Xun Yu and Cao Cao's relationship is heart-wrenchingly sad, especially on Xun Yu's side.
Xun Yu was regarded by historians as one of the best, if not THE best of strategists of Wei power.
He was loyal to the Han family, Han Dynasty. and to CaoCao. Yet later he discovered that CaoCao had wanted to be the emperor himself. That's when he realized he could no longer assist Cao Cao because of their difference in loyalty.
He confronted CaoCao. In return CaoCao gifted him an empty food box, as a hint to Xun Yu that the Han Dynasty is long gone and empty, and that his loyalty is blind and futile. To that Xun Yu ended his own life.
Since i'm not confident enough in my translation ability, I'll be thankful if anyone points out any mistake :)
