The statement “secret” implies that most people don’t know it. So just like my dad when he said he would be back, you lied! In all seriousness, love the vids!
Nebraska use to have “mushroom gardens” below the east stands. It was a dark and damp kidney bean shaped indoor track that the football team track team and baseball team occasionally used to practice in the winter. It had low ceilings so pole vaulters often came close to hitting the ceiling. It was closed down sometime around 2000 when they opened a purpose built indoor track facility.
Well that was removed in 1947 when they realized it was unshielded and running it any higher than 1/2 watt would probably kill everyone (they did get it to 200 watts… once. 😳)
What's even better is where they buried the remnants of that reactor. It's a nature preserve/park and you can walk right up to the commemorative slab they have in place saying what's there. And there's actually two place, Site A and Plot M, which are a couple minutes walk from each other. The marker for Plot M says very empathically "do not dig here".
I worked as a security guard at Wake Forest's football stadium (it keeps changing names). I worked the locker room for a whole season one year. Been in every part of that stadium, from the bowels to the penthouse. I can tell y'all, probably with no surprise, that there are no secret or interesting things at that stadium, lol.
Friend of mine that went to UT told me about the remains storage in Knoxville...before it came up in The Blind Side. Yeah, it was part of the anthropology department, but I hear they have a pretty good forensics program at UT, as well. Makes sense.
Coach Hayden Fry had a college degree in psychology. He was hired and inherited a dumpster fire of a program that was ruined by the Athletic Director that wanted to make sure that no coach would ever bring more wins to the team than what he did as a coach. Coach Fry decided to completely overhaul the mindset of the program and make them think like winners, train like winners, and ultimately become winners. He obtained permission from the Steelers to model our uniforms after theirs. Since the Steelers were the best team in the NFL at the time, the goal was to make the team look like winners and, thus, feel more like winners. The pink locker rooms were not to unnerve the team, but to calm them, make them less aggressive. Apparently, warm pink colors have that kind of psychological effect on people. If it didn't/does work, then I don't think Jim Harbaugh would have used a whole day of preparation to cover every inch of pink in the locker rooms with pro-Michigan propaganda, only to have his #2 ranked team lose to a 4 or 5 loss Iowa team.
Exactly this. And I have always said that Hayden Fry is my favorite non-OSU coach of all time. In addition to his psychological prowess, he was a brilliant football strategist, a hell of a motivator, and the all time greatest when it came to one-liners. I feel lucky to have been an OSU fan at during an era when those Hayden Fry Iowa teams were on the schedule every year. He was always entertaining and his teams were no pushover.
The pink may be Baker Miller pink (#FF91AF/255, 145, 175). It is thought to be calming, soothing, relaxing... Precisely the wrong thing when one is trying to hype up, pump up their players. 😉
As a ducks fan, I love all the historical Nike things you can find around U of O’s campus, including this cool promo room where ducks take photos, that houses Jordan PE’s and old posters. Go ducks!!!
Camp Randall also has their visitors locker room painted a special color but it isn't pink. They worked Wisconsin Department of Corrections who found a certain shade of blue is more calming so it is used in the prisons as well as the visitors locker room.
I thought Iowa’s visiting locker room was pink because the coach was a psychologist and felt it would help relax and chill out the opposing team while Iowa got lit haha
To be honest the mirror lab at Arizona isn't really a secret. There's a giant sign on it that says MIRROR LAB. But I get it. Also, the stadium had dorms on the South side as well, and I'm pretty sure they're still in use.
Its not inside the stadium, but under the Mississippi State library, there is a place called the dragon room that only people who go to MSU really know about.

that is so cool
Nothing can top the actual NUCLEAR REACTOR under the stands of Stagg Field at the University of Chicago.

I’ll take your word for it LOL

You're a beast for posting this. Go hawks 🖤💛
@@GarrettsGearGo Hawks!
Yep and Bo Schembechler would cover the locker room in butcher paper. Probably not a big deal anymore as it was 30+ years ago

Memorial Stadium at Illinois has a graveyard with Illini George Huff, Bob Zupke, and Lou Henson buried there. Ohio State Horse Shoe also has dorms.
The your mom and Groper Cleveland jokes are reason enough to subscribe. The rest is all just a bonus really.
There’s a secret are in the horseshoe in Columbus at the 50 yard line where opposing schools plant their flags
Even though college football is nowhere near the same as it was years ago, some of these stadiums I will try and visit
Good choice to sub to your channel. You make great content!
thanks! I appreciate it.
Love this stuff bro, keep it up!

New Mexico wouldn't have a meth lab under their stadium. They would have a whole nuclear research lab (//Manhattan Project joke)
Pitt Stadium used to have its basketball arena inside
Camp Randall is called that because it was actually a military camp for Union soldiers in the Civil War.
Camp Randall also had dorms for WWII and the visitors locker room is painted the same blue as Wisconsin prisons.
Kelly really tries to be john mckay with 10% of the charisma
A place to store bones is an Ossuary, but it’s weird because the word works for a room full of bones, or just a box with one bone in it.
Or a box with a lot of different bones in it….like your mom. 😂
ROASTED
8:58 Arizona stadium is also home to Navajo-Pinal hall, which are dorms built into the infrastructure of the stadium
8:18 bizarre reach for a bad joke

Every time you make a mom joke, I don't think I'm going to laugh. But, I do.
I wish UNM had a meth lab hidden in the stadium. At least then we could say we put out a quality product for the fans to enjoy😂
I thought Iowa’s visiting locker room was pink because the coach was a psychologist and felt it would help relax and chill out the opposing team while Iowa got lit haha
i used to watch this mtv show called, undressed, which took place in a college dorm within a stadium. wondersful times
not big into college football yet, but I did enjoy this video. Thanks for asking! 👍
Glad you liked it!
@FivePointsVids, there's a school with a carpet basketball court. Might need to do another weird field/courts video
lol I saw that!!!
Please do a part 2 of this.
The coolest thing in this great video was Georgia Tech's stadium under a stadium. I also think it would awesome to live in a stadium.

There should be a "your mom" joke counter going forward.
Ya know, all those "your mom" jokes are true about my sons' mother.
2 for 3 on that parlay. Story of my life.
The rain sold me.
You know someone's going to comment about YOU MOM! 😉 And those "Dad" Jokes, oh my! Still unique nooks and Crannies!
Boy That was a close shave! 🪒 😂
Wonder if penn state is in this video
Oh you know it. They got more then one hidden spot.
They weren’t 🤷♂️
My highschool football field has a graveyard next to it
You didn't mention the lab where Goat Boy was created
Auburn University has a house in the stadium for Aubie
They moved a cemetery by where i grew up for a Kroger, they can't move this for a stadium? 0:57
whaaat that's insane
Bro keeps talking about about my mom I swear
Brian Kelly stole that joke from John McKay, only he delivered it poorly
8:19
