This is one of the best moments I've ever seen in television. I'm not kidding, this is incredible. Great writing, great acting, a simultaneously heartwarming and heartbreaking scene. And I think Boris is so human here. "I hoped that I would matter one day. But I didn't. I just stood next to people who did." Incredible show. Respect to all the people who lost their lives in this terrible disaster.
A nice video summarising the growing partnership between them and highlights Boris' transformation from another 'obedient fool' into the man who forced the rusty Soviet bureaucracy to act and gather all the men and materials they needed. As Legasov himself says; he knew what to do, but it was Boris that made that knowledge mean something by providing the political weight to actually get it done.
