This is one of my favs from the first album- I see it as sort of a precursor to Tear in My Heart from Blurryface - in that song he talks about how his wife has the ability to basically crush him bc she has access to his heart In Air Catcher he hadn't met Jenna yet but he talks about a person who has that ability to make him fall in love and not fall slowly into it - they've taken his ability to be cautious with letting people get close - and at the end he says he's given this person the words and the ability to destroy his heart Obviously lots of interpretations for their music but that's how I take it!
I've always seen this one as him kinda wanting to resist falling in love because it makes him feel vulnerable or not in control..but he ultimately sort of gives into the process 🤔 But I remember the first time I heard this one I had a totally different read on it. I love that there can be so many different interpretations. The benefit of poetic lyrics😁 This is one of my faves off this album
Do The Hype - then in the same reaction switch to The Hype (Berlin Session) - each song has its own video but the second one is him remaking the original song at a studio in Berlin before they play Lollapalooza Berlin
I think this song is about how it's getting hard to resist lust. He used to be able to resist, but now he can't. He has a problem with falling in love more than once which is a sin. Jesus said that if you look at a person of the opposite gender with lust, you've committed adulturey. Who he should have loyalty for, he has problems staying faithful, and he's having problems staying faithful because of his feelings. He does try to resist out of discipline, and he writes down his feelings to help him resist lust, but that can be a tool lust uses to keep him trapped. Honestly, as a young Christian man, I hate to say this, but lust is something I struggle with. I'm disciplining myself with excercise, reading, and praying to strengthen my discipline, but it's hard.
Love your twenty one pilots reactions and also love the way you're talking about God. Very inspirational, helps me a lot. Have a nice day! 😊

The vocal harmonies at the end are Chris Salih - former bassist :)

Love this and I definitely missed that part haha. Thanks again for being the guy bringing the info I truly appreciate it. God bless!
I like your interpretation. I was thinking this could be an explanation to falling straight down, and not falling in love with falling.
Original video is in the description. God Bless!

One that I feel has a really deep religious meaning is Addicted with a Pen. Maybe check it out sometime. ❤️
