    You're an Introvert
    if:
Your inner monologue never stops. ...
You enjoy spending plenty of time alone. ...
You do your best thinking alone. ...
You often feel lonelier in a crowd than when you're alone. ...
You feel like you're faking it when you have to network. ...
You have no desire to be the center of attention.

@@funplayer05.1 That makes sense. Starting small doesn't necessarily have to be the stereotypical "small talk"; the weather, gossip mundane insubstantial things. My version of starting small is asking what someone's favorite book is and what drew them in and going from there. Helps that I work in a bookstore, but this can be applied regardless. Imo, just that tidbit of info gives a lot of insight into a person.

It;s just exhausting listening to someone prattle on and on about who's doing who, where so-n-so is sleeping this time, who's having a baby because of someone other than BF or Hubby... and how half the valley is related through the other half... and which one's probably got the better dogs, or who's feuding this week or month...
Worse... it's listening to all this and KNOWING for a fact that more than half of it's utterly BS. Take a rumor from whatever rumor-mill and go straight to the source. You don't even have to ask directly (which would be rude or worse depending). Just hang out and ease the conversation around toward subjects related to whatever you want to find out... You'll find out that whatever you were told from the rumor-mill has little or no bearing what so ever on the actual situation...
The feud? There was a bit of an argument over something silly at a store or market... OR it's the same two old guys who CONSTANTLY give each other grief, but couldn't be better friends. They just talk trash at each other all the time, because it's their "dance"...
The bastard child? The dude she "was with" turns out to be an old flame from high school, and she spent WAY longer than is usually "responsible" chatting over old times at a coffee shop... only to go home as usual, and sleep with her "old man" the same as any other night.
Better dogs? Yeah, maybe... depending on what you want a dog for... The old man of the house still knows how to be a great houndsman, but he can't get up the trails into the mountains anymore, and the kid couldn't pay enough attention to keep up a proper hound if you put a gun to his head... SO there's probably still a generation of good dogs, but it won't last.
Who's doing who? Who even cares??? The fact is, the person bothering to explain about all the freely willing sex in the area is just pissed off because he/she isn't getting any and has an uncontrollable urge to fantasize and rant and rave about everybody else's supposed (fictional) whoring around and tom-cattin'...
Family relations through the valley, county, or town... Somebody has WAY too much free time and energy to commit all that to memory. I've been accused of being related to someone else, and my family only moved into the area about twenty years ago... from 2000 miles out west. The family in question is Irish descent, and I'm thoroughly German with possibly a smattering of Dutch... It's practically impossible... unless you historically backtrack about a thousand years...
SO it's not just exhausting. It's EMPTY and exhausting... Why not talk about anything else??? Try a possibly shared interest. What happened in your last session of a TTRPG? What video game has you captivated most recently or for longest? what books do you look for or read? Do you get into mechanical or electrical/electronic or engineering or some other science or discipline? Any hobbies I haven't tried that you'd like to check out? Are you interested in learning a craft I'm known for?... The list could go on for hours... ;o)

    In general, introverts:👍
    Need quiet to concentrate.
    Are reflective.
    Are self-aware.
    Take time making decisions.
    Feel comfortable being alone.
    Don't like group work.
Prefer to write rather than talk.
Feel tired after being in a crowd.

Daily Dose of Medicine - Though I’m definitely an introvert, I actually do enjoy group projects, but it’s probably because I didn’t do them very often. The value for me is in learning how other people operate. It’s so interesting to see how different people approach the same task in such varied ways.
For those of us who view the world through an ANTHROPOLOGICAL lens, it’s endlessly fascinating to explore the different ways in which we’re hard-wired. I like conversational interviews to find out what makes people tick. As long as I’m in research mode, I’m totally energized by human interaction.

I’m an introvert and I’m called a leader a lot, I thought that introverts couldn’t be leaders. Last year I was chosen to go to a leadership day, I was so confused because I’m so quiet and scared of talking in front of people

Congrays on being chosen. Did it go well? Sometimes it's hard to see the qualities in ourselves that others see, so you probably made a good impression without realizing it.
I've recently tsken a leadership role in a project at work and was a bit concerned over whether those involved would really be serious about following my lead, but I've been pleasantly surprised by the result.

What've understood about introverts is that they tend to get tired when communicating. They can be leaders, teachers, businessmen/women, anything really but they tend to get tired faster. They just need some time to relax and recharge and that's it. While on the other hand extroverts can go on and on without relaxing. They simply are okay with being busy minded (I guess).

