Love it . I'm sick of the horsepower wars. Bring back beautiful, minimalist, light weight, small, manual cars where you don't need to be going over 100 to have fun. Magnus reminds me of a pirate.
Sefton Hanley One of the many! haha My buddy is waiting for the day he can get his hands on an old Austin Healey Mini. I cant wait to see his 6ft 4in frame get in and out of that! lol Cheers! ^^
This guy is keeping the car culture alive. Not many guys can do this apart from the likes of Nakai San and people like that. Not enough people who do this at all. Simple, small race cars. Not ridiculous horse power builds that require a moving garage!
This guy is awesome, and knows a LOT about his cars. He's a real enthusiast. Doesn't just collect because the cars look pretty. He appreciates them fully inside and out.
***** In your opinion, it is. Pray tell, to prove that this isn't bait written by an 8 year old, what do you see as the epitaph of style in terms of cars?
Jay - I'd really like to thank you and the production crew on your videos for not adding additional music to the videos. I'm really really happy that I can actually hear the cars' motors and not some music drowning out the music that comes from the motors of the vehicles you showcase. Brilliant work, and I love this episode. Keep up the great work!
YES!!! Thank you Jay for saying that... the "disconnect". Happily sold my 2012 Challenger, and now drive my '65 Mustang more than ever. So visceral and engaging, it makes me smile every time.
I have a HUGE amount of respect for this guy. His idea of making a race car that in completely streetable is exactly what my dad and i do with our mustangs. Right down to the stuff he shows up to the track with, spare tire, tool box, lawn chair, helmet and shoes. thats all you need, you get the enjoyment of driving the race car to the track, which is always fun as well watching everybody turn their heads as you drive by. I'd love to meet this guy.
I'm just amazed at the number of people who see a guy in a video with long hair and want to complain about it in some way. Magnus Walker can have his hair as he wants it. Thank goodness we aren't all the same.
not even gonna lie, I found out about Magnus from the new Need for Speed, but where someone seeing this would think oh that's cool only from the few trailers they've released, I delved deep into finding out about these guys. the more I find out about Magnus, or Akira Nakai, or Shinichi Morohoshi or Risky Devil, the more I appreciate it. like these individual people and groups of people that Need for Speed brought in are a gateway to a bigger world of automotives, though a smaller, select section, it still launches a pretty good movement
Why all the hate? Social media is full of this nation of haters. It is just sad and pathetic. This man is successful and has the right to not shave. Why is it that in the western culture people hate on beards and long hair? At one time the beard was looked on and respected. Today it is the total opposite
I agree....and who cares about how he looks? He knows his stuff, this is a CAR show. If you care about how he looks then you must not be a car guy. The same type of people that complain about how Jay Leno wears the same outfit everyday.
This guy is ridiculous. The defining mantra of satanism is "Nothing is true, everything is permitted." That's not a joke, that's reality. Everyone who supports this guy's "lifestyle" choices is either a fool or eager to enslave the less insightful. If you decide to place a turd across your lip and define it as a "lifestyle" choice how is it less acceptable for me to reject that as my own "lifestyle" choice. I'm sure he knows his 911s but I'm not going to hang around someone with a communicable disease no matter how accomplished their external endeavors are. And if you think mental illness is not communicable then you are not clear what the concept of a mental illness is.
thatdevilguy how sad has your life been? Even if your just joking or trolling . For this statement to just pop in your mind , and then for you to decide to say. Is a pretty good look into what kind of person you are. And it's not a look into anything positive or pleasant. Why would you want thousands of people to know how shirty your life must be to think the way that you do. If I were you I would hide as much about yourself as possible.
Wow, Jay Leno has finally met his match. I never seen anyone come anywhere near his knowledge and character like Magnus Walker. These two would be two insane car show hosts.
I understand your opinion but there's something about watching Jay's reviews that makes you feel like you're there with him in his garage. It's nice and relaxing and I hope they keep all the music and slick production out as it distracts me from what I wanna hear and see.
I had a 1965 912, paid $500 for it in 1977. Rusted with cracked, faded leather seats but for an 18 year old speed freak it was awesome. Rebuilt the motor in my parents sandy driveway on cape cod. Drove the wheels off it for two years, including trips to Watkins Glen for the Grand Prix and World sports car championships. Traded it for an electric guitar to join a punk band in Boston while I was trying to get a philosophy degree.
If he likes listening to music than it's an important part of the car. That doesn't mean he can't attempt to offset the added weight by removing some from other parts of the car. With that kind of thought process, if you were trying to make a car lighter, would you just remove every single item and creature comfort that isn't specifically needed for the vehicle to function. So I guess you think padding in the seats is unnecessary. They should just be hard plastic.
