I just bought a 2022 Palisade and I'm so grateful for your video! Please keep the videos coming because us palisade owners are needing videos like this. I am doing the exact same thing on mine and I'm looking forward to your subwoofer video. Thank you so much again! Great color by the way, it's the same exact color as mine.
@@KTM22Ride I swapped out my factory speakers for j&L audio 6x5 coaxials in the front doors and in the back doors, and they sound absolutely beautiful.
@@jmouzooniThe speakers I installed sound very very good, but a subwoofer would be nice. The sound is very rich and full so I would highly recommend swapping speakers out. The JL audio 6x5s sound excellent
I feel compelled to add a comment even though it may be a little late. Not satisfied with my SEL's sound all along but finally took time to search and this... is a great, perfect video for me. Got myself the speakers ($100 / pair now) and installed on all 4 doors, took my time and it took around a couple of hours. Last time I've looked inside a door panel was ages ago, but this was EASY. Once you get one off, then you kinda get the hang of where the pins are located and just pull them and they're off. Beware some pins may be left on the door, make sure you pull them and put it back in place before reassembling. hardest part for me was to pluck a hole in that round rubber thingy for the cable to go through... for some reason mine was a lot thicker than what's shown on this video. As for the sound quality, well it does not create miracle, but I'd say it went from bad to decent. It's a lot clear now, with better separation. I'm surprised with the bass output. I know, it's not a contest against a subwoofer but it's definitely better than before, not boomy but nice tight bass. I like it enough to skip part 3 (the wires look complicated anyway). Thanks again.
Thanks a ton for this video. I am hoping to get my new SEL palisade this February and was looking to upgrade the standard speakers. Truly appreciate your work and showing how easy it really is.
I just put a sub in my 2023 Palisade Limited. I first tied into a rear door speaker but the sub barely had any output. Then I tied into the front passenger doors woofer, red and blue wires and got way better response. I found the wires in the passenger side kick panel.
Thank you very much for sharing - my paper factory installed front speakers became distorted and started squeaking, the dealer replaced them once with the same OEM parts and I'm experiencing the same issue again...this video will certainly assist me with my DIY project as soon as I receive the replacement aftermarket speakers.
Thanks a lot for nice expelanations and videos. 2 questions: 1- how would it sound without the Subwoofer? 2- Will the Harman Kardon factory Amplifier (under the passenger seat) work and also be strong enough for those JBL speakers?
Great video man, I have a 2023 palisade that comes with infinity speakers, i am not satisfied with sound quality, do you think these jbl speakers will sound better?
Yeah, just got my 2023 Calligraphy and the stereo sucks! Looking for an upgrade ASAP. Edit: project is on hold. Someone rear ended my brand new Palisade today with less than 500km on it and its totalled. Gonna be atleast another 3 month wait for another one. 😭
I forgot to ask. Did you disconnect the negative terminal on the car battery before you swap the speakers.? That's the only thing I didn't pick up in your video. Thanks again! Awesome video.
I'm sitting in my 2021 Limited trying to swap speakers, but it seems the Limited has a diff plug. The Metra adapters don't fit the speeker harness on door. Shame.
Nice video! I just got a 2022 Telluride SX, and want to replace sub. Just swapping out for a real sub. Any idea how to pop out the back driverside panel, or where i can find out? I can't find ANYTHING on it. Your videos were closest to my Telluride, and the best. Probably a long shot, but that's what I'm down to lol.
In the description for this video, I included a share drive link to a install guide for a palisade. While it may not be exact it should give you some idea where to start pulling on panels
Are those brackets flush/flat all the way around the back? From the video it almost seemed like there are a notch in it somewhere, and if so, then the wire may be able to go through that, which would simply install even more.
I spoke with Crutchfield and these are what they recommended that were in my budget for the car. Dimension wasn't my focal point, I just wanted the best bang for the buck.
To keep the budget in check. Remember this is my wife’s care not mine. Also since I wasn’t adding an amp, that’s a lot of speaker to run off the factory amp
Looking at Crutchfield's site is says the following for the front speakers. "Note: This speaker location only receives low frequencies. Any speakers you install will only reproduce bass." Is there any sound coming out of your included JBL tweeters after the upgrade?
@@WaterFowler41 It shows up when you select the lower front door, they recommend component systems and have that note under "why they chose those"? I plan on going with the JBLs and leaving the stock tweeters alone but was curious if highs would come out of all 6 speakers after the upgrade. Mine is the base as well.
Nice job putting this series together (at least Part 1, so far😀). Did you get verification that the stock head unit would drive the speakers? Are ohms compatible, etc.? It always seems to come down to the amplification whether it's car or home or whatever sound system. Thanks
So at the end of the day, how did it sound without the sub? Was it a good upgrade? I’m considering doing the same. The jbl620’s are disco’d so I was planning on going with the 622 club.
Quick question, when you did the coaxials on the front doors did the factory Tweeter still work after you installed your new speakers? Because aren't the factory ones component speaker? Thanks so much in advance.
@@ekimandersom4478 is that because of connectors or electrical current? I have Harman system too and not happy with the sound. Wondering if I can upgrade the speakers

Your limited may already have an amp that is splitting the signals. Our Palisade has the base sound systems so each speaker was sent a full signal.

You probably have the higher end stereo which our basic Palisade did not have. You'll need to confirm your adapters with Crutchfield.

Yes they are flat all the way around
What made you go with shallow mount speakers? Excellent video btw. This is how they should be made.

Hey brother would the same work for 2023 Santa Fe Hybrid?

Looking at Crutchfield's site is says the following for the front speakers. "Note: This speaker location only receives low frequencies. Any speakers you install will only reproduce bass." Is there any sound coming out of your included JBL tweeters after the upgrade?
Our palisade is the base stereo. They are giving us the full range of sound. I’ve never seen that note on their site.

I guess my verification was the speakers working after the install and sounding much more crisp than factory.
Hi, question.
Do you have a link for the mounting bracket??
No I don’t the brackets came with the speakers when you buy speakers from Crutchfield
How do you think, will JBL GTO629 be better here? Has Palisade SE and a stock sound is horrible.

The speakers by themselves are a great upgrade

Yup speakers worked fine as did the tweeters. I suspect they are wired in parallel
@@WaterFowler41 Do you think these factory installed tweaters need to be replaced too?

Slightly different check out my back door speaker install. I cover the exact steps needed.
How about all the wires? Is it included with the speaker? Thanks
The subwoofer is turn key, everything included!
What's your thoughts on changing the front tweeters?
It can be done but it’s not very turn key, requires some cutting
Hi question ? those speakers is working good with the factory hardam kardon apm ?
