thanks for watching everyone ! we appreciate everyone’s kind words and support so much. It’s been really difficult to put this film together due to our current circumstances! I’m (nicholette) not a morning person and it’s been especially hard during this time because I don’t feel good most mornings & brian has been amazingly supportive despite him also going through some things on his end as well. things are a little tough right now for both of us but we’re getting through it together, supporting one another & as always keeping it real 🫶🏼

I know this story I’m about to tell you is in no way the same as what you are going through! My thoughts and prayers are with you both! March the 30th of this year my sister was in a very bad car accident! She shattered her left hip and now she has a drop foot on that side! She also broke the lower bones in the right leg( tib-fib) and the outer side of her right ankle! She had 3 surgeries at the trauma center the went to a rehab center to learn to use her up body to move! The Tuesday before the 4th of July she started standing and walking with a walker and a walking boot on the right leg and an AFO on her left for her drop foot! Started going to outpatient rehab and was 2 days into her walking with her on shoe! Then she had a skin bubble to come up and was extremely hot! She went for a follow up and they said she had an infection in the lower right leg and put her on antibiotics for a week 4 times a day! She went back and they said let’s see you back in a week and see if it is still looking as good if not better then now! Well it didn’t it actually went back and worse they we was praying for! That was on a Wednesday! On Thursday she was at the trauma center for surgery they debriefed it all the way down to the rods and the ankle hardware! She was in the hospital for 4 days and has a pick line for antibiotics 24/7 and is taking 2 anti fungal medication by mouth! We have to clean the incision site daily and take pictures to send to the trauma team daily! She goes back Wednesday we are praying she can have the stickers removed and that the new tissue and skin is growing back with out any further issues or germs! She will have to start all over with PT to get back where she was! Also she is not allowed to put any pressure on it at all! It has been a lot of work for me and doing things with my niece her daughter that she can’t! That hurts her more than a lot of people think! But she is my only sister and we do for each other as much as we can! Anyway Nicholette and Brian I am and have been praying for you both! It has been hurt for you both I’m sure and remember there is brighter days ahead for you both! ❤ and Hugs from your friend in Southwest Virginia

If I keep watching the two of you, I might end up starting my own TH-cam channel. Lol I can't tell you how relatable you are to myself and my husband. I will spare you the details for right now, but I wanted to let you know how truly inspirational you are to me. I am blessed beyond belief to have stumbled across your channel last year. You've gotten me through a lot of things with your positive attitude. Never give up! ❤

    You are doing the stuff.
I put an overnight catheter in my daughter over many years...hooked her up to her TPN until she was old enough to do it herself...she just had major surgery on her small intestine in March--all you are saying...has been my daughter's world for over twenty years.
I had a double mastectomy two years ago...drains, stitches, etc.
Praying that one stitch is not a problem...
    11 days wound care...drain...lots happening...
    You two stay tough...
Thank you for updating. Been praying and thinking of you...
    Precious woman.

I think it's the root of so much trouble in the world. Anyway... I'm not a big church person or anything but, I do pray and, I'm definitely praying for you guys. Stay strong Brian and rest and heal Nicholette!!!

I am so glad that you discovered the secret. You can only make it by working together the way you do. Our marriage has survived 57 yrs and counting. 57 years of incredible challenges: Good times and bad, certainly in sickness and in health. Joy every day? Of course not! But we seek eternal joy we simply can't see from the limited perspective of mortality. You don't just say it but you live it, "Eyes on the prize!" God bless you for setting the example. 💕

We should cherish the mundane things, you're spot on with your humble insight. Thankyou for shedding some prospective on it. Cheers from Australia 🇦🇺 👍.

I don't know if you'll see this, but I've used steri-strips (little butterfly bandages) on popped stitches or sometimes on small injuries instead of stitches before; they hold the wound closed, stay on through all kinds of conditions (on my fingers while doing dishes, etc.) and work well. however, of course do whatever your doctor tells you to do! hang in there!
my body hates antibiotics; I know how lousy I feel even just taking one kind. I can only imagine how hard it is to take four! I have a disability that keeps me in bed for extended periods of time, too, and worry about potential pressure sores. as I'm still able to walk (but with a huge risk of falling), I'm trying to get up a bit more with my cane and get around. hearing about your flap surgery (my mother had one also; the sand bed was actually very hard for her and I'm so glad it's helping you) has helped motivate me to find more mobility tools and do what I can while I still can. thinking of you and hoping for the most complete healing possible, and as quickly as your body can manage it. thank you for sharing with us.

    Hi Guys
As you both know im a quadriplegic and understand how challenging these past 25 days have been for you. I'm so incredibly proud of you for flushing those pain medications down the toilet and that took such courage.
You are both so amazing and fantastically uplifting that it beams through to us with all the brilliant and brave content that you make and bless us all with for which I Thank You from the bottom of my heart, I love you guys so much.
I'm currently bed-bound as well as my electric-wheelchair has broke after 8yrs of being my dedicated and loyal companion.
Your shorts and videos have and do continue to help me each day to keep pushing and look forward to sunnier brighter days no matter the current challenge being faced and for that I'm so incredibly thankful that I have you both in my daily life albeit through TH-cam.
Keep pushing, keep smiling and never stop being the amazing beautiful people that you are and never let the world tell you otherwise.
Sending all my love hugs and prayers from the UK 🇬🇧 God bless you both

Holy moly, 25 days and counting! You're doing great! Medicine is a pain to take anytime, especially when it makes you feel crummy. If you can eat with them, it might help. There are some tough antibiotics out there.
Tv shows, board games like Yahtzee or (there's a new camel game that everyone loves), might help pass the time. Call friends and family to chat. Wishing you the best, you described your healing perfectly by saying it's unique! Yep, that's a good way of putting it. Good luck tomorrow at Dr appt. Hugs!!

Thank you for sharing! Wishing you rapid healing! I have gastroparesis, Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and autoimmune conditions so I have a permanent feeding tube and currently have a tunneled central line. I can usually hide my feeding tube but most of the time you can see my central line. I'm more comfortable than I used to but I definitely still notice people staring at my tubing and where the line comes out my chest.
I hear you on the Foley! Peeing on your own or straight cath is so much more comfortable

I felt so much listening to you. We’re all so proud of you ,too! 💐Thanks for the peptalk about gratitude because everything you said is true. It’s amazing to think of what our body does for us that we don’t think about like digesting our food, or other things that some people can’t take for granted . It also hurts to be in this vessel sometimes or it’s very awkward . I really appreciate you touching up on shame . I have felt ashamed lately thinking I’ll never be able to date because of my disabilities. But that mindset only erodes my well being so no matter what, I’m focussed on being in the best physical shape I can as a picture in the future by taking one day at a time too. There’s always things I can be grateful for. Thank you for your graciousness , wisdom and straight talk.
I’m still here through perseverance, Strength , Goals, miracles and amazing surgeons (I hated being on acute care full spectrum antibiotics and bed for six weeks, too). It reminded me of that time and how grateful I was just to be alive and that’s what got me through plus crafts.
Good for you, Nicolette for your message of advocacy.
On a sidenote, you’re one of the healthiest couples I’ve ever seen or heard: the way you interact, and both look after each other, and yourselves to the best of your ability, not letting anything change your mindset nor your plans for long at all. P.S Nicolette, I hear you say, you don’t feel good at all most of the day and night. However, you feel like you deserve to feel of course and yet Nicolette, I don’t know how you do it but you still look gorgeous! Nothing touches your beauty inside or out. Prayers and best wishes always for you both. 🧚🏽‍♀️ 🙏🏼✨❤
