Is the Ferrari F8 Spider a convertible without compromise? Taking the roof off a car sounds great, in principle. You get the wind in your hair, that Ferrari soundtrack in your ears, the sun on your forehead, what more could you want? Well, as it turns out, there’s always been pitfalls with convertibles. Structural rigidity and weight tend to suffer hugely. But surely we’ve got to the point where it must be possible to have all the benefits and none of the downsides, right? James Dennison is here to find out.

I rented a 488 for half a day in Italy a couple of years ago, and “like you have a hand on each wheel” is exactly what it felt like. That sense of connection and control remains most vivid in my memory, even more than the insane engine power.
I absolutely love the F8!!
Some cars can carry yellow well, this is one of them! Tell the cameraman he can earn overtime.

New supercars are so insane these days! It does everything. Just throw a nice exhaust on it and drive it for years.

The F8 is the best evolution of this series lineup. I still worry about anything that’s direct injected, but in terms of last hurrah before Ferrari redoes the entire architecture, I think it’s getting a fantastic send off.

I’m sure it’s fantastic.... still reminiscent of a corvette from the rear though

You’re right, it’s usually used as a positive. But in this case we’ve used some creative licence with words 😉😉

In yellow as a Spyder just looks mega, blows coupe away in looks, not a CAB man either

Someone please to me why everyone’s want to call every exotic car a super car. What makes the F8 a super car.
Just look at it
Yellow is actually the colour of Ferrari.... Rosso Corsa is the colour of Italy.
This new Ferrari design looks like a knock-off..it seems that most car manufacturers are losing their way in terms of design.
This car isn’t really new and was basically just another refresh on an aging car (458/488/F8/Pista) can only style a mid engined car so much, it’s shape is limited to what you can do by aerodynamics/downforce/cooling etc and that’s why we rarely see breakthrough or game changing designs although I’d argue that the 720S was a very original and unique design that didn’t look like other mid engined cars

This is the fault of Euro 6, if you put a direct exhaust the car will have an incredible sound!

I'd rather have a 720S. New -V8 - Ferrari's are as exciting as a vacuum cleaner, and sound exactly like one 😂
Every new Mclaren is 6 times boring than new Ferraris. Not to mention that they are ugly(except maybe 720 or 570 GT ).
