Replay and super valuable. I bought a big Schroth book, but it is so much easier hearing it explained and demonstrated the way you do. Thanks so much!!!
Thank you Kati for your wonderful videos. My name is Christiane, I am from Germany and I did the Schroth education last April. I enjoy your exercises very much. It is a nice review and you have wonderful ideas to treat patients with skolioses. Best wishes from Stuttgart Christiane 😊

oh my gosh this has helped me so much, my scoliosis has gotten so bad it has started to effect the discs in my neck and caused instability in my c4-c5, my question is if i have a shorter left leg that is making my pelvis drop on the left side should i wear a lift in that shoe to help correct the left side pelvic tilt? I have the same curve as this video.
@@clinescot1 I would have to assess your specific curve to answer that for you. I’d be happy to chat more if you’d like to book a call with me! link.srvcsndr.com/widget/bookings/schrothptkatieblanchard9dtstb
With this curve pattern, does it make sense to lie on the right side and prop the convexity to straighten the spine? To sum up, can we lie on both sides while propping the convexities on each side respectively?
Hi Kate. .you are a wonderful teacher! Well done! ..thank you very much! Most of my pain derives from the hyperlumbar lordosis associated with this S shaped scoliosis....do you have any suggestions or a video I could watch? Once again thank you for an excellent instructional video.
You’re very welcome!!! When it comes to pain with scoliosis i always start with the basics. Learn schroth breathing for expansion and also elongation of the spine. Hope that helps!
I just found you on TH-cam. I am an adult with a R thoracic/L lumbar curve. I assume these exercises will help relieve discomfort and hopefully prevent further alignment issues at this point?
I have the exact curve but my therapist is making me lie on the right side and she puts two cushions under my right shoulder to push the thoracic curve up and another cushion under the hip (i guess because the gravity pulls the lumbar curve way too much). Is this wrong ?? Please answer when you see
hi ma'am , i am 23 yrs old, and i am diagnosed to have mild scoliosis on right thoracic? how can i apply your method?? pls i need to cure this back in you normal excersise
Good question. The curve in the c-spine is called a d-modifier. You would want to make sure you keep an eye on your left arm positioning to make sure you’re not moving the shoulder block upward and making that cervical curve worse. Not any difference for this side lying exercise though. Hope that helps!
Please answer me when u see this! i have lumbar curved to the left scoliosis and uneven hips. The right hip is higher and the left hip is lower. 16degree. could it help it straighten the spine doing these exercises? please let me know!
Hey there! The goal is to stop the progression of the curve from getting worse. Adult scoliosis is structural and your spine is rigid. So we can’t guarantee any improvement.
@@schrothboss is it possible though? with exercising, Pilates that it could reduce the degree of the curve. Because i have seen and heard that it could reduce the degree of the curve. let me know please!
Lay in the right side. In general always lay on the side of the lumbar curve and support it with bean bags. Then gravity will help along the thoracic curve. I hope that helps!
yes! You can perform these as an adult, however since the adult spine is less flexible you won't necessarily see reduction in scoliosis curve degree. But these exercises can be used to improve posture, symmetry, and stop scoliosis from getting worse.
I have a c shape thoracolumbar left convex, and a small lumbar curve to the right. Side lying on the left with pads under my convexity. Does that sound right? That’s what my Schroth PT has me doing.
Im not positive this is the curve of my scoliosis, however I do know its an S curve convexed to the left in the lumbar region. How likely is it that I could have negative reactions to these exercises?

Any advice for adults with late onset scoliosis? It started three years ago when I was 64. I can’t find anything that offers improvement. Thank you!
Try schroth! However, the goal it to stop the progression of scoliosis from getting worse not necessarily curve improvement.

"Lie," not "lay." We LIE down. We LIE on our left side.
