I am the proud owner of a Suzuki SX4 sedan 1.6 liters, M16A engine, from 2012, with 167,000 kilometers, manual transmission.
    Fuel efficiency is: City 10 km/liter. Highway 18 km/liter.
I bought it used in 2016. It has never failed me, very reliable. I maintain it strictly and have never had any problems. I put quality oil according to my budget (Ravenol DXG 5w30) and always original Suzuki filters. Although he is beginning to show his age, he continues to run without problems. Last year and this year we went on vacation in the vehicle, we traveled 8000 kilometers each time, and without any problems. I'm from Chile. Greetings.

Years ago, my brother bought a new Suzuki Aerio (I dubbed it, AERIO SPEEDWAGON). He only had it for a month before the main bearings stated to rumble. He took it back to the dealership and the service manager said that that was normal. My brother builds race engines and he told the manager that that is NEVER normal. They refused to fix it and he refused to take it home. About 6 months or so later Suzuki recalled Aerios for main bearing failure.

Suzuki cars are pretty popular in Japan. Their Swift Sports come with a 1400cc or 1600cc engine and either MT or AT. The 4x4 Jimny, 4x4 Jimny Sierra, Carry kei pickup truck, and their 2-seat Cappuccino sportster are very popular models.
In 2020, Motortrend called the Jimny “a real driver’s car … With classic 4x4 design cues and an old-school driveline in a pint-size package, it’s like driving the Jeep Wrangler’s little brother.” A forbidden fruit in the US, you are unfortunately missing out on a great vehicle.

Here in Europe, Suzukis are popular. Statistics show that suzuki is actually in the top 4 car brands, along with honda, lexus and toyota when it comes to reliability. They are somewhat simple, but that is probably one of the reasons why they rarely break. Toyota and Suzuki have been working together for a few years now, like the aircross sold in europe is a rebranded rav 4, and the suzuki swace is a corolla. Also, toyota are using some technology from suzuki in the compact car segment, while suzuki got to use hybrid technology from toyota. Suzuki will manufatcture some smaller models as rebranded toyotas in some markets.

I've had several situations over the years where off-shore parts failed over and over again, until they were replaced with original parts. Once replaced with OEM parts, they powered on for the remaining life of the vehicle for many years. I've experienced these issue with; mass airflow sensors, catalytic converters, distributor caps, spark plugs and coils.

2 litter engine???!! It should run great! Maybe fast....
    But I rented one once.
It struggled on the interstate at 65 or more.... sounded like it was running at high RPMs!
OK for around town. Or for and old fart like me! I'll just keep a truck around too. Need something for mountain roads and buying washer and dryers!
I'd swear that little Suzukie was a two cylinder engine... and NOT a 2 litre engine!!

Actually they did make a concept in collaboration with Gran Turismo 7.
"The Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo is an old-but-new virtual race car. It's based on the GSX-R/4 concept from 2001 but thoroughly updated to keep up with the times. The two-seater speedster is technically mid-engined since the ICE sits between the two axles, behind the front wheels.
Rather than having an engine borrowed from a car, it uses the high-revving inline-four taken from the Hayabusa sports bike. The 1.3-liter mill works with three electric motors, two driving the front wheels and one mounted at the back to give the Suzuki Vision Gran Turismo an all-wheel-drive layout. The combined output is 426 horsepower (318 kilowatts) at a screaming 9,700 rpm and a peak torque of 610 Newton-meters (450 pound-feet).
The hybrid machine weighs only 970 kilograms (2,138 pounds) and features a design clearly derived from the Swift Sport. From the two-tone alloy wheels to the Champion Yellow body color, the latest VGT is essentially a hot hatch turned into a roofless sports car that sadly exists only in the virtual realm. On the Gran Turismo official website, we get to learn a Gr.3 version will follow at a later date.
As with the other VGT cars before it, Suzuki's digital creation has zero chance of entering production. Hopefully, a real car will be built to be showcased at public events such as the Tokyo Auto Show. We'd argue it represents a vast improvement over the original and somewhat quirky concept from more than two decades ago."

It isnt that suzki are bad cars, it is just really hard to get parts and no one has knowledge how work on them. Every part has to be ordered and shipped. as no company made aftermarket parts as no one bought the cars to justify making the replacement parts
A mazda is far better choice than a suzki