Yeah, I relate. I had a job, where I was super efficient, extremely communicative, excellent team player and very organised. They told me I'd be an excellent leader. So I went for it and became one. It was difficult, I'm introverted and getting others to fall in line and complete tasks, follow routines/rotas take the right brakes on time without taking the mick. I quit in the end under stress reasons. Theres a reason boss's are extroverted as they have that quality that gets them listened to and respected. I just like you am not a follower, neither am a leader. I work best under my own steam, I know how to get things done efficiently and in order, whilst managing my own time well. Take my advice........stay being you. So much less mental stress to be what others want you or convince you to become. Some of us just work best on our own steam👍

Not that this is necessarily exclusive to introverts, but I just feel that the best leaders of all time are highly sensitive people and people that care for other people. People that can easily sense how others are feeling; when somethings wrong in another person's life, and care enough to go out of their way to help that person. This care and sensitivity reflect in everything they do - even at scale, and ultimately, this is what I feel have, can, and will create the best leaders in the entire world. So inspiring to see leaders like this!

Hey, please read this. I need advices.
My name is Roman, and I am 16. Currently, I am living in France, and I need answers from some of you.
I have been struggling with social anxiety since I was 10. I have always been anxious, but this anxiety is getting worse since the quarantine, and I don’t know what to do.
In my family, as a man, you shouldn’t show your emotions and talk about your problems. But I’ve been bottling up all my emotions and problems since I was 10, and I think I can’t no more.
Also, school has resumed. I am a very good student and my parents put a lot of pressure on me, in order to do better in life than they did. I am a perfectionist, so I also naturally put pressure on myself, because I won’t allow myself to fail. But I am lost and don’t really know what to do as a job. I would want to be a musician, but my parents want me to become an engineer. My social anxiety also doesn’t help with social interactions at school, as you can imagine.
I’ve also experienced panic attacks since the quarantine because of this stressful, almost toxic environment that I’m living in. And I fear every one of the future panic attacks I’ll have, which gives me even more anxiety.
I definitely need someone to talk to about everything, but my parents won’t listen. Every time I want to talk about something serious about me, they’ll laugh and tell me I exaggerate.
I thought about a psychologist, but my parents would have to know about it, and I don’t want them to.
I am stuck right now. I am slowly closing in on myself, and I am aware of it. I’ve never been a fan of going out or partying, but now I am fearing it. I am at the lowest I’ve ever been. These past weeks, I have thought about suicide, but the only thing that keeps me alive is the fear of suffering physically.
What can I do ? Please give me answers.

Hey Roman, I'm Kamil and I'm from Ireland.
I'm not sure where to start. I'm not sure if I have social anxiety but not so long ago, when school started, I felt really miserable. Mostly because of homework, it was just ruining my school life. I took me hours to do them (did them until midnight) and sometimes I didn't even finish some of them so I had to do it when I had lunch breaks. I also had other stuff going on and it was like a Domino effect, every domino that falls it gets worse and you can't stop it. I also hold my emotions to myself, but I was quite the opposite of you. I actually wanted to cry, especially since I didn't cry in a VERY long time. I felt like I lost the ability to cry so being miserable and not being able to cry is a very bad combination. I also said in my head that I wanted to die, but what I really meant was I wanted to end my suffering but still live on. Also killing myself would be hard, because I know that if I killed myself, my family and friends would miss me. My family would be very heartbroken and I don't want them to suffer emotionally so killing myself is a no for me. Right now, I think I recovered from my depression (if that's the right word). I didn't really talk to anyone about it and I kept it to myself. I think for you it might be a different case, I don't really know your situation fully. The only information I have is from your comment so my advice might not be the best but I'll try my best. It seems to me that you have been suffering from this for quite a while now and you should definitely get professional help, a psychologist would be recommended, although I know it's not easy to say "Oh just get a psychologist". I have a feeling it will be hard for you, this might be a challenge especially since your parents tend to laugh it off but maybe try suggest to them that you need a psychologist. If they still laugh it off, that's very ignorant of your parents. If that happens, maybe you can somehow get an appointment on your own? (If that is possible). If anything, there are some hotlines that you can call, and hopefully if you do get an appointment with a psychologist, hopefully it won't be expensive, or hopefully the French Government will provide you with free appointments. I hope you get well, I understand your situation a bit, and I sympathise with you. If I can help in anyway, let me know. Hopefully more people will reply to help you too! ❤

That plushie of Psi was so cute that I gasped out loud when I saw it. This video was a nice confidence booster by the way. There are so many extroverts in the world that most leaders that I tend to think of and see are not that similar to me. It's nice to see leadership spoken about through these lenses because I genuinely never thought about leadership in terms of introvert and extrovert. It's lovely hearing my own quieter more unassuming leadership traits spoken of so positively and regarded for having true value.

