It's interesting that this may lead us to the revelation the Dogmeat is a synth too.

@@FalloutPBC Yes the more I think about it the more it seem likely both this dog and Dogmeat are synths. But the next question is does that make Wilzig institute?
I saw the name ages ago and not once did I make that connection. But now it seem obvious!

CX404 is probably a synth but could also possibly be some kind of cyberdog like Rex from New Vegas.
That's a possibility I hadn't thought of.
This dog in the show is modeled after the dog in Fallout 4 she’s like a super dog genetically modified as a synth or something else we don’t know

Dogmeat was a 100% healthy pure bred German Shepard in a world full of hairless, scabby irradiated mutts...he was absolutely a synth.
But he was also "his own man". He chooses the SS as his human and defends you with his life every day. Ultimately - He is the goodest boy!
Yeah, I think so too. Like you said he is just way too healthy, strong and durable.
Do you think it makes sense that Father programmed DM to protect and obey the SS while telling the rest of the department heads the purpose of the dog was to track and supply intel on the SS?
I think the dog in the show being called CX404 is a clear message from Bethesda. But I guess we'll find out in a few weeks.
Of course Dogmeat is a synth. Healthy, smart, durable, in a world full of irradiated hairless feral dogs, it makes perfect sense. But Dogmeat makes his own choices, like Danse, and will even sit up and salute Elder Maxson (sort of) after his speech on the Prydwen. Regardless, he's a good boy.
In my current playthrough, Dogmeat is ever present as I use the mod to make him an extra companion, as was originally intended.
Plus I have the BoS dog armour pack too.

I must say I did find the constantly changing scenery a bit jarring. The problem with filming in New York was it looked like New York far too much at times.
In the show, do they at some point call him "Forty" or something shorter than CX? I feel like they call him something else ... right
The Ghoul starts to call her Dogmeat late in the show.
Maybe its just an advanced cyber dog from Vegas and wandered aimlessly til they found the survivor/vaul deeller.

CX404 is a lady dog.
Yes, we didn't know that at the time but the show confirmed it is a lady dog.
So the institute won. Makes sense

Meh... malinois again... apparently german shepherds aren't clever enough anymore for filming...
I'm just guessing here I don't know very much about dogs, but perhaps they chose a Malinois to play CX404 because they look a lot leaner.
@@FalloutPBC The breed is clever beyond imagination and loves to work, but probably that it has the looks yea. Still, looking forward to the show, the trailer looks really cool.
And I'm guessing it's somekinda gene engineered "dog" in the series :D

We know Wilzig is a scientist so that would make sense too.

Yeah quite a few of us think Dogmeat being a synth makes a lot of sense.
I won't say anything about the origin of CX404 in case people haven't seen the show yet.