that was just a joke, no one care what he looks like it is his life but no doubt he does look like a homeless person which is just a fact of matter nothing else.....
simple, the secession was an act of treason. go pro-USA or gtfo no room here for cheering for or celebrating our enemies nor their "cause" they (CSA included) were/are USA enemies, pure & simple Your "why not" implies you're confused about whose side you're on. Using USA's 1st Amend to support anti-USA speech/symbols, is anti-USA in deed, though legal. If you follow by asking me "why not" be against USA I'll just smh and spare my time.
Mr. Leno as nice and sympathetic as ever, but Mr. Walker is spoiling the whole video. I don't care about how he looks, what bothers me is that he takes credit for other people's design and work. Most of what he refers to as "his design" on the exterior were standard features on the 911R. He might be good with cars, but stealing the laurels from others sure doesn't make him nice.
He never implied that he invented all the things that he does to his cars...he said "my signature touches", not my design...you need to pay better attention to what he is saying before you come to conclusions that the man is a liar.
NotoriousYeshi Sorry, but if he had been an honest guy, he would have credited the originators and not himself. Each is entitled to his own opinion, but in my book Mr. Walker is a liar and a fraud, living on an absolutely empty hype and the exploitation of others.
An artist with his love and passion to cars and that is unique. I wouldn't mind owning something like this that sets apart from all of the other Porsche's out there on the street. Though I don't like Porsche but this is no exception.
Jay Props for having all tease under Ground Builders on your show. I have seen a few of Magnus cars on books and mags . He is my kind of builder. Every detail is thought out. Nothing is put in the car that dose not make it go fast stop fast or handle good. I love the old air cooled 911s. The sound of that flat 6 is just music to my ears.
All this hate in comment section just screams jealousy. Don't judge this wonderful man by his looks just because you are jealous of what he has achieved. Respect and love to Magnus
I had a 1992 968 that I lovingly called the Ghetto Porsche and this video makes me miss it. It's just like Jay said: Everything had this direct, connected feel that most of today's cars seem to lack. It felt like driving an old Jeep that was 5" off the ground!
Jay is right on when it comes to how modern cars feel. I have driven SRT8s through the downtown area of where i live, fish-tailing and going flat out through narrow and cracked streets adorned by adobe buildings likely older than my state's membership in the Union . While fun without a doubt, there was a certain romance which was missing.
In 2017 and I personally still love Magnus walkers cars. They are a proper throwback to what customizing is all about . Making a vehicle your own way and why the hell does he get hate on the way he looks? I have a friend who has the same type of beard and same type of hair and is the first one to help if you get hurt. Car community is an escape of daily life and is to support others creations. If I saw a civic with bad camber I may hate the car but I would still respect the driver because that's there choice in what they chose to do. Don't hate on a mans look without looking at the beauty he's created. A throwback styling with his own mix
That video was badass, thanks for sharing. Love that Magnus is such a passionate car guy, through and through. He's a testament that that you don't grow out of street racing no matter what age. Gave props too to the Civic when he passed by. Like that he's not a hater like typical younger street racers. He'd be a badass guy to go driving with.
Haha, Magnus acted like a cohost more than a guest. Love the car and the sound is beyond words; like Goldie Locks and the 3 bears, it's not excessive but just right.
Love it . I'm sick of the horsepower wars. Bring back beautiful, minimalist, light weight, small, manual cars where you don't need to be going over 100 to have fun. Magnus reminds me of a pirate.
scanspeak00 You mean like a new MX5 / Miata ?
Sefton Hanley One of the many! haha My buddy is waiting for the day he can get his hands on an old Austin Healey Mini. I cant wait to see his 6ft 4in frame get in and out of that! lol Cheers! ^^
Sefton Hanley Yeah, except a coupe :)
BMW M2 on the way!
sick of horsepower wars b/c you're not man enough!
This guy is keeping the car culture alive. Not many guys can do this apart from the likes of Nakai San and people like that. Not enough people who do this at all. Simple, small race cars. Not ridiculous horse power builds that require a moving garage!
+Matthew Law and before anyone starts, I already knew these two guys before need for speed hahahaha
+Matthew Law and before anyone starts, I already knew these two guys before need for speed hahahaha
Dude, there are plenty of guys that keeping car culture fresh.
He hasn't "built" anything tho...
This guy is awesome, and knows a LOT about his cars. He's a real enthusiast. Doesn't just collect because the cars look pretty. He appreciates them fully inside and out.
Magnus is a class act! Met him at sema and he took time and talked to everyone that waited to talk to him. Super cool guy
Now all we need is for him to do an interview with Nakai-San and an RWB Porsche.
+Porsche Did 9/11 yeah....
not sure he speaks english
+Morgan Freeman he doesn't
+Nick's Gay Friend (Jacob Jones) RWB is ricer garbage.

