours himself into Wario's mouth to possess him and make him jump onto the spikes. Incredibly fucked and evil
My favourite WarioWare is Gold. Basically a compilation of the best minigames and it has a very entertaining cartoon story with great jokes and presentation more than even previous games as it had voice acting and it really sells it. Might be one of Charles Martinet's best Wario performances and the supporting cast is delightful. Only a few weeks to pick it up digitally on the eShop and I would highly recommend it. Same for Rhythm Heaven Megamix which is basically a compilation game for Rhythm Heaven by the same team and is equally as fantastic. Both might be in my top 10 3DS games.
Treasure DID make another 3D game you should check out. In some places its called Stretch Panic, in others its called Freak Out. It's not SUPER finished (it doesn't really have an actual ending sadly) but i personally feel its a fun Boss Rush game.
LOVED Wario World as a kid. It's one of the first games I bought with an official Player's Guide, and I would stay up until 6 in the morning playing along with the guide as well as Pokémon Colosseum. Good times.
One huge minus that I will say about Shake It is that music in that game sounds like sitcom music. Compared to 4 or any Wario-inspired game, like Pizza Tower or Antonblast, it really sucks.

yeah I really don't get why Liam hates it. It's Wario distilled into his most pure essence, animated beautifully, and had fun motion controls. Playing the older Wario Land games and not being able to aim the charge throws feels so bad. Also I really enjoyed shaking the crap out of everything.

I actually bought this from a closing locally owned Video Store and went for a full completion run and man I had a lot of fun with it, it's literally if Wario Land went 3D and I have never played Wario Land but seen others play those gems and yeah it still is a good game, a shame it never took off, would've liked Treasure to be still around, making various projects for Nintendo and such.
Wario World needs a port or a sequel cause it was a underrated game yeah it’s short,repetitive and lacks a bit of variety but the bosses we’re unique and odd the puzzles we’re creative and awesome it’s not a perfect game but it’s a good game

I only somewhat recently learned that this game even existed. And it's made by Treasure??? That is usually a good sign. I genuinely like the GBA connectivity too. Connecting platformer Wario with the Warioware stuff is smart.

The sinergy that Nintendo tried to force between GBA and GC was actually one of my favorite things about having both consoles, and i wish they were even bolder with it. It's so sad they ended up leaving it to die, to the point of not even bothering on the Wii U and 3DS era. I remember buying this and getting tired easily, it just didn't work, they should have gone hard with platforming instead of making a lite Beat'em up :/
Completely agree, plugging in the GBA to unlock cool stuff in both was always a fun highlight whenever I found out I had something that took advantage of it.

Treasure had at least one other 3D platformer made 2 years before this game. This was a favourite of mine as a kid, always thought this made Wario way cooler than Mario the way you pulverize the enemies.
As someone who enjoys WarioWare, Wario deserves more than minigame collections and spinoff appearances

I really loved the fact you could do DS download play demos from their Wii channel. It was so cool not having to go to a random Kiosk to try out demos
