Some people hate everyone and everything, I don't really understand why they watch videos they don't like. Must truly suck to be so hateful for absolutely no reason other than they are just those kind of people. Sad if you think about it, and they are probably extremely lonely people because most normals have no desire to be around them. I know I would not want to share in their existence.

Motorcycles are very personal extensions of the rider to a great many motorcyclists. Especially one on which you have enjoyed a lot of travel and adventure. So I get it that losing a bike in the middle of a long trip is something of an emotional setback. Not to mention that unless you are very lucky with the replacement, you will have to fit the bike to you so that you can comfortably ride long distances on it.
I’m anxious to hear the tale and learn what the resolution is going to be. Best of luck finding an affordable and suitable replacement that speaks to you!

There are so many fantastic rides in AZ. Roosevelt Lake Dam used to be a favorite ride for us. You can go around the dam and down the hill on Highway 88. Fantastic ride to Tortilla Flats (great history here). Go past Tortilla Flats and it is a very windy road that goes down to the Lost Dutchman Mine State park and then to Apache Junction.

In '74 we were traveling from So Cal to Yellowstone and got to Wyoming (outside the park) and needed oil changes. We stopped at a dealer and asked if they could do an oil
change on 3 bikes. Well.. they didn't have time so asked if we wanted to do it ourselves. Sure...that's no big deal.... but where? 'Out in the field, just dig a hole and then cover it up when your done.
Put the filters in this bucket inside'...... Being from Calif we were shocked till we saw all the other holes in the field. That's how things were.... back then!

Hey Chris, That pounding noise you mentioned that you didn't know what it was. Is a Tin beaked woodpecker. Common to the southwest they only forage for food on or near metal post and feed primarily on ants and small insects. Their favorite nesting place is campers pulled by old farts on Harley's.
( I'm not saying Richard is an old fart or anything like that. BUT! he dose ride a Harley and he dose pull a camper.. hahaha.)
Sorry to hear about your lose Chris. I know when I wrecked my big touring bike I spend about three years trying to decide what I wanted from my next bike and what I wanted to do with it. Which is why I choose my 2011 Suzuki Burgman 650 Executive. fully automatic 6 speed on the fly gear box. 56 liter storage under the seat, three deep clove boxes, same wheel base as a Harley 883 wind screen that slide up and down a the touch of a button, Mirrors to. 4 gallon gas tank in the rear. full fairing. and thanks to the all gear final drive it will not only keep up with Richards bike. from a dead start it will out run his Harley for about the first 20 feet.
While the burgman 650 executive is listed as a scooter its anything but. it's more like a scooter on steroids.

Plastic zippers may last longer if you rub the teeth with a candle. Some wax lubes the teeth, but won’t attract dirt and sand. Light oil or vaseline will lube the teeth, but hold sand etc. For chapped lips, lips get some bag balm.

John Steinbeck (Grapes of Wrath) traveled in a pickup with a camper on the back. He had a plastic garbage can, and did laundry in it. Partly filled with warm water, dirty clothes, and some soap. (A 5-7 gallon waterproof bag would travel better on a bike.). Hung it on bungees in the shower. It bounced as he drove. (May prefer to hang a bag in camp and agitate it?). At lunch stop, he poured out soapy water, probably did a pre-rinse, and put clothes in cold water and rehung the can. Later, hung clothes on lines in the camper. You have a screened in den. Not far from where I live, in Fountain Hills. The shortcut to Roosevelt is the apache trail, but it's closed now. Supposed to be reopened next month. It's not much of a short cut in that it's a little tough for street bikes or used to be. Can be done, but takes a while. Desert mice/rats are a thing here. They will eat the wiring under the hood of cars. As far as the final drive, it's not that surprising. If they can be rebuilt, it's $4-500, if not, a new unit is over $2k. There's are a couple vendors that sell used part. Beemer Bone Yard is one of them. I use them for maintenance items. Anyway, good luck with the GS.

I wonder if gluing some flexible magnetic strips along the bottom of the door will keep the mice out. The only thing I worry about is if the shell is sealed the mice might try eating through the canvas to get inside. Maybe you should look into getting an ultrasonic repeller or some other device that will keep them away.

Wish I’d waited a few more days to watch this. That way the cliffhanger wouldn’t be such a long wait. Hope all works out incredibly favorably for you.

Hey you two! New subscriber here. Hubby and I have been binge watching your channel, we are officially addicted. We are already guessing what the outcome of the cliff hanger is. He says one thing, I am guessing another, but we both have a similar idea. We will see who wins. Whatever it is, we hope if it's a negative it is turning into a positive. You are truly an inspiration.

Well, I see that you are still in full gear and don't seem to have any bumps or bruises. That's good! Looking forward to seeing what you will be riding in the future. Sometimes it's a good thing when a bike has to be replaced. Upgrades...woohoo! Oh... and btw...storing bread in a small plastic or tin bin will help keep the rodents away. Will fit nicely tucked in a corner under the bunk.

What? Talk about an epic shocker/ cliffhanger! Great video guys, loved the mouse hunt and the cornbread cooking, we do a thing called Bannock bread over a campfire in a similar way. Stay safe.

my guess it will be large enough to drag a small trailer, help distribute some weight. maybe a hard side yeti. and mouse traps.😂😋

We used to spend time in Showlow AZ, its a really neat little town. Then we would take rides down to Roosevelt Lake, what a breath taking ride up and down the mountain. What the heck happened to your nice BMW......????
