@ I just feel bad for the people who don't know it's from the Tao Te Ching.... Since you attributed it to BRUCE LEE without referencing the primary source.... Guess it doesn't matter cause wisdom is wisdom but just wow... One of the most classic and world changing texts ever written.... And you saying it's a Bruce Lee original.... Wild
Don't listen to BS. Strength allows you to punch faster, smoother, harder, more accurately, and with less effort. If you can bench press two 200 lb dumbbells with ease -- remaining fluid and practiced in your technique, and your legs, back, and torso strength keep pace with the power of your arms, you can punch better and faster than when you could only press 100 lbs. Bas Rutten said, "If Bruce Lee fought in MMA he would lose. He would lose." Lee was an actor not a fighter. The 1-inch punch is a fraud. It's a parlor trick. You can be more relaxed, tension free, in the flow, with greater agility, when you're stronger. Can a house cat beat a puma? Can a lightweight champ beat a heavyweight champ? Be serious.
@@brucelee_reimagined Everything goes beyond the physical: strength, speed, agility, timing, distance awareness, footwork and maneuvering, feinting finesse, combination punching, blocking, parrying, slipping, ducking, rolling, and countering all require elite coaching and mental acuity to reach their zenith. But strength is the most important physical asset for any fighter -- and no lightweight will ever become heavyweight champion.
Bruce is so philosophical that oftentimes people misunderstand him, what Bruce trying to explain is that the more effort you put into your punch to hit harder the more negative force happens to your punch the definition of what you want to control ends up controlling you. Bruce is also a fan of strength training especially isometric one. He also does a lot of calisthenics. Here he is referring to strength as effort, too much strength will make you weaker, thus strength becomes a trap also almost everything is important when it comes to combat sports no such thing as strength is the most important thing ever or it will just become a battle of who can lift or hit harder, It is more than that.
@@Taye76 "He also does a lot of calisthenics" Nope. He died at 32. Conditioning and endurance are important. Boxers often run 5 to 7 miles daily at a hard pace. If you can run 5 miles in 30 minutes and recover well in 5 minutes (you ran too hard if you don't recover in short order) you can fight a hard 12 rounds. You exert little effort as you feint and feel your opponent out. Finishing off a hurt opponent can take maximum effort if you're behind on points, need a KO, and the final bell is looming. It's like a basketball team who's 5 points behind with a minute to go. They're not worried about getting tired from trying too hard. Their adrenaline is pumping.
This is Gold. Subscribed. Now I understand why I was able to do what I did without training. My power was the removal of all fear and allowing instinct (bending / flowing) to materialise. I've seen it in action. That example Bruce gave with the beginner and the experienced. I kicked a black belt in the head after one month of karate training, during training. Everyone was shocked. But Bruce was right. He was too rigid and full of "strength". I was just myself. I didn't have to be anything or anyone else. This happened more times on the street. In conclusion, I worked out I only need to work on fitness 95% and 5% learning the art. Only needed no more than several weeks to three months to employ what I needed when I needed. Why? Because I visualised, like Bruce. But I spent many more years than Bruce visualising. The secret to my success is no way as the way. That is the key. You cannot be water if you already predetermined your movements. Can I get a transcript of this? This is all I need to reinforce what I already know, except about being invisible.

Strength is an illusion said the man who did countless pushups and isometric exercises.
90% is mental, 10% is physical. He knew to prepare his body that it will strengthen the mind and within
