2013 Ford Escape 1.6L - Stand Pipe - Recall Issues

- 2013 Ford Escape was brought to me from a used car lot that had repaired accident damage. Afterwards the car would go into a reduced power mode with in a minute of a cold start reporting that the car was overheating. These were the main codes I was chasing, P1299 (cylinder head overtemperature protection active), U1035 (lost comm w/engine coolant level sensor), U0284 (lost communication with active grille shutter module).

I rarely subscribe. No rhyme or reason. But I see someone with a wealth of knowledge with nothing to prove, so that’s a no brainer. Also reminds me to check for recalls on a recent 2014 Ford Escape I bought from an online auction.
Thank you, I need to improve my recording & delivery skills, but till then I’ll keep sharing info. Thanks again amigo!
@@TiosAutoDiagnostics You will go places Sir. Rome wasn’t built in a day!
Got 2013 escape had the keep had same issues ford replaced the coolant stand pipe after having the recall already but now when the coolant gets low it throws the p1299 code again
Great video Thanks, BTW That stand pipe part is over $500....ridiculously expensive
So if the car thinks it has a low coolant level, it falsely makes it look like it's over heating, and starts misfiring, making the rpm go up and down? All that, instead of just shutting down? That's really strange.
One of Ford’s better ideas?!? 🤷♂️
My 2014 Escape is shutting itself down after transmission replacement. Any thoughts? Car has been in shop for close to 3 weeks.
Coolant sensor 🤔
Have 2012 escape had coolant stand pipe replaced after throwing p1299 code . Recall was already done in 2014 . Vehicle stile throws the p1299 code but only when the coolant level gets low
Does yours run like poo when it throws the code?
@@TiosAutoDiagnostics yes
I’m confused, if the coolant level is good it runs fine?
@@TiosAutoDiagnostics yeah it has an leak some where it takes about 2wks for the coolant to get to the low mark on tank and it will throw those the p1299 code . Made an head gasket?
Maybe, now that makes sense. Thanks for watching amigo!
Did the accident result in front end damage? Has anyone had to remove the battery box ? And battery? There are 2 black connectors under battery box that are identical if they are swapped it will do exactly what your describing
That is what happened in this video, but the 2 connectors are at the stand pipe. The other one goes to the active grill shutter module which is missing on this car.
Where find the stand pipe sensor?
Find as in, where to buy or location in vehicle?
