'Head to Higher Ground' is the sequel to Jeremiah Gilmer's debut album 'Early Bird' released in 2017. This album features Jeremiah on all of the instruments an vocals. It has a mix of contemporary bluegrass and traditional-inspired numbers. Ten original tunes fill the album along with one cover of the 1960's country tune "Smoky Mountain Memories". Fast paced, tasteful, and hard-driving bluegrass.

The Tugboats are a couple of young pickers from Virginia: Denver Smith and Jeremiah Gilmer have been playing music together since 2016. After playing with a youth band based out of central Virginia, they decided to create their own brand to release their energetic music under, often accompanied by talented friends in the bluegrass community.
The two musicians have been recognized at the state level for their musical abilities, and hope to continue to make music together for the years to come.