Magnus the legend.
I see you every where
YES!!! Thank you Jay for saying that... the "disconnect".
Happily sold my 2012 Challenger, and now drive my '65 Mustang more than ever.
So visceral and engaging, it makes me smile every time.
This is Magnus
Magnus follows his dreams
Magnus is happy
Be like Magnus

Jay Leno youve made the best show to watch...finally a cool car tv show..
Love how Jay puts cars, people and stories that nobody else in mainstream cares about.
I'm just amazed at the number of people who see a guy in a video with long hair and want to complain about it in some way.
Magnus Walker can have his hair as he wants it.
Thank goodness we aren't all the same.
Haha, ok, what about that confederate flag on his racing helmet?
@@Arto343434 ever seen dukes of hazard? General lee
On top of being a walking talking Porsche encyclopedia, I LOVE the personal touches Magnus puts on his cars. Great stuff!
not even gonna lie, I found out about Magnus from the new Need for Speed, but where someone seeing this would think oh that's cool only from the few trailers they've released, I delved deep into finding out about these guys. the more I find out about Magnus, or Akira Nakai, or Shinichi Morohoshi or Risky Devil, the more I appreciate it. like these individual people and groups of people that Need for Speed brought in are a gateway to a bigger world of automotives, though a smaller, select section, it still launches a pretty good movement
Same here bro. I've been studying them like crazy. Ken Block is my favorite. And oh who could ever forget about the legendary Nakai San! #needforspeed
Artisan is the word for it. Obviously a perfectionest and master of Porsche restorations. Jay knows how to pick great motorheads for interviews.
Why all the hate? Social media is full of this nation of haters. It is just sad and pathetic. This man is successful and has the right to not shave. Why is it that in the western culture people hate on beards and long hair? At one time the beard was looked on and respected. Today it is the total opposite
people just hate everything there not happy in there own lifes and want to make eveyone else hate as well

Germanicus Fortunov He should be getting therapy because he has long hair?
Are you sure you are not the one with mental illness?

Wow. Magnus has such a gentle yet fierce spirit of a demeanor. What an awesome dude.
magnus walker is like an angel
Wow, Jay Leno has finally met his match. I never seen anyone come anywhere near his knowledge and character like Magnus Walker. These two would be two insane car show hosts.
"you get to use all the power all the time!"
that sounds like my first car with 60hp.
Just started watching this episode then paused and watched Urban Outlaw - came back and finished off your show which I absolutely love, thanks Jay!
So are you saying it's a streetable race car?
I think he said it's a streetable race car but I'm not sure...
I'd actually seen that documentary, and I almost passed up this video until I saw the description snippet. I love that guy!
I had it muted at first and thought Rob Zombie had a sick Porsche.
Thanks goofy
Magnus always makes me smile. He has a passion that's infectious and is great at what he does.
This dude makes me proud to be british. Beautiful, absolute work of art
I understand your opinion but there's something about watching Jay's reviews that makes you feel like you're there with him in his garage. It's nice and relaxing and I hope they keep all the music and slick production out as it distracts me from what I wanna hear and see.
Did anybody else just die laughing when Magnus first walked in and stood totally sideways to the camera?
I thought he was cousin it
Love that guy Magnus....coolness personified.
That car sounds amazing. 200 smiles per gallon at least!
My first Porsche was a 72 911T. So much fun to drive. Incredible gearbox.
Im suprised that he hasnt done an rwb interview the stella would be cool
Nakai San cant speak english
absolutely brilliant and thanks to magnus walker to bring beautiful cars back and that is most important 👍
Lots of haters. I bet most of them have bald heads, living a nine to five job that they hate and has no recognizable achievement.
Exactly
Juice got et, mang!
U just smoked em all

