I'd love to hear the cop story sometime, what did they think about you?

😂 laughed way too hard, give you props for wearing all your gear! Always a good day when you can get out in period garb. My wife and I heard of your channel from I Love Muzzleloading, love your content! Keep up the good work

Another idea to help with walking in snowy and icy conditions in general (regardless of time period) if you’re using a staff or walking stick (or even a cane, as I do) as a walking aid (which I’m sure you found out after a little while of using the staff) is to, instead of just landing flat with the staff or walking stick and then stepping, push off with it as you move into the next stride of your step, much like skiers do with their poles when they move into their next stride.

Those soldiers at Ballet Forge wearing rags on their feet probably were just lounging around letting their shoes or moccs dry out
Foot wrappings were much more durable than socks or stockings

I'd suggest you try wrapping cordage around your moc twice and figure 8 it behind your ankle. It will provide much needed traction. I would have wound up in the drink many times without it! Far more comfortable than 18th century cramp ons.

Tie a wrap of strips of cloth around your mocs

I was certain you were going in! I have heard of some living history guys wearing something under their mocs to give them traction. You make a great point about wearing your kit! I enjoyed the video.

Good stuff! I enjoyed the information about staying warm. :)
I hope you’ll show us some of your process for creating things like the moccasins! Looking forward to it!
