Beeeautifulll how the sunlight breaks through your eyelashes...is there a button on the left side of the steering wheel? Kinda looks like you're pressing something there, but never on the right side though?!
There is a button on the steering whee (control column)l. Wel actually there are 2. The one you are talking about is the trim wheel. This keeps the plane in "trim" position for the pressend speed and configuration. You don't feel pressure on the control column. On the other side of the steering wheel is a PTT (Press to talk) button. We use that to communicate to ATC. The same button is also on the ACP (Audio Control Panel). Those buttons are all situated on the left side and there are no buttons on the right side (Of the captains control column) On the First Officers side it is the opposite.
@@mightymkl many thanks for the detailed answer! The ATC button was inderdaad my next question bc its not visible in the camera angle when you press it or I just didn't recognize it🤔
mightymkl you're very welcome, I hope one day you will film another approach into Malta maybe in winter when the land will be greener, thank you so much for keeping me busy with your amazing footages .
In the video it seems that the ALS of the 24L is the one that you find for a CAT I runway. I thought that a CAT II/III runway had a different type of ALS (for example the red barrettes of lights 300 m before the threshold).
Just been looking into this. For Palm de Mallorca runway 24L is the only runway where it is possible to perform a CAT II/III landing. As I can see from the charts we use for the approach towards runway 24L the first 300m has extra barrettes, meeting the requirements for the CAT II/III approach (apart from other criteria you need to have off course).
Dus vandaar!
I don't remember the amount of tailwind during the approach, but I am sure that it was less than 15kts since that is our maximum tailwind component. ;-)
Hee Mike, leuke video weer. Wat is er met je kuif gebeurt??
Geen idee️! 😂
Bedankt voor je reactie.

Question: if 24L is a CAT II/III runway, why the app. lightnings are those of a CAT I?
Can you please specify your question?
Runway 24L meets the requirements for CAT II/III landings. (Even the ground equipment).
In the video it seems that the ALS of the 24L is the one that you find for a CAT I runway. I thought that a CAT II/III runway had a different type of ALS (for example the red barrettes of lights 300 m before the threshold).

OK. Thank you very much for your time, captain. In fact, in the video too, you show the runway chart and it has the ALS for CAT II/III app.
On paper it is correct... but I get your point. On de ground the barrettes are not clearly visible. Thanks for your interesting question! :-D
waarom zeggen jullie altijd "runway treshold and landing"?
Dus vandaar!
wind is bad for 24L, why wasnt 06L for landing?
They changed runway several minutes after we landed.
ahhh okay good to know! Thank you :)
I understand your question... landing with tailwind is not favorable. ;-)
yes thats not favorable :) thats why i asked because you had fully tailwind as i saw - but i didnt see how many kts :) Thanks for answering!
I don't remember the amount of tailwind during the approach, but I am sure that it was less than 15kts since that is our maximum tailwind component. ;-)
