I’ve wondered about these rental units. They tend to have really high mileage but look good at a first glance. Thank you for another superb inspection video. I have learned something from every video you’ve done.
You refer to it as the "dreaded call". I would consider the call ' Thank goodness I avoided a major headache and a money pit. The inspection paid for itself". There are several TH-camrs who think buying from a rental company is a grand idea. This gives one pause to reconsider.
just a little story; was a mechanic for 55+ years and as you know, made my living by finding out what was wrong and repairing it. but, i drive people crazy because i subconsciously diagnose what's wrong with all of their stuff. i don't realize i'm doing it! then later i will mention what was wrong and am told i'm so negative. i come back and say, i have been doing this for so long, it's second nature. this is how i made money. it just happens. 75 now, and i wouldn't change anything. i enjoyed it all! was fortunate enough to be a part of the entire muscle car era. worked on em' all! now days you couldn't pay me enough money to work on the new stuff wish i was young enough to work with you all ! not meaning to blow my own horn, but i was very good. we would have gotten along really well i believe. may the wind be at your back and the sun in your face !
Your little moisture meter has shown the issue loud and clear, no way would I want to have to rip up flooring to fix rot. Let alone the walls or ceiling. This is just too much work to be a good deal.
Reminds me of a highly praised u-haul competitor who rented me a moving trailer. Wth two brake lights and one turn signal burnt out. I said no, that's not gonna be my ticket. The car doesn't move till you get some light bulbs in there.
Nice job! I did know someone once that bought a used rental C that actually was in pretty good shape for the price . . Importantly no leaks or spongy floors or walls! Guess they were lucky.! No water damaged units for me!! This does point out quality control issues . Why would they replace some roof trim & Not reseal?? Why would they Not redo the entire roof?? Arrgghh!! ;-)
The client signed a contract and paid for a complete inspection. This had not been completed by lunch time but Blue Ox found enough objective damage to call the customer and see if they wanted to pursue the full inspection or call it quits at that point. You and I are not invested emotionally in this RV and probably would have pulled the plug. The client, however, requested the inspection be completed , which is their right. The afternoon inspection documents additional issues found with this used rental. We don't know what the client decided to do after seeing the full report. One key point is that used RV rentals can be a money pit despite being touted by other TH-camrs as "well maintained RVs at bargain prices". BTW, I am not affiliated with the channel and am just an interested viewer.
C4BO, it’s not a dreaded call it’s a save your 🫏 call and I would be very happy to get it! Remember there’s always another one you can buy, not this junk that belongs in the junkyard. Lipstick on the pig!

That RV is ready for a final trip to California

😉 I'm hoping 🙏 some people will get the subliminal message 🙄
So much for the great myth that buying a used [up] rental van has to be a great bargain because the fleets must be well maintained for rental use.
Hope other people get the memo as well 😉
Great video. Thank you. I call it a bust.
No way! Great video. I always learn something from you two. Keep teaching me!
Glad we can help !
Bust for me. Thanks.

Thanks for chiming in...your story is commendable and thanks for being one of us. I wish you'd be 10 years younger right?
@@blueoxontherun9188 you better believe it!
actually wish i would have heard about this profession 40 years ago!!
You would have loved this 😉
Its like anything else , if you don't fix the little problems , then you will have bigger problems that will give a person costly nightmares .

Remember...they told me they use a pin moisture meter when they refurbish !!!
I guess the meter didn't work lol
Those things have sped by me like I was standing still on the expressway. I see them for sale and was always leery.
Hope it's clear now 🤣

C4bo nice job
C4BO.OMG - Hey Buyer - when Blue Ox makes that dreaded call - RUN Forrest RUN!!!!!
🤣🤣 he was probably frustrated to have paid us to go through a unit he thought was in great condition at first site...
Bustorama !! Happy Thanksgiving ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Good one 🤣🤣

For me, it would have been a bust at lunch!
To anyone 😉...
It's a pretty good bet that those kind of units would be bad...No way that's worth a plug nickel!...
Love it..." plug nickel" 😅
No c4bo
No way, I don't buy projects.
Nope! C4BO
🤣
I'm not buying it. I'm not even accepting it if free. I like things to work, be tight, not leak, and be straight.
Right ??
A definite bust for me. Moisture = no way . Does cruise America units have a cement pad mattress? Just asking 😮
Good one 😁 they must be buying them at a good price is the only thing I can say 😉
Definite bust for me! No way would I want that project!
Right??
Complete Bust
C4bo bust, to many water issues
C4BO bust
C4BO
Didnt make till lunch. Did not understand the point of this video. Who are these people? Are they buying this used rental?