Lols, I thought Magnus Walker was/is a fictional character from Need For Speed! =D
This guy is for real.
Simple, clean and functional.
Keep it up.
Luv magnus.. cool guy...great 911...
That RSR that he is restoring in this video is gorgeous. Amazing cars. I love these retro Porsches more so then any of the modern ones.
smiles per gallon :)
jaw drop @ the moment the camera walked through his pad and garage. SO MUCH CLASS
CSA flag on the racer helmet! #TRIGGERED
That thing is gorgeous and so are all of his other early porsches!
Drills out pedals for "lightness", leaves stereo system.
*streetable* racecar
drilling pedals doesn't make it any less streetable
Some people run 3 miles a day so they can eat ice cream, what's the big mystery?
If he likes listening to music than it's an important part of the car. That doesn't mean he can't attempt to offset the added weight by removing some from other parts of the car. Anne Kromhout a car without a stereo is a lifeless car. except if you have a performance car, just listen to the engine all day!
He was making a joke. Jay got it and thats why he came back with his own joke about the stereo.
Magnus is truly a humble guy. Kuddos to you.
i feel dirty just watching this video - time for a bath.
sean octane Magnus owns 10+ custom Porsche 911's, I bet you struggle to even meet someone legendary like him.
You feel? You are simply are in your mind losee
Man there's just something about old school 911s that is simply brilliant.
Terrible camera! Do we really have to wait until 2:50 so we can see the guy's FACE?!
Fire somebody please.
Here you go mate: 12:01 - There's more of the guy's face than you could ever dream of
Pastafarian
lololol
Magnus is the man :D He knows what real cars are about
Definitely gonna watch that documentary !!!
3 Porsche 3
Pretty sure Jay was holding his breath standing next to him.
I've never really been one for Porsches but I respect this guy alot
Jay leno giving charity to the homeless.
that was just a joke, no one care what he looks like it is his life but no doubt he does look like a homeless person which is just a fact of matter nothing else.....
I could listen that guy talk about Porsche all day, Dude knows his shit!
~9:22 Helmet topped with Confederate Battle Flag.

stop crying......
***** I'm not crying. I just think Mr. Walker is a pathetic liar. :-)
And he bloody sounds like Eric Clapton! Now, that is just not on.

oh god. that dude has got perfect home for him and his cars. such a cool place.
Had a 72T with a 2.4. Thing was a blast to drive, even better than my 78 SC with a 3.0 !!!!!
An artist with his love and passion to cars and that is unique. I wouldn't mind owning something like this that sets apart from all of the other Porsche's out there on the street. Though I don't like Porsche but this is no exception.

Thank God for free thinkers like Magnus...and Jay.

i cannot wait for the other Porsches! So fascinating machines, and what a cool guy magnus walker is!
My all time favorite Porsche.
Beautiful, this is how i like to see porsches done. I love the early 70s cars
That video was badass, thanks for sharing. Love that Magnus is such a passionate car guy, through and through. He's a testament that that you don't grow out of street racing no matter what age. Jay and Magnus together and old Porsches, does it get any better.....oh yet it will once i have my own 911....cheers
Man, this guy is cool!!! It's good to see people who love and appreciate old 911s.
I love this show everything from over the top mega bucks cars to this a real world real working mans race car. Well done Jay keep em coming.
Magnus' porsches are just GORGEOUS!
I wish I could work for either of these guys they both love cars and keeping them going down the road. Love what you do Jay, never stop!
I love this urban outlaw we need more car dudes like this
Jay is such a true car guy...thanks for giving me all these great and informative shows. Thanks Jay ...Sincerely Tony
Nice to see Magnus all cleaned up for the show.
Simple, Balanced, mechanical, Reliable, Easy to work-on, Timeless! I want one!, Too late now everybody wants one!
My God his garage is cleaner than a heart surgeon tool kit, and the cars are just mind blowing!!!
Best episode yet imo, I would love to have Magnus Walker as a friend.
thumbs up for Jay and using a "proper" manual gear box. Coulden t agree more with what Jay is saying regarding the disconnect you get in new cars.
WOW. What an episode! I really underestimated how badass this guy is! I was amazed at his garage, what a guy.
He sounded like a good guy to have a beer with. Just a good guy. Nice work on the cars
would never expect his shop to be that nice. damn, that's nice
One of the best classic Porsche garages i've seen, wow!
The only thing I would change is add a radio for the long rides home from tracks and add new matching Momo seats. Such nice car👍🏻
Not your typical Porsche builder. Wonderfull cars.
In the highly unlikely event that you see this jay thanks for interviewing this guy
Veeeeery cooool design and, of course, sound.
And his workshop is also very cool.
Saw this Guy in heavy hitters magazine. Knew I recognized the Porsche from somewhere. Great show Jay.
Thanks Magnus and Jay!
I want an old one more than I want a new one! Got to drive a killer '77 911 last year and haven't shook the feel of that car.
Darwin’s missing link is a car building animal! I’m going to be checking out some more of his toys!
Fantastic vid where its brings us to the good old days and enjoy the "real cars".
I'm not a 911 fan, but I would drive his cars. Quality work.