I love being 50/50 introvert extrovert. I hear things from this where it's like "yeah that's me!" and at other times where the "extroverted leaders do..." and I'm like "oh that's me too!" Depth and meaning, not rushing, being analytic... Having a big picture, not being organized... Sometimes I listen well and sometimes I'm entirely distracted and reflective about my next statement... Unfocused and needing to change, but not needing to travel constantly. I need routine and change. I stick to big projects for a long time, but ADHD means new ideas carry me to new places. I love staying home and don't travel. I don't care about my reputation and I practice my own morals. But those morals aren't as consistent as they could be. I try to be objective. I don't value ambition but I have it... My personality is like a tensor product of competing forces, codependency and narcissism, warrior and hypersensitive, philosopher and artist, reckless and cautious, austere and hedonistic. The shearing force of these different genomes sure construct for a confusing life experience. But through it all I really do feel like "me" and not just a jumble, despite that sometimes it objectively feels that way.

Being a leader is also about caring about everyone around you, and bringing them up when they are down, and finding the best situation to help people, and having real respect from people because you have earned it and have been good to people who realy trust you.
Tried and tested. Never needed a video to show me what to do.

I really like the content you make on this channel - the animations are cute and often there are many informative videos. So please keep in mind that the critique I will mention is really not about beating on the content or hating on the channel.
I just noticed how it tends to be shown like "introverts" are some species of people who are "all the same way" every time there is a video titled something with introverts - Not all introverts make decisions based on objectives. Introverted people are just as diverse as the rest of the population, and some are more prone to follow impulses than others. As well goes for the rest of the points listed in this (yes even the spotlight one - being in the spotlight can be more than just being 'the center of attention' - as people we all like to be aknowledged and feel valued, which often goes hand in hand with moments of attention from one or more people.) - The reason why I feel the need to comment this, is because I get a sense that many young people trying to get to know themselves better, might also watch this video wanting to learn about themselves, and completely miss out on figuring out whether they are introverted or extroverted, thus how they should practice selfcare better. Individuals with for instance ADHD, ADD which tends to come off as very extroverted, can just as well be introverts, but they probably would hardly ever fit into the very narrow boxes set up by these sorts of videos.
I think it would be very very lovely to include at least a comment at the beginning, that this is an example of what could be found in introverted individuals - I think it could help a lot of young teens going through self discovery :)
That being said - really great work with all of your content - and also it is so amazing that you provide your references - this is a great way to start for people who are new to psychology but who wants to get into learning more about it. Keep up the good work

I am an introvert leader... in an organization full of extrovert managers... It is a pain in the ass... I have to move forward in a rush the things that can be scarified.. the pawns, while the team gets sometime to prepare the cavalry. The extroverts like to have something to chew on... but it is hard to work at two speeds... I usually get hammered as the engineering manager but I make sure that my colleagues can get the time to do what they need to do with the best quality possible in the time we have allocated for that task. It is very stressful. And the worst of all that the rushing is worthless... all the problems that I foresee coming to us, end up coming to us... My team is prepared and ready to act on it, but it is a mess

When my superior is ill or is on holidays, I usually share her duties with another guy for those times. One day a co-worker said to me, she rather wants me to do it alone then share those duties. She said, i have a natural authoritarian aura to me and make better decisions more effectively. That's nice! But little does she know, that it always freaks the hell out of me, when I have to step up cuz since it's happening just a couple of times a year, I don't have any routine and therefore feel quite insecure everytime again.

I actually feel connected to each one of these to an extremely high degree, with the 8th being one of the highest. This is mostly due to the fact that I can correct even my mother’s spelling/grammar. Random thing: anime is incredibly good for your vision (specifically subbed). After watching anime for so long, even if the tv lags and a full sentence is only on screen for 0.1 seconds I can read and comprehend it subconsciously. For context, the average human reading speed (if fluent in a language) is 400 words per minute which is around the same speed as a regular conversation… I can go up to 900 words per minute with only minor difficulty. I only start having any trouble whatsoever past 850 words per minute. 800 words per minute is considered by many to be borderline superpower level. So I think it’s safe to say that anime is good for your eyes. Imma go unconscious for 8 hours now. Bye?

I like their videos a lot for the most part because they make me feel good, but there is a difference between being a leader and thinking you're the leader. Introverted, extroverted, it doesn't matter if you don't step up to the plate. This video was just made to make people feel good about themselves instead of asking ,the hard questions. Are you REALLY a good leader for X position? What makes you STAND OUT from the rest of the people who want this position? Will you being leader BENEFIT THE TEAM? Its one thing to make people feel good about themselves, but it's another to give them false hope.

Wow how do you manage a profession in sales? I feel like I could never try to persuade someone to buy something. As soon as they say they're not interested, I'd just go "Oh, ok. No problem." I've always written off a career in sales for myself because of that.
